"First and foremost, we are very sorry that you had a bad experience with your flower order. We encourage people to avoid calling flower order clearing houses like 1 800 Flowers because they retain a significant amount of your payment before they pass it on to a flower shop. They also retain information. We are not given your name or any of your contact information or we would have gladly used it. Sometimes we can get incomplete or incorrect information sent to us by a clearing house and other times not. We try getting the information from the clearing house first. When we cannot, we have no choice but to try to contact the recipient. Our only other option would be to cancel the order and hope 1 800 gets it placed somewhere else. In such a case, the recipient may not get their flowers so we hate to do that as well. You may ask why we do work for a clearing house. This is the online age and most of the little guys like us need to have such relationships in place. We are a small, family owned floral shop and we would like for you to have the experience of working with one. We would be happy to extend a 20% discount to you on your next order. If I may, I would like to explain one thing. Our website, along with millions of other florists, is managed by Teleflora. They do a great job for us but one of the by-products is that they show every one of the arrangements they feature in their own ads. An arrangement marked as a "bestseller" means it is a Teleflora bestseller -- not necessarily ours. That said, it is a beautiful piece and shows good taste. We do similar sleek arrangements but we no longer do the Zen Artistry for the very reason you encountered. We cannot always have the purple orchids at our disposal.
