While there are many materials available for use as countertops, there are none that compare to the natural beauty and practicality of granite. Granite counter tops will give a greater return on investment than just about anything you can do to your house. Carpet, paint, wood-work, appliances, hardwood floors, etc. will all show the effects of time and wear. Granite countertops will maintain their beauty year after year. Granite doesn't wear, scratch, or suffer the effects of UV rays, heat or cold like man made counter top materials will. Granite tops will look as good in ten, twenty, thirty or forty years as they do the day they're installed.

We called Dave S about replacing our existing countertops. We were so happy with his work when he did the kitchencounter replacements in another home that we only thought of him when thinking about having the work done. We met him at the granite store. Dave gave us some suggestions on pattern and color. He came to our home to make patterns since our countertops were curved, and layered. Three days later he and his crew came in about 9am and started taking out all the old countertops and then installed the new granite tops and sinks and were done by 3pm. Besides being very efficient, they do beautiful, quality work. We highly recommend Granite by Design and Dave Esslinger.

Dave was a pleasure to work with. The countertops look great. There were only two concerns that we were left with one the project was completed. #1 There were some areas with quite a bit of space between the countertop and the drywall(Tile wouldn't be big enough to fill gap) #2 The drywall was left with some pretty substantial gouges taken out(We weren't expecting it to look so unfinished after the countertop was installed). Overall we would use Dave again, but next time it would've been nice to get better picture of what the kitchen would look like once he was complete.

I can't say enough praise for the work done. When Dave showed up (right on time) for the first time to estimate the cost, he explained the process that he would follow -- preliminary estimate, selecting the slabs of granite, final measurements and estimate, removal of existing counters and appliances, installation of granite and sink and placement of cooktop, cleanup -- and answered a slew of questions we had. He met us at the warehouse of the granite provider and helped us select the exact granite slabs we would use. He was personally present during the entire work to ensure a high quality job, and they did a thorough cleanup. The plumber he used to install the sink and faucets we selected also installed our new cooktop (at our additional expense, as we had originally understood and at less than the installation price Home Depot had quoted). We much appreciated throughout the process that he took the time to explain what he was doing and to answer questions.

The project went quick and the crew was professional and clean. We had used Granite By Design for a previous kitchen project and were totally impressed with the process and the work performed (from selection to installation) it was a "no brainer" for us to use these guys again. Dave, the owner, was great. I got three price quotes and therefore interacted with three companies. While one other one was friendly to deal with, only Dave came out for initial measurements (vs. just for final template-making measurements) as well as met us at the granite supply warehouses. Having Dave with us at the granite supply warehouses was a game-changer. He had seen our kitchen at this point, heard about our interests, knew our budget, and then steered us in the right direction. He even graciously told us about some negatives with a few of our possible choices that we wouldn't have otherwise known. It gave us complete confidence that our costly choice for a kitchen upgrade wouldn't be later met with regrets or 2nd guesses. In addition to this, Dave is a great guy to deal with: relational, low-key, friendly, and very practical. I gladly recommend him to anyone interested in getting new countertops.

Dave was very responsive and easy to work with. He came out to measure when he said he would. He gave me good suggestions about widening my center island. Something I had not even thought of before. He met me at granite warehouse to look at slabs and give advise. He fabricated the slabs beautifully for my kitchen. I get compliments on it all the time. Dave arranged for a plumber to install new sink and faucet. There was a slight mishap during the installation of the granite, by one of his workers, but Dave made it right. I would and have recommended Dave to others.

Dave and crew were the best. Dave measured, met me to help select and educate me on granite. (by the way, the granite selection is just amazing!) Kept to stated time table. He was able to install the corner piece in one complete slab. No seams! They were quick, arranged for plumber for final hookup. Did extra things very reasonably. I purchased granite top for bath vanity thinking we would install ourselves. On day of installation I asked him to install it for me. Besides doing a super job, Dave is just plain likable!

