It was great! Left a message and Ed called us back within 2 hours, and was at our house an hour after that. He worked quickly and fixed the leak by replacing the busted section of pipe. Impressed by Ed's work ethic and professionalism, would definitely use him again.

I contacted this provider and he was out right away. He did great work and went out of his way to explain to me what he was doing and how I could fix it on my own if it happened again in the future which I really appreciated.

Ed responded on a Saturday with same day service. Located the pipe, replaced the damaged section and even added some extra insulation that he spotted was missing in the crawl space.
Ed was professional and prompt. He was great to work with and helped make a situation that was pretty terrible get back to normal faster. Couldn't recommend him more highly and will definitely use him in the future.

The plumber did the job quickly and professionally.  I had a lot of questions and he answered them all.  It was the best experience with a plumbing service I've had so far.

The first employee did not fix the original leak or tighten the 2 faucet handles, and, also, caused another leak when installing the 4 water valves.  When this was reported to the office, they sent another plumber.  He was an excellent representation of the company, very polite & professional.  He worked all afternoon to correct the other plumber's mistakes and to complete the original work order.  We are very satisfied with the end result.

They came 4 weeks ago and cleared the drain due to tree roots.  Two weeks later, it happened again and we called them. We were told to be home Monday between 10-2, but nobody showed or called.  After calling them, they said it would be Tuesday 8:30-9:30am, but again nobody came.  I let my real estate agent know and he said Ed was on vacation and would never operate this way.  My partner left work early to meet them later that day and it was discovered that we needed a whole new sewer line in the front yard and they charged us another $200.  Ed called me back and agreed with me we shouldn't have been charged again for the same issue they were out for two weeks before, so he said charges would be reversed.

Tony assured me that a machine could raise and lower the backhoe into our yard without removing our fencing or trees, except for
a fence section in the side yard by the sewer line.  He said it would take 2-3 days and gave us an Ed Gregg invoice for $4,200. He said no trees would be removed or harmed.
Someone named Matt showed up today to start the job and did not know about the machine that would lower the back hoe into our yard.  He assured me they would put the fence in the alley back together for us and no trees would be harmed.  He asked to borrow my power driver because his was frozen up apparently.
In the afternoon, we were notified that the sewer line kept dropping lower and lower and they couldn't find it. He said they'd have to hire someone else with a camera and it would be several more days until that happened. My partner left work to discuss all this with him and when he got hom,Matt was already gone and had filled up the trench with the soil.  He had also taken my power driver with him.  In talking with him on the phone, my partner learned he is not an Ed Gregg employee at all and was subcontracted.  We do not know his company or how to get our power driver back.
We called Ed twice today and were not satisfied with his concern or plan of action for correcting this.  He said he would call Matt and ask him to bring back my power driver and that we decided to find someone else to finsih the job.  He didn't offer a solution or guarantee that he would fix this mess for us.  I assured him I'd update our Angie's List review.
Four weeks with them and we are in worse shape than before we called them.
Are there ANY honest and accountable contractors in Indianapolis???

They showed up on time and were friendly and courteous.  They were as minimally invasive as possible and were accepting of my questions and concerns throughout the process.  The entire repair took only from 9am - 12pm and involved removing drywall and insulation, removing the cracked section of pipe and replacing with PVC and fittings.  While removing the cracked pipe, another leak showed up as a result of the movement and they replaced it as well.  I recommend them to anyone facing a major repair like this one.

The provider has been extremely unprofessional in timeliness of work performed, communication/paperwork with me regarding pricing, and customer service related concerns.  After the sump pump was replaced in January, it took an additional two months for this company to replace the sump pit lid.  It just did not seem like a major concern for the provider, even with me calling and reminding them.  Also, since there was no discussion or estimate given regarding the pricing of either the initial work performed and any future visits by the provider, I assumed that the lid replacement was included with the sump pump work since the provider destroyed the sump lid upon removing the old sump pump.  As the sump lid was finally being replaced in March, the provider broke a piece of my water softener causing it to be disabled from March through May.  The provider said that he would fix it, but never returned my phone calls, etc.  Therefore, I had to utilize and pay another provider to complete his service.  After another month of trying to touch base with the owner (Ed doesn't seem to return calls to unhappy customers), I received an Intention of the Provider to File a Mechanic's Lien since I did not pay for he work performed.  I tried to call Ed Gregg again and we finally discussed the entire situation. Ed firmly stands by his customer service, communication, and pricing and has now threatened to take me to small claims court.
I have been totaly dissatisfied with the professionalism and customer service of Ed Gregg's Plumbing and would not recommend this company to anybody.

Everything went great! We live in a one bathroom home and woke up to a clogged toilet on a Saturday morning.  We  did everything we could at home to release the clog but had no luck and finally started searching Angie's List for help around 11:30 on a Saturday afternoon.  Ed Gregg's picked up the phone and were able to come over within the hour. They were efficient and polite. I was in a bind and didn't know what to expect with such limited options and was pleasantly surprised.

During the 2 months after I got married in October and moved in my husband's home in December, there were a ton of plumbing repairs and renovations that needed to be done and there was always an awful stench in the house that we both always assumed it was something rotten in the crawl space. I called Ed Gregg Plumbing to actually get an estimate on something else. I had many different contractors giving me estimates on various things and he was the only one that as soon as he and a fellow plumber came in my house, they immediately mentioned we had a gas leak. He and the other fellow spent several minutes trying to locate the leak and they both confirmed it. He didn't even charge me for the time they spent confirming it. I didn't get an estimate at the time but I had a home renovations contractor already that said his plumber could look into it. He and other contractors I was using said their plumber either didn't have earth moving equipment to dig up rusted pipes under the garage concrete floor and through the crawl space, or have the gas company recommend someone to fix it. Well when I finally called Ed Gregg to come out and give an estimate, I was totally shocked that it was much easier and a whole lot cheaper than I thought! Instead of tearing out my garage floor to replace all the rusted rotten pipes under the cement floor, they simply ran a flex line from the gas meter on the side of the house, up through the attic across the garage and house and down to the furnace and water heater! I was so impressed that he was not only the only plumber that immediately noticed the gas leak, but also the only plumber that suggested using a flex line across the attic! There was a problem getting the gas man to turn on the gas because there were still leaks, but they came back out and patched up leaks on the pipes attached from the flex line to the furnace. The gas man still wouldn't turn on the gas, but he then patched up leaks on the old pipes attached between the flex line and the meter. That awful smell immediately went away and most importantly, the gas leak got fixed for a lot less work than we thought was needed. Since then, Ed Gregg Plumbing has done several plumbing jobs for me and he is the only plumber I trust who will come out quickly to give an estimate, and will do the work promptly and do it professionally.

When I first talked to them they said it was a free estimate. Then they didn't call me back, I had to call them back. When I did they said it would be $85.00 an hour to give me an estimate, without even knowing what work was to be done.
Response from Ed Gregg's Plumbing, Inc.
"Customer called and asked for an estimate to our answering service. They told her we would call before we came out to give the estimate. When estimator was given this call, we told customer if she had leaks in different areas and didn't know where they are coming from, we were unable to estimate. The price would be $85.00 hour plus material to find and fix leaks and make repairs. No company can give an accurate price on leaks that are not visible. We are sorry for the confussion and inconvience."

I recommended Gregg's plumbing to one of my clients.  They had a stopped up sewer drain in their restaurant and were shut down until they had working plumbing.  Gregg's showed up and cleared the drain by lunch time allowing the business to serve lunch and not lose business.   Best of all they cleaned up before they left and were very polite and quick about their work..
