I would not suggest this company. I was looking for a small business to purchase and install a shed, but the responsiveness and customer service left a sour taste. I placed an order for a shed in April 2020 and although told it would take about 2 months for the process, I waited more than 4 months. Although I understand some delays were out of their control, the customer service received from this company was unacceptable. In late April and May I called for updates after not hearing any updates. In June I called multiple times and even asked to speak with a manager or the owner, but never received a call back. In fact, the sales person was "surprised" that my order was not complete because she had not heard anything and assumed my shed was already installed. I again asked to talk to the owner and was told my messaged would be relayed and someone would be in contact with me. The owner never called. I was then given a potential installation date, but they never showed up or contacted me. I called and the sales person was yet again "surprised" my shed had not yet been installed and she assumed it was done since she had not heard anything. Again, I asked to speak with the owner and was told that someone would reach out to me, but I never did. Their follow-through and timeliness was terrible!

"[Member Name Removed] did not receive his shed in the time frame that we usually accomplish. However, it was not the fault of Five Star Industries. The Department of Business and Neighborhood service is running seven to nine weeks in issuing building permits. Five Star kept [Member Name Removed] updated as we possibly could. Unfortunately, with Covid 19, the timeliness in obtaining a building permit and communication with the people who issue the permits was lacking. [Member Name Removed] has never expressed any issue with the construction of the shed, nor the quality of the finished product, After paying for the building in full, [Member Name Removed] decided to reverse the charges after 18 days because he thought that he should be compensated for the time frame in which his shed was built and supposed lack of communication. [Member Name Removed] is demanding to be given a discount even though he is very happy with the quality of the finished product. Five Star even paid a builder extra to build [Member Name Removed]'s building on a Saturday in 90 degree heat because of the delay in getting the building permit. If there was a supposed lack of communication due to being short staffed because of Covid 19, then we are sorry, but still feel that the building should be paid for in full. When my operations manager contacted [Member Name Removed] 2 days prior to the build date to confirm, that would have been a good time to express his dissatisfaction with timeframe and communication. He seemed very happy that we were working him in on a Saturday. Nothing was said about expecting a discount. Seems as though that might have been a more appropriate time than 18 days later."

It was a 3 day process but it went well. The installer had a family emergency and had to come back on two separate days to finish the project, but that gave me time to paint the shed trim and sides before it was completely assembled which was easier than climbing up and down a ladder. It was extremely hot that weekend, so having it built in stages was the wiser decision.

They build sheds right on your property. They are so wonderful to work with. They are magnificent. They are sweet, kind and are very workable. They listen to what you want. I told them size I wanted, what I wanted and the size and they did exactly what I said. Everybody is very happy.

"Mr [Member Name Removed] barn was built on October 3, 2015. He had ordered two windows. Our builder did fail to see the second window to be installed. However, Five Star was never notified of this. Mr. [Member Name Removed] was sent several bills and still did not notify us that he was missing a window. When I was finally able to reach Mr. [Member Name Removed] on November 4, 2015, he informed me that we had failed to install his second window. We went out and installed his window. Up to this point Mr. [Member Name Removed] still had not paid us for the building. I have records of several calls being made to Mr. [Member Name Removed] asking for payment after the window was installed. I also have records of several bills being sent to {Member Name Removed].On January 19, 2016, I even personally left a message telling Mr. [Member Name Removed] that his ignoring our bills was not doing anyone any good. I also stated that I would work with him on payments if he could not afford to pay the whole balance due which is $2714.43. Five Star finally had to prepare the paperwork to file a mechanics lien on Mr. [Member Name Removed] property before he called to say that he would pay the balance due. To date I still have not received his payment."

From the start to completion communication was great with Five Star they reconfirmed the day prior to install and I was well informed throughout the process. I was impressed by the efficiency and the amount of work they got done the day and quart it took them to construct the storage barn. Two months later writing this review I have not had any problems with the storage barn.
The only slight complaint I have is I would have prefered there to be less composite building matterials used. Aside from the framing all the trim and siding was some variant of an OSB product, yet again this common with modern day construction you get what you pay for.

Saw a sample of their product at Northside Trailer. Ordered the shed over the phone - spoke with Meg. Their web site details what they have available. I made a couple minor changes to the plan- architectural shingles to match our home and eliminated the window - which was no problem. Meg scheduled the build and the builder called that morning to let me know when he would arrive. Dave was professional and efficient. I think it only took him about 6 hours total to build an 8x12 shed. It took me longer to caulk and paint the shed. My husband and I were pleased with the work.

Service was excellent and the price/quality expectation is equally as good. Deciding on the shed and amenities was made quite easily with Sherene's assistance.
The construction crew was on time and did an excellent job of construction. Got to our property at 8:30 with all the materials and were done and left at 2:00pm. The two man were well experienced and had their responsibilities divided so there was no time lost in deciding who was going to do what. Crew also did an excellent job site clean-up as well.
Will and already have recommend them as a viable provider.

