Everything was fine.  Two painters came out.  One of the painters was trying to start his own company.  The work and price was very good.  They were on time and did what they were supposed to do.

Tim Had an excellent  team. Very careful , perfect painting job and   all around nice guys.
I had some issues with last years staining. Apparently it absorbed differently in some areas. So they said,"no problem we will do it again. They did and it now looks beautiful and like the rest of the house. The trim turned out well too.
I would definitely use them again they are very easy to deal with.

They worked over Memorial Day weekend painting our house. Their clean up process was great - you wouldn't even know they were here. They put semi-gloss on, and we brought it to their attention that we'd wanted satin finish. They repainted it immediately. They were very good and very responsive.

I first contacted Heartland Painters during the summer to get a bid for painting the house and was able to make an appointment for an estimate within a reasonable amount of time. Tim O'Brien provided a prompt estimate and subsequently answered questions about the proposal. We were interested in having the house painted in the fall and Tim was able to work with our schedule.  Everything went smoothly once the process started. Tim was accessible by phone or email for any questions that arose. Tim and the entire crew of painters were very professional and easy to work with. Our house looks terrific and I would not hesitate to recommend Heartland Painters!

He was great. He had the best price of the three others I had quote.
he was on time got the job done beautifully.
My house is 35 years old,it has been clear sealed only ,over the years. It was looking very tired and had woodpecker holes. Tim fixed the holes and we decided to go with a clear sealant with redwood color added. That is just what it needed to refresh it. Looks fabulous, just what I was hoping for.
The crew was great, they explained everything when I asked questions. They even taped the whole house, to prevent getting stain on trim and windows. I appreciated that. No one else has ever done that when they sprayed.
The prep was power washing, taping and filling holes then the sealant was sprayed on,they finished in 3 days.
Yes, I would use them again. In fact I will use them next summer to do the trim.

The first and only real contact I had with Tim was in providing the initial quote.  Because my home was built in 1954, special attention would have to be paid to the removal of any scraped or sanded paint pursuant to EPA regulations, and Tim assured me this would be taken care of.  I paid my deposit to get on "the list" and was told I would be contacted when I moved up "the list" for painting.
After a month of hearing nothing, I called Tim, but only reached his receptionists.  Because they don't keep "the list", they could only take messages and tell me they would have Tim call be back.   Time never called back.  I would call again.  They would take another message.  Tim would not call back.  This went on for a few weeks and finally I demanded to speak with Tim and demanded a return call indicating where I was on "the list" or I wanted my deposit returned ASAP.  Magically, I received a return call and was told I was two weeks out on "the list".  A week or so later I received a call telling me that my home would be power washed and painted and the two man crew showed up to power wash my home late one afternoon.  They spoke only enough English for me to point them to the water spigot and power supply and they got to work cleaning my home, including sending lead based paint chips from the peeling area all over my flower beds, driveway and yard.  They did not take any steps to capture these chips (the EPA be damned!) but after calling Tim, he regretted they did nothing to capture those chips but assured me that they would vacuum them up when they came out to paint in a few days.
When the crew was finally able to begin work a few days later, it had rained and most of the paint chips had disappeared into my lawn making it nearly impossible to pick them up with a shop vac.  Unlike the initial crew, one of the painting crew spoke "un poco" more English (perhaps the crew leader?), and we double checked what he was supposed to paint (although I left for work worried the job would not be completed correctly since I was left to point and give instructions like "paint" and "no paint").  When I came home, I discovered the home taped off, painted correctly and a second coat was later applied while I was out to dinner.  The crew leader even came back the next day to touch up a few things and leave the extra paint.  He did a wonderful job on the actual painting and followup and I wanted to recognize his efforts.   Sadly, I never saw or heard from Tim again.  His staff of receptionists, unable to tell me where I was on "the list" and only able to forward message after message to Tim were sure to promptly send out the bill for the remaining half of the work done.

Everything went really well.  The two painters arrived on time and got to work quickly.  I had never hired painters before so I had no idea how long they would take to get my work done.  They had to put two coats of light colored paint over paint that was really dark.  They actually ran out of walls to paint and ended up leaving a little early.  Had I known, I would have cleaned out a couple of closets and had them ready to paint.  They cleaned up after themselves and didn't leave a spot behind.

