About us

We have three locations to serve our customers for their lighting needs: 3790 Lafayette Road (corner of 38th & Lafayette Road), 8060 N. Shadeland (across from Community North Hospital), and 645 US31 North in Greenwood (south of the Greenwood Mall). We have over 40 employees. Not only do we supply lighting fixtures and ceiling fans but we install them also if they are purchased from us and if electrical is in place. Prices vary according to ceiling heights. Please call for a quote. We have an extensive supply of bulbs and ballasts needed for replacement. Come to us for the hard to find bulbs.

We selected a Hinkley dining room solid brass chandelier with the help of Cindy at Indiana Lighting on Shadeland. We worked with Cindy and look through various manufacturer catalogs as well as Indiana Lighting's own website. We also contacted Hinkley ( through their website ) and received a small free sample of the actual brass that we would be getting on our chandelier. This was most helpful. We were especially impressed with the installers. They were prompt and very careful inside our home. We will use this company again!

I dropped in to chose a ceiling light and vanity light. I was looking for a specific design and new that with access to manufacturers' catalogues, they would have a good selection. A sales man assisted me and he helped me find some options in the catalog. I placed the order and not long after, was called to come pick up the order. I can't remember the exact cost, but it was at least a couple of hundred dollars.
All went well, my only reason for giving "B" grades was that I felt the price was a bit high for the quality and the salesman, while helpful, seemed a bit annoyed or hurried. Otherwise, I appreciated the personalized assistance and the selection.
I plan to use them again.

We originally visited the Indiana Lighting Center to purchase a fan on November 30, 2013. The fan we chose was a Fanimation fan that we had already seen on the company's website, but we wanted to check some things out in person to make sure we were happy with the look of it in the store. The price they showed at the Lighting Center was comparable to the internet price at Fanimation, and we were told that the delivery would only take a week because Fanimation was relatively local. Based on that information, we decided to order through the Lighting Center.
After two weeks, we called to check on the status of the fan, since we had heard nothing. We were informed by the woman on the phone in a rather rude tone that and quot;they don't usually come in that fast, but I'll check.and quot; I didn't have the chance before she put me on hold to inform her that we had been told it would only take one week. She came back and indicated that it hadn't been shipped from the supplier yet, but that they would call the supplier and get back to us. After yet another two weeks of waiting, we called again and were told that Fanimation was closed for the holidays, so we could check back after that. At this point we were pretty frustrated as we had paid the required 50% and felt like we weren't really being updated in a timely manner. In addition, we could have ordered the fan online from the supplier for the same price, and would have been able to receive it quicker. Finally, shortly after New Years' we called again. Five weeks after we ordered the fan and were told that it would only be a week until delivery, we were informed that it was on backorder from the supplier. We were really upset - this is something that they should have been able to tell us when it was ordered, or at the very least they could have kept an eye on it since we had called numerous times already and they'd told us that it would only be a week.
We were finally able to pick up the fan on January 10. We are happy with the quality and look of the fan, but in the future we will be ordering online.

I am really surprised to see mediocre reviews here for these guys. It may be the sales person involved BUT we had nothing but excellent service EVERY TIME. We only deal with Tonya Davis who is awesome and knows her stuff. She was recommended by our builder. She worked with us in picking out the fans for all the bedrooms and the office and had her installer coordinate with the builder to have them install in a perfect time. Later on we had some issues with couple of fans and lights and their tech showed up at no cost and was very courteous and prompt.
Last year we used her again in installing lamps on our back patio and same great service as usual. I would definitely recommend them and ask for Tonya bcs you will be happy you did.

We worked with Mike Leaman, who was very patient and good at judging what catalogs to have us look through and suggesting features to look for. When problems arose (not of his making), he helped us solve them. Throughout the process he was pleasant, professional, and helpful.

We ordered 3 lights. Was told it would be a week, maybe 2 for them to come in. That was on 12/15/12 and today is 1/9/13. We had to continually call to check on the orders. One time they blamed the weather on the lights not being there yet, which is understandable. The next week they blamed an accident on the highway for the delay. It seemed to be just one excuse after another.
We finally called today and were told the shipment came in 2 days ago. Why weren't we called, after they had in their notes we had been waiting since the 15th?
The lights themselves are nice but just not very impressed overall with our experience.

They are very conveniently located for us. The workmen showed up when they were supposed to. They were very professional and did an excellent job with the installation. However, I felt that the salesmen were not as professional as they should have been. The order got misplaced and I had to go back and reorder it. They had not placed the order because they were going to get in contact with me. It seemed like the ordering took too long. They also gave me the wrong price, and then I had to rewrite a check for the right amount. Their price was actually lesser than the estimate that they had given us.

When I went to Indiana Lighting several years ago to look for fixtures, the sales people virtually ignored me so I left. But after four years of not finding fixtures I liked, I went back. After a few minutes, the woman whom I talked to first drifted off never to be seen again. But as I was wandering around the store, Mr. Leaman came over to me. He was excellent -- patiently went through all the catalogs with me to help me find fixtures the right size (our dining room one required a shorter fixture than usual; the hall required a narrower one). With his help, I found ones I liked. One was in the store, the other one had to be ordered. That one arrived well within the estimated 3-4 weeks. When it arrived, I got an appointment for the installation within a couple of days. The installer arrived on time (actually 10 minutes early) and had everything installed within an hour. The only surprise was that I had to give him a check to finish paying for the lights. (I had put a 50% downpayment on my credit card when I placed the order. I blithely assumed the other 50% would go on my credit card when the lights were installed. No one told me I would have to pay the installer by check or with cash.)

Everything they did was outstanding. They did not install but they were great! They stored all of my lighting fixtures until I needed them and gave them to me as I needed them. They were very helpful with any questions I had.

Our salesperson was very nice, very low key, but very knowledgeable. She spent more time with us than I thought we needed but that was great. A very quick transaction. I found them very helpful and they are currently doing another project for me right now. They are repairing a light for us.
