Chuck McCollum with Remax referred me to Bill to get some work done on my house I purchased through him.  Later he disclosed that Bill is his brother.  Bill wanted to trade work for the lawn tractor I was selling.  He also requested $1100 additional up front prior to starting the work.  I had difficulty getting him to show up to do the work.  He had lots of excuses.  He finally promised to make me a priority.  He hung one of the storm doors over interior trim rather than brick mould.  He tried to fill in the gaps with caulk.  It looks terrible.  Instead of rekeying, he elected to change the door handles.  The door handle to the garage will not unlock with a key.  Another door handle was installed right on a left handed door.  He damaged my door drilling for a dead bolt.  The walls were left with large holes after the shelving was removed.  It took multiple visits and lots of spackling to fill them in.  He did not do a good job sanding.  The walls are not smooth.  There is white paint showing through the wall color.  He got the wall color on the ceiling and trim.  The carpet padding is installed upside down.  The pad is cut in pieces and there are large gaps in the padding.  The carpet was not stretched.  There are gaps between the carpet and the walls.  He stuck small strips of carpeting in the gaps and stapled them down.  The carpet had 2 screws holding it down.  There are deep razor marks in the baseboards and the rubber under the door.  He and his crew left large messes every time they came to my house.  There were stripped wires, nails, screws on my floors.  There is a large amount of drywall dust in several rooms of my house.  He washed his paint brushes in my white kitchen sink.  I had to scrub paint off my sink and stain off my countertops.  Needless to say, I am very unhappy with his work.  When I asked him to come back and fix it, he refused.  I have gone back and forth with him for 2 months trying to get him to either fix things or give me my money back.  He continues to refuse to do so.  He is the reason why I am now a member of Angie's List.  I will no longer hire anyone that hasn't gotten excellent reviews on this site.
