Freddy Araujo

I have never written a bad review. But I will never use Angi again after my experience. I contracted an electrician through Angi and the electrician, Freddy Araujo, arrived on time. However, he could not speak hardly any English and there was a great difficulty communicating. He put in a new light switch and fixed one problem (plugs not working) but did not fix the main problem (lights blinking continually). When he finished, he said we probably needed a new fixture. I asked if I needed to pay him directly, and he quoted $100 (which was less than the $233 quoted by Angi. I did not see anything on my booking about NOT paying the worker directly). I paid Freddy directly with a check and added $110. The next morning, I noticed that Angi had charged me $233. I phoned Freddy and asked him to return the check , but then I noticed on my computer that he had already cashed it. He hung up. I texted him and asked him to return the $110 but never heard from him. I contacted Angi and at first was told that they would refund my money, but then I was switched to another department and at that department I was told my money could not be refunded. Then I wrote e mails to Angi explaining the situation. Have never heard back. So... basically I paid $343 for a problem that was not fixed. Pretty upset about this.