The workers showed up right on time and immediately got to work. I needed a lot done and I really didn't think they would get to it all in 8 hrs but they were able to paint my living room, dining room, office and hallways, roughly 1,000 square feet. I was really impressed and the job they did looks amazing! There were a few spots that needed touched up, literally only one or two, but we have textured walls so as things dry that's to be expected. Overall, had a great experience and I am thinking of hiring them again in the future.

Heartland Painters were excellent. They were punctual and clean. They finished the job well and on time. Also, they were extremely quiet. My neighbors didn't even know we were having any work done until they were nearly finished. I would highly recommend them for residential work.

Before I begin I need to be upfront and say I would probably use this company again.  The price and availability were the major reasons this company was selected.  Tim did a walk around the house and we discussed the areas to be painted.  This company did not get the origional contract due to Tim not giving us a quote in a timely manner and his failure to return phone calls.  The day we decided on another company we received Heartland Painter's quote.  We changed our company selection.  Two weeks later Tim arrived with two men to power wash the house.  It was at this time we learned that Heartland Painters uses sub-contractors for their work.  IF THERE HAD BEEN NO PRESSURE WASHING OF THE HOUSE THIS REPORT WOULD HAVE BEEN WRITTEN DIFFERENENTLY.   I do not believe that it was my responsibility to supervise men I hire as professionals.  I should have at this point.  We were very busy working on our porperty trying to meet a deadliine for a Garden Tour.  I noticed from afar pressure washing on areas of the house not contracted to be painted.  "What a nice service cleaning our house and deck furniture."  Later in the day we discovered what was to become a major problem for us and Heartland Paiinters.  One new worker did not understand how to pressure and nearly ruined our wood deck, wood molding and removed paint from metal doors down to the bare metal.  Short of sanding 1800 sq. ft of deck it was decided to strip the deck of all  stain and re-stain the deck..  It gets a little worse.  (P.S.)  They were not contracted to stain the deck.  Striipping the deck uses a chemical  that needs to sit for 45 minutes and washed off.  They decided to pressure wash the stripper off and in doing so roughed up most of the deck.  Not good for bare feet.  Upon staining the deck a wet line was not maintained and lap marks were evident on several areas of the deck.  With two coats of stain (purchased by the hmeowner as agreed to prior to staining) the deck look (not feels) very good.  All this being said the painters did an excellent job on the actual painter of our house and trim.  If they had just not powerwashed the house.
Pros:  Great painting job and fair price.
Con:  Some workers were not knowledgeable of how to do their work,  difficulty in contacting Tim on numerous occasions

Do buy your paint in the finish that will last the longest and can be washed when dirty. The last time I had the walls painted, I bought flat paint and every mark shows up, and it cannot be washed.

The painters arrived just a few minutes late, but they got right to work.  Their work was very neat, and there was no paint to clean up. They pushed through, handling their time well and were able to get it all completely and satisfactorily done in the one day. There were absolutely no issues to even mention (so many stories in other reviews). I was very pleased with their professionalism and their work.   I would most certainly use them again.

Tim came out and gave us an extremely competitive quote. We scheduled a date and emailed him the colors that we wanted. He and his team showed up on time. Given that his team was comprised of Spanish speakers, he was there only for the first thirty minutes or so to ensure that they knew where each color was supposed to go etc. His team was quick, respectful, and efficient. Throughout the day, there were a couple of issues. There was one wall that definitely needed a second coat, but did not get one. paint in some areas that it should not be (on the toilet, doorknobs, and one carpet area), albeit in very small quantities, and it became obvious about half way through the day that they were not going to meet their timeline of finishing within the day. Since it was clear that they were not going to finish, and my Spanish is extremely limited, I did not attempt to communicate with the team about anything other than the wall that needed a second coat. I contacted Tim after they left for the evening and informed him of how I felt about the progress, work quality, etc. He returned with a different group two the next day to complete the work, was very gracious, cleaned up any areas that needed cleaning, and completed a beautiful painting job.
In summary, Tim's quote was in some cases 50% lower than other quotes that we got for this job. There were bumps in the road, but he personally ensured that the job was completed to our expectations and the results are exactly what we had hoped for.

The two painters arrived early and immediatey got to work after I showed them what needed to be done.  I bought the paint and had removed towel bars and switch plates the previous day so they could concentrate on painting.  They were very careful to cover the floors and tape off sinks, light fixtures, etc.  The painters were very polite, professional and worked efficiently and quietly.  They finished everything in the alloted time.  They rehung my bathroom mirrors and a few pictures.  They cleaned up before leaving.  I would definitely use this company and crew again.
