I was supposed to receive it back within a month's time. One day I called to get the status of the lamp repairs and shade restoration. The people at Exciting Liting advised me they could not find it and would give me a return call in a few days. During that time I went on vacation, when I got back, I gave them a follow up call. At this point I was advised there was no paperwork, no lamp, no shade. It was gone. They wanted to give me a replacement lamp and shade to cover their losing the lamp from my family member. I would not take another lamp there.

They were fantastic. I took the lamp to them. I dropped it off and picked it back up. They were just excellent. It was an antique lamp. They did a great job. They were courteous, knowledgeable, and really responsible. They absolutely took care of it. I would absolutely use them in the future.

Took chandelier in for evaluation. The man acted irritated that he would have to work on it on his own time and kept saying how expensive it was going to be. I almost left the store with it for another store that would act like they appreciated my business. I heard nothing from them for three weeks. I went into the store and they had done nothing. I was agitated because they had not called me or indicated there were other problems. The man was irritated that I was irritated after having waited for three weeks. A lady named Carol came over and took over the project. She was very friendly and seemed very confident that she could get this situation under control and completed. She gave me her card and she said she would keep me informed. She called me upon completion and the chandelier is beautiful. Job well done Carol. If it wasn't for you I would have rated Exciting Lighting an F across the board.

They are so friendly and helpful! A lady (Carol, I think) took over and showed me everything I needed. They also have the and quot;large baseand quot; light bulbs (found in older lamps, I guess), but they're almost impossible to find. I was going to replace my grandmother's lamp because of this issue, but they assured me that they have plenty of these bulbs. Fabulous!
And they have the most fascinating inventory. It'd be easy to spend some real cash in there.
They're just first rate folks.

It was a very fast service that was reasonably priced. We are very pleased with the job done! I would recommend them!

The electrical switch was replaced. I was glad I had the time to make three trips get the lamp corrected.

It went well. I felt it too presumptuous to ask if those repairs would be done on an and quot;as you waitand quot; basis but this one could have been.
I think an hour after I dropped it off, I received a call notifying me that it was ready. Initially, I considered Indiana Lighting on 38th but the one week plus turnaround time was discouraging so I was pleased to have and quot;one hourand quot; turnaround essentially.

Very nice experience to fix an antique lamp. It was fixed, and was completed exactly when promised. I will return for any other jobs I might have.

The overall experience was great. The lamp looks new. Nice to do business with honest respectable people.

Very satisfied: gave alternatives for what repair to do. Lamp was ready quickly and the called to let me know when it was available for pickup.

Overall the repair service was incredibly fast. My shopping experience for shades there was a little difficult because of my need to have 2 of each item I selected. Not their fault. The sales woman was incredibly patient with me. That was greatly appreciated.

They gave me two to try out--one was white. Just in the way that they helped worked out quickly and efficiently. She knew what I was talking about the whole time. She said she didn’t have an ivory shade in right away, but in 2-3 weeks they would have one in. She said that even if we had to remove the plastic to make the shade work, that would work okay. So, she was very accommodating.

We actually ended up keeping the white because we liked it better. So we don’t need to wait for the other to come, and she really didn’t need to extend that service to get in the ivory one.


They really do have a wide variety of shades. They do lamp repair as well, and sell lamps too.

After looking elsewhere unsuccessfully for a lamp part we walked into exciting liting and they quickly provided the part we needed.

They were very prompt, friendly, and professional in checking my lamp in. It was ready within 4 days, even though they'd estimated a week for the repair.

We are so happy to be able to use this lamp again, as it has been in the family for many years. Considering the price of new lamps, the repair price was extremely modest.

Their store is beautiful and full of any kind of lampshade one could imagine, and they also have a very wide selection of lamps.

I encourage everyone to check them out for anything concerning lamps and lighting! We will be returning for two more repairs and at least 2 shades.

She took a lot of time with us. She was very pleasant, nice, knowledgeable, and very professional. She explained their return policy and told us to not hesitate to bring it back. She was very interested in making sure we found exactly what we wanted. She never tried to talk us into anything.

Our needs were well taken care of. Exciting liting has a terrific selection of lamp shades, and we could get exactly what we needed. We highly recommend this establishment.

I took in my antique brass floor lamp to buy a shade. Carol and her assistant were very helpful in helping me select the right lampshade. I asked Carol for some helpful pointers in cleaning and polishing the brass and she was happy to help with that too. My shade was marked down in price by $20-good news for me! However, the specialty light bulb (mogul base) was $11.95, which was not so great news. Overall, I was very please with this company.