We shopped for a mini barn at several suppliers. After seeing the ones that Five Star had, we sat down with Pat at Busters on Madison Ave. He answered all of our questions and pointed out some options which we decided to have included. We liked the product so well that we ordered a second barn. Pat got them scheduled and called me with a build date of August 14 for the larger 16 x 30 with a full loft and stairs. Their contractor Rick showed up at the appointed time and began construction alone. I have never seen anyone who could work like Rick. 2 1/2 days later the barn was complete and Rick did it all including the shingles which he made sure matched the house;
Friday afternoon, Rick says I'll see you Monday to build the other barn.
Monday morning Rick showed up and 6 hours later the other barn was done!

We had spoken with Sherene a few times before, at the East Washington St. location, when I went to the State Fair. We saw an exhibit at the fair with a money booth to grab money for a discount. I decided to participate. I managed to grab 200 dollars off. This accompanied by the fact that prices were about to go up encouraged me going ahead with the purchase. The day before the build, Sherene called. She said they would arrive between 7 and 9 A.M Friday morning. I told her I may not be available until 8 A.M., but I would try. She said that was fine, and they would call ahead. They called Friday morning to let me know they had made me their second job to be done that afternoon. I really didn't mind. However, I'm doing an Angie's list review, so to be critical I lowered their punctuality grade to a B. They also misunderstood my location request, but I actually like it better where it is. I have to be critical though, so I gave them a B for responsiveness. Although I haven't had the mini barn long, I have thoroughly enjoyed it. The men who built my mini barn were very courteous and professional. They had many years of experience building mini barns, and it showed. I am very pleased, and would definitely use their services again in the future.

We looked at the website to see where to look at sample buildings. We had compared quite a number of other companies' products. The price was comparable, but 5 Stars' quality seemed superior. They were very pleasant to speak with and scheduled the work at our convenience.

We saw the displays at the state fair again this year. We decided on a specific building and additional items. They scheduled a date the next week. The builder I believe his name was Dave called that moring and confirmed the build. He showed up on time, did a fantastic job, and left behind no mess.We are very pleased with the building and would recommend them to everyone!

We called Five Star and talked with Sherene. She was extremely helpful, answered all of our questions and was very knowledgeable about product. Sherene worked with us, sending us pictures via email to match the shingles for the mini barn with our house. We did the prep work that was required on our part in preparing the sight for the mini barn. The builder showed up early that morning well prepared and ready to build our barn. He was very organized and professional. He went straight to work and completed the barn in 4 hours. He answered all our questions and did an exceptional job.
We are very satisfied and pleased with the mini barn we chose. We would definitely recommend them to anyone wanting to have a shed or mini barn built.

My community does not allow out buildings but with the lean-to's the building was placed right up againt the house almost looking like part of the house. I hired Five Star when at the Home Show in Indianapoilis where they were providing a discount. The lean-to's come in 3 sizes and I selected the large size (12x4) for house storage and the small (8x4) for lawn supplies. Five Star intially came to my house and measured for the installation. I was provided several choices for shingles and the choice of where to place the entry way. Five Star built the lean-to's on site. Very sturdy with water resistant exteriors. They were not insulated. OK for my situation. The lean-to's were raised so that they were not directly on the ground exposed to moisture. I did have to caulk & paint after installation. All your choice but recommended for leaking and preservation purposes One lean-to did have a leaking issue due to the way the wind and rain hit my house. Five Star promptly came out to fix the problem and did stop the leak. The were very responsiveness to the issue. I highly recommend their product.

We are ecstatic with our shed and Five Star. We had a little fight with the weather and getting a dry day to cooperate, but Mark called the day before to confirm we were still on schedule and to give us a heads up he was loading the truck and would be over in the morning at 8 a.m. He arrived right at 8, we showed him where we wanted the shed, and he got to work immediately. It took right around 5 1/2 hours in total. Once complete, we went out and checked out the shed with Mark and he walked us through the shed and some tips on what should be painted and caulked and when. Location-wise, he stuck with where we wanted it precisely. It looks great and we truly feel we have a quality product.

I had stopped by the lot of Washington and Post to look at sheds. Went to the office and got a price sheet with all of the information very quickly. The sheds also mark clearly what is an extra and what is the cost.
I came back a week later after checking pricing further and they beat the other two places. After talking with the sales person it took maybe 5 minutes to fill out all the paperwork and to get a date scheduled for installation. I received a call a few days later asking if I wanted to move up the install due to a cancellation. I had the shed installed within a week from purchasing it.
The installer called around 8 am for directions (was told he would call usually between 7:30 and 8:30). I received a call around 2pm stating he was done. No issues with the shed and it is exactly what I expected.
Overall a very nice process.
