Dion Hughes put a new roof on our home a few months before we bought it in September 2013. In the winter of 2013/2014 we noticed a small leak when snow was melting.  We contacted Dion and he came to check it out.  He thought maybe it was a fluke due to the extreme cold and heavy/wet snow we had had.  He said to let him know if it happened again and he'd check further and get it fixed.  We had no more leaks or issues until about a month ago.  Luckily, we still had Dion's business card.  We called him and set up a time when he could look at the problem again - which he did.  Three days later, he brought a roofer with him and they both went into our attic (very tiny opening accessed through a closet with a 6 foot ladder) found the source of the problem which was NOT related to the roof - it appears to be a condensation issue with the can light where the leak was happening. They were here close to an hour and he didn't charge us anything.  We will definitely choose this company again if and when we need any roof work or replacement done!  He was always extremely nice, responsive and punctual too!

He was punctual, pleasant, and knowledgeable.  He brought enough tools to fix minor issues on the spot.  I was having an issue with water seeping down a chimney.  He identified and fixed a problem with the flashing and gave me a general assessment of my roof.

This crew was very fast; the weather turned a little unexpectedly and they were able to power through and get the job done. Owner was easy to talk with and a good communicator. Price was outstanding.

They stayed on the job until finished. They also buttoned up my roof before completion to keep out expected rain which came with a vengeance. Our house stayed dry..

It went great - he did the work while we were at work, left the old shingles in a tidy pile by the trash can and a contact if we needed anything else.  Will definitely use again.

I purchased a roof checkup package through the Big Deal program, and the provider never contacted me, nor did they respond to my inquiries. I did receive a refund from Angie's List, and ended up using another roofing contractor, but the experience was disappointing.

Dionte came out and assessed the job, he made us a proposal and we accepted it. A new skylight needed to be ordered, once it came in, the work was performed. 
All the work was done to great satisfaction and the area was left clean and debris free. There was a small area on the drywall inside the house that needed some touch-up. That work was completed and we are very happy.
We will use Hughes Top Choice Roofing & Services again if a need arises!

Dion (Owner) was very professional, patient and easy to work with. He was on the job and made sure I was happy with everything. It was a small job but, he didn't treat it that way. He even did some other handyman jobs that I needed done outside and met me at Lowes. I've had several estimates in the past and he was the best priced, responded immediately and gave me a warranty for 10 years. In my experience, there seems to be a tendency to take advantage and be dismissive of single female home owners and that's why I rely on Angie's Lists reviews. It's priceless to me to find someone that helpful.

Complete removal, redesign and replacement of gutter system. Work completed in a timely and orderly fashion by an experienced crew anxious to please. This company did a complete roof replacement 2 years ago. I would not hesitate to recommend them. The company has an excellent reputation.

We communicated over a 2-month period, as we were in process of buying the house and then had to wait for good enough weather for the work, and Dion communicated well and accommodated our schedule.  He and his experienced crew did a great job, quickly but the right way, without making a mess.  I would highly recommend Dion/Hughes Top Choice.

We had asked for a prior estimate, from another company, and were told that the skylight was a bad model (already in the house when we bought it in 2013) and was in bad shape and were given an $1,100+ estimate to both replace it and the cracked boot.

When Dion Hughes (owner of Hughes Top Choice) first looked at the leak, he felt that he could work on it and eventually figure out what was causing it (also noting that the skylight was not that bad of a model).

It took Dion two attempts at stopping the leak (during the first attempt he also replaced the cracked pipe boot) to finally find that the original skylight installation was not done properly and he then fixed both the improperly installed flashing and shingles.

Dion also did some preventative maintenance by correcting the same type of installation problems, that would eventually have resulted in the same type of leak, around two other exhaust pipes.

Dion tried to save us money by trying to fix the problem rather than just throwing a replacement at it.  Greatly appreciated!

Dion was very easy to work with and gave us the lowest estimate of all the roofing companies we contacted. He also included many upgrades in the price and the best warranty. We have had the roof for approximately 6 months and have not had any problems and were very pleased with the entire process. The crew came out and did the job in one day, and Dion came out later to ensure that we were pleased with the work. Dion was always prompt to answer our phone calls and answer our questions. He was recommended to us by a neighbor who had used him the year before.

Unfortunately, right after the job was scheduled we had a run of rainy days.  I and Mr. Hughes agreed that it was not safe for him to be on my roof at that time.  As soon as the rainy period stopped he completed the job to my satisfaction and even discounted the job by $50.00 because of the delay, even though the delay was out of his control.  He was very professional & polite and I would definitely use him again.

They gave me the best price. I was very satisfied with them. They cleaned up well.

They completed the work for the deal.  I called them after getting an estimate for some other work and have not heard back from them.

I had to contact the technician several time to get him to perform the inspection.  There were delays due to rain, and his schedule and I felt as though I had to maintain contact to get the work performed.  He did provide valuable and expert information as well as a few related suggestions on moving forward.

Came out started 1st thing on Saturday morning ripping old roof off. By the afternoon started pouring rain. Made sure they Tarped the entire roof so no damage would happen. If it was not raining on sunday would have came out to finish but once again was pouring. Came out first thing on Monday and stay till everything was done.

After getting several estimates from roofing companies and our insurance company to have our damaged roof replaced we chose Hughes Top Choice Roofing for several reasons.  One company said that our entire deck needed to be replaced as well as the shingles.  The independent adjustor from our insurance company and Mr. Hughes both said our deck was in very good shape except for the area that had water damage around the chimney.
We are very pleased with the quality of work that was done by his efficient crew and the GAF product he recommended.  The cleanup was excellent, you couldn't tell they had been here.
Dion Hughes was very professional at all times, always returned phone calls and emails and was very punctual.

I couldn't be happier with the outcome.  We contacted our insurer approximately 9 months prior to getting the new roof to assess hail damage and was approved for a few hundred dollars worth of damage to the roof and no damage to the gutters.  We went ahead and replaced the gutters out of pocket and didn't proceed to repair the shingles at that time, as it was portrayed to us as very minimal damage.  9 months later we sell our house and the buyer ended up asking us to replace the roof due to "age and hail damage".  We got 3 different quotes.  Two of the contractors didn't see any hail damage and told us that insurance would not pay for our roof.  Dion, the owner of Hughes Top Choice Roofing, told us that the hail damage was there but it was hard to see due to the condition of the shingles.  He went above and beyond by offering to meet with our insurance adjuster and point out all of the damage that he saw.  After Dion's appointment with the adjuster, we were approved for a new roof AND new gutters!  If we would have listened to the other contractors, we would have been out thousands of dollars to replace the roof out of our own pockets.  I would highly recommend this company and have already referred family members in need of roof repair to him.

I chose Hughes Top Choice Roofing & Services after seeing his other favorable reviews on Angie's List.  I made the roofing repair appointment about a month ago.  The appointment was for June 30, 2014 at 10:30AM and on June 30th, Dion pulled up in front of my house at 10:30AM exactly.  He was very professional and courteous.  He had my minor leak fixed and was finished in an hour.  I recommend Hughes Roofing to everyone who has a need for roofing repair.  Call Dion, you won't be sorry.  If I ever have another roofing problem, Hughes Roofing is who I will call.  Dion Hughes 317-223-3107
