I had some minor problems with switching policies and things like that.  They have been very courteous.

I have used this company for home and auto insurance for years. I bought a new house in June of 2012 and went with them again for homeowners insurance for the new house. In October, I was informed by my mortgage company that my mortgage payment was going to increase by $150.00 a month because my insurance company had initially billed the escrow account incorrectly. I was furious! When I called my agent (Chris Moore) I talked to his assistant who said he was and quot;outand quot; and that she would let him know the situation and have him call me back. Well, he didn't get back to me in two days so I had to call him again. He said he had looked into it and just couldn't figure out what had happened. I also found out that they had been billing me for earthquake insurance which we told them we didn't want. With the lack of empathy exhibited by Chris for their screw up, I canceled my policies with them and went with someone else. And on top of that, the new company I went with was almost $500 cheaper a year for more coverage!
So I cancelled the policy as of April 2, 2013 and received the letters from them stating the policies had been cancelled and were no longer in effect. I log into my checking account this morning only to find that they deducted a monthly payment for my auto insurance!!! I couldn't believe the level of incompetence!!!
This has been a nightmare and I will NEVER deal with them again. And ironically, they are a coop so you have to pay a $30 annual membership just to get this kind of horrible service. And the final slap in the face came when I requested a refund of that fee, and was told that they do not refund that fee, because it gives you annual access to their insurance products.
My advice to you is stay away from this insurance company and particularly this insurance agent!

Ben Hunter and his assistant Marcela have been a great insurance agent for us. We currently have home insurance with them and also auto insurance as well. But recently I noticed what ended up being a paperwork error between me and Indiana Farm Bureau. Ben was very understanding and was able to fix the problem in the same day I noticed it with no hiccups in service. I really appreciate their responsiveness and understanding.

I was very happy with the service I received when I submitted a claim for hail damage. An adjuster was sent out within two weeks to view the damage. I did need to have another adjuster come to the property in order to come to a fair settlement. Soon after the adjustment, a check was in the mail. Farm Bureau is not the least expensive agency, but it is nice to have a local company should you ever need to make a claim.