Dave is very easy to work with.  Very straight forward and helpful without any sales pressure.  The job looks great and the price is fair.  We did get our sink and faucet from him, but again, there was no pressure.  Just quality products at a reasonable price.  We would definitely recommend Granite by Design to our friends and would use again if we need more granite counter tops.

Dave, the owner of the company, came to the house and took measurements.  He discussed every detail of the process with us.  He also is a representative of a sink and faucet manufacturer but did not put any pressure on us to get those items through him.  He gave us a quote on the granite only and a separate quote on a sink and faucet.  He met us at a granite store and we picked out the actual granite slab that he would cut the counter top from.  He was very helpful and gave us lots of good advice on what to look for in the stone.  Because our kitchen walls and counter top were not truly square, he came out a second time to re-measure and make a template.  Dave also had a plumber come out during the installation to do the sink pipes (included in the original estimate).  We also purchased a new garbage disposal (from Lowes) which the plumber also installed.  On a side note, the plumber was very good and I plan to call him soon for some plumbing work I need to have done.  Anyway, the installation went well and we are very pleased with the results.  We very much liked working with Dave.  We recently gave his name to some friends of ours who are considering granite for their counter top.

The owner came to home and took measurements of our space. Met the owner Dave at the granite warehouse to pick out the design and color of our choosing. We had over 200+ slabs of colors, designs and price levels to choose from in this warehouse. Dave was very helpful in suggesting designs and colors which would bring out the best in our kitchen. Yet it was our decision in the long run.  Then he gave us a firm estimate using the design of our choice.
We were given an installation date which was met to the minute. The owner Dave was present during all of  the installation.
If we were purchasing additional granite items, we would surely use Granite by Designs. We love our new counter tops and sink.

Dave did a fantastic job in helping me pick out granite! I'll never shop at a big box store again! I was able to walk among the slabs of granite to get an understanding of how it would actually look in my space. Dave was so helpful in this process. He worked quickly--we were on a tight schedule and he was able to get the granite much quicker than expected! Great service, great craftsmanship! Highly recommended!

OUTSTANDING. This was the second time we have used Granite by Design. Once again it was the most positive and rewarding experience. Dave Esslinger shopped  with us for the perfect surface (included in the price paid) and as in our previous house did an outstanding job. For almost one half the price of either national home improvement center and less expensive than several contractors, we have seamless custom granite counter tops, island, and a beautiful double bowl under mounted stainless steel sink installed in our kitchen by Granite by Design. As a bonus we have a matching granite lazy suzan for our kitchen table.  Every new visitor to the house comments on the countertop, island, and sink. They never comment on the remodeled man cave garage. Hmm, maybe if I...
Once again, I believe you would find it difficult to have a better experience than we encountered with Granite by Design.

Dave is very easy to work with and highly recommend him to anyone wanting to install granite counter tops.  They are a

rather permanent remodel, so you want to choose wisely!!  Dave came to our home to measure and gave us a quote and

told us where the granite stores were located.  I went and looked initially, but when it came to a final decision, Dave went

with us.  He educated us about what to look for.  We looked at 2 granite suppliers and made a selection.  Dave wants you to

select the right stone and did we ever!!!  It looks fabulous!!!  My husband wanted a darker stone and Dave cautioned

about our smaller kitchen and being in the interior of the home.  We pick a medium colored stone with a lot of motion as

I call it.  Dave came and did a final measure, I bought a sink online and sent it to him.    Dave always returned my phone

calls right away and answered any concerns we had.

      On the day of the install, Dave and his workers showed up right on time.  They took out the old counter tops

without damaging our stone back splash.  They were very neat and always cleaned up after themselves.  They installed

the new counter tops and he had been able to cut the stone so that we had NO seams!!  I didn't think it could be done!!

They installed my new stone sink and it turned out beautifully.  After Dave and his crew were all done and had

cleaned up everything, Phil the plumber came and installed the faucet and disposal.  We had a small plumbing

issue, but was fixed quickly and everything had been accomplished by 2:30;.  Dave runs a top notch business and

wants you to be happy.  It ran just like clock work!  I was very impressed!  Thanks Dave for all your help-You are the best!!
