They were "A"s all the way down.

Griggs are amazing. They were recommended to me by my neighbor. I gave them B's in price and responsiveness only because A: tree removal and trimming are expensive, and B: he groups his jobs by location, so does not 'get your job on the calendar' like many people like to do, but calls only a day or so ahead to schedule. These guys may not return calls promptly because they are busy,busy, busy. Wouldn't you rather have someone in so much demand that they have trouble keeping up with the phones? I would. They have a secretary who does a pretty good job. David's estimates are fair for the going rate. He and his crew took down a mature tree that was leaning over a wooden structure and patio at a 45 degree angle. It took almost a whole day, and not a single limb could be dropped to the ground... everything had to be roped down. There was not a ding or dent on my pavers or my cedar pergola. The crew is knowledgeable and talented. I have seen several large trees taken down and trimmed in our older neighborhood, and I have never seen rope work like these guys do. If you have a tricky situation, these are the guys to call.

I chose Griggs because he came out and was very professional and understood the situation.  He warned me of all possible issues and I was very impressed with him and the company.  I have had numerous other trees removed by the "cheap companies" but these trees were a concern due to the size and the proximity to the house.  They handled the job without issue and did a great job cleaning up.  I only put price as a "B" because you can always find cheaper but the quality would not be there.

The came out the day after I called for a price and did the work the next day.  Did a great job of thinning out and trimming.  Very professional work and good cleanup.

They did a nice job trimming two small trees.  One is a wild apple tree about 10 ft and the other a Japanese Maple about the same size.   I thought the price was a bit high for the effort required based on the size of the two trees.

We rely on Griggs Tree Service to keep our trees in good shape and trimmed away from the house. This time they removed a leader on a river birch that slanted toward the roof and trimmed errant branches, raised the canopy on a maple overlooking the deck and removed crossing and rubbing branches, and did minor trimming on another river birch and a sweet gum tree.
The river birch looks better with its three remaining leaders than it did before being trimmed and the maple is much more stately without the low limbs. The Griggs crew is very good at making trees look their best after trimming, they are careful not to damage the lawn and they clean up all the debris in a very short time.

They were prompt to responding to my request for a quote. It was a very reasonable price. However, they didn't completely finish the project, so I was unsatisfied with them. I tried to follow up twice and I was essentially ignored.

They took the tree down manually but then they used some sort of equipment. Griggs Tree Service cleaned up any mess that they made. They were thorough.

We had a Bradford Pear tree split after a storm. Called David Griggs and that day he came out to quote the removal of the rest of the tree and the next day his guys were there to take down and haul away the remaining tree.
I also called him on a separate issue as I had tree damage at my office as well.
Outstanding work, polite crew and most important, they cleaned up when they were done.
I would recommend Griggs for ANY tree issue.

I had ash borer damage and David explained the options and why he thought I should remove the tree, which was hanging over my neighbor's garage and could damage it if a branch fell. It was a big job. They cleaned up pretty well. However, when I found some branches behind my shed that they forgot to take, David came by to clear them the next day. He also trimmed up the long neglected other trees on the property.

The did a very good job. It took eight men over eight hours to remove and dispose of the tree.

My experience with them went very good. The work was done professionally. They seemed to know exactly what they were doing and they did it in a reasonable amount of time. It took them a while to get to me, but other than that they did a good job. I had to wait a few weeks because they were busy.

We have a large yard and have used Griggs for tree trimming and removal many times. The group is very experienced and worked as a team to get the job done efficiently and to clean up well. These trees were very large and in the back portion of the yard so they brought a 4-wheeler and trailer to remove the pieces without damaging the yard. We had the large birch trimmed away from the house about four years ago, but it had grown taller and was again extending into adjoining trees and over the roof of the house. I was concerned about how it would look after removing the leader, but they trimmed it so it still has balance to its shape and fits in with the other trees quite nicely.

They are doing great. They found out why all of my tree's are dying. They gave me great advice on how to handle the issue. Their price is not cheap, but it's because they do quality work.

Okay, but didn't seem as good a job as when I'd used this company previously. Different staff.

They did an awesome job. They were very efficient and on time. They were very enthusiastic. Their price was very competitive with other people.

After accepting their bid for tree service, we scheduled a time for the work to begin. The crew showed up on time and were able to accomplish everything we had wanted done in the two days that had been scheduled. The work was done in a professional manner and we were satisfied with all the work that they did. We were particularly pleased at how carefull they were in moving their bucket truck when near the house and how carefully and skillfully large tree branches were removed. Overall a good experience with this company.

My neighbor had a river birch that was encroaching on my property and I had a dead sand cherry bush/tree that needed removed plus an ash that needed trimming. Dave came out and provided estimates for all the work. His prices were a bit cheaper than the other 2 estimates that were received but most of all, Dave had an extensive knowledge regarding trees and he was very open and honest. He performed the work on time and on budget and I couldn't have asked for a nicer man to do the job. He was very professional and I would not hesitate to call him again when this type of work is needed.

They did a good job and cleaned up well. They cut the tree into small sections so I could get them in the wood splitter and I kept the wood. Everything they did was excellent.

Very professional and all work done as requested. This was a two to three day job and the original estimate was made in January. Because of the bad winter weather, we were unable to get three consecutive days to perform work until April. They were very good about keeping me updated as to their schedule. This is the third time I have used them and I would use them again and highly recommend them.

Griggs came and removed the tree. They were very prompt, good. They also cleaned up additional brush for us. They were in and out in less than half the time we thought it would take. They did a phenomenal job.

This is the third time I have used them. It is an excellent company. I would not use anyone else. They are nice respectful people. I can't say anything bad about this company. They're professional and I would definitely recommend them to others.
