Went just fine

Initial inspection for the quote went well in late July, 2015. After receiving the quote I signed it and sent it to the email provided and left a message with Duke Fence Co.'s phone answering service asking about schedule. Jeff and I spoke over the phone in August, he said it would only be a half-day job and that he would schedule me in the next couple of weeks around bigger projects. I agreed. Agreement was signed and sent to Duke Fence on August 5th. 
Utility locates, probably scheduled by Duke Fence, were done on September 2nd, 2015.
Since then (now late November), I have heard nothing from Duke Fence and haven't seen any progress made. For the past three months, I have emailed multiple times and left 4 or 5 voicemail with the Duke Fence answering service. Every time I call, they take a message and have no information for me about what is taking so long. The answering service cannot even tell me if Jeff still works there.
Jeff has not called me back since our conversation in early August.

Update (11/24/2015) - Received a call from Jeff Carr with Duke Fence. He was apologetic and we discussed what happened with the job - it sounded like an honest mistake on their part with some paperwork. Does not explain the unresponsiveness to calls and emails, but it sounds like they are going to make it right. Scheduled the work for a week from now due to material availability. Will update in two weeks or when work is finished.

Update (12/14/2015) - Work was completed by Duke Fence Company last week. I am now a satisfied customer. The initial unresponsiveness seems like it was an honest clerical error. Jeff Carr and Duke fence corrected the issue and got the fence built. Overall I am satisfied. Craftsmanship was great. Workers were tidy. The only evidence left in my yard was a little sawdust and new fencing. I will leave my initial review up, but I have changed my score to reflect the high quality end product and reasonable price.

I would never use this company again.

Very responsive in coming out to do look at the job & getting the estimate emailed to me. It took about a month before they came to install the hand rail. But they were prompt and had the hand rail installed within a half hour. I would definitely use Duke Fence again.

They did a great job! They did everything I asked right to the letter.  Their price was also perfect. They didn't try to force me into replacing the whole fence, just the repair I asked for.  I was very impressed.

The company quoted a good price for installing split rail fencing along a section of road frontage on our property, including the installation of two large diameter steel pipe gate posts for a gate that I intended to install at a later date. I made it clear that I wanted the posts buried deep in the ground and set in concrete to make them as sturdy as possible, and if he (Jeff Carr, the business owner) didn't feel comfortable doing this, I would do it myself. He agreed they would do it as requested. The business owner made it clear that they had a backlog and couldn't get to my job for several weeks, which was fine. They started the work when they said they would. When I got home from work on the day they set the posts, I noticed that the gate posts weren't buried very deep. I contacted the owner and told him about my concern. He said that they had buried the posts at least 30 inches deep. I knew that wasn't the case, because I knew how long the posts were, and how far they were sticking out of the ground. I removed one of the posts, took pictures of it, and emailed them to Mr. Carr. He said that they had run into a section of old driveway at about two feet down and couldn't go any deeper. I stated again that if they didn't feel comfortable taking care of this, I would do it myself. He said they would do it. They came a few days later to finish the rest of the fence, and when I got home from work, I found that only one of the posts had been dug deeper and replaced (the one I had removed). At this point, I just wanted to be done with it, so I paid the invoice and replaced the other post myself. When I dug the hole deeper, I did not run into a section of old driveway. I was able to bury it over three feet deep.

My neighbor used them and was happy with them and referred them to me. They were very polite. The pricing was competitive. They did such a great job.

I'm very happy. It is sturdy, even though it is a windy area. They took time to measure. I mapped out exactly what I anted this design to look like, and they made sure everything was straight, even, and aligned.

When I called, an estimate date was set in the following week.  Estimator, Jeff Carr, arrived on schedule. Estimate was sent in a few days by e-mail.  I sent a deposit check in immediately but did not hear for  a while when I might expect it to be installed (although I had not requested an installation date.)   When I called, I was given the approximate date for the following week and was given a report on the status of the work.   Railings were installed today, and the results are all that I asked for.  It was a very satisfactory



experience all the way through.

Arrived promptly at the scheduled time.  They set the posts in concrete and came back a few days later to complete the work.  The fence looks great and the construction is solid.  I chose them based on the Angie's List reviews and the many Duke fences I've seen in my area.  I'm glad I went with them!

I called and requested an estimate. Received detailed quote 2-3 days later. They completed the work about 2 days after I accepted their quote.

It went fine.  It only took a few hours to get finished.  My dog is really happy with the arrangement.

After looking at several reviews on Angieslist, we decided to get quotes from 3 companies. Duke Fence Co was the cheapest quote we received. We had seen a fence Duke had installed in our friend's neighborhood and liked the quality of work they did, so we decided to go with Duke. Jeff came out for the initial estimate on a Saturday and was very knowledgable. He answered several of our questions on site. Monday morning Jeff emailed the quote to us. We had to submit the quote and plans to our Home Owner's Association for approval prior to starting any work. About a week later, the HOA approved our plans. I immediately contacted Jeff to advise him of our approval and to schedule them to come out and start the fence. The work was supposed to start on December 27th, but due to the "blizzard", the work was delayed.
Jeff contacted us on Jan. 7th to advise that his crew would be out the next morning to begin working on the fence. We were shocked because there was still around 2 inches of snow on the ground.
The next morning, Jan. 8th, the crew arrived right on time at 10am. I walked the yard with one of the crew members to insure they had the proper placement of the fence line and to advise him on where we wanted our 2 gates to be installed at. The crew began to dig the holes for the posts and to set the posts in concrete. They couldn't set 3 of the posts due to running out of concrete, but they let us know that they would be back out sometime in the next couple of days to set the remainder of the posts. All of the holes were dug and posts were set that day within 3 hours (except the 3 posts previously mentioned).
Jan. 10th, a gentleman came out and set the remaining 3 posts in concrete.
Jan. 11th, a crew arrived in the morning and began installing the rails (minus 5 sections due some of the posts being set in concrete the day before). The crew also began installing the boards at the same time. They were on site for about 3 hours and had approx. 1/4 of the yard finished.
Jan. 14th, the crew arrived in the morning and completely finished installing the remaining rails and the remaining boards.
Overall, the crew was extremely thorough and quick. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is looking for a quality privacy fence that won't cost them an arm and a leg.
The only negative I would have to say is the fact that besides the first day of work, we weren't informed of when the crew would be on site to work on the fence. It would have been nice to have received a call the day prior advising us that the crew would be coming out the following day to work on the fence.

They did a good job with the fence.  It was at a relatively reasonable price.  It was a good combination of quality and value.  They also did make an error when they initially installed the fence.  They just didn’t put a gate in the correct place.  As soon as I pointed it out, they were out the next day and fixed it.  Everything was fine.

I liked them a lot. They were on time, and provided great service. They did a good job. They were professional, punctual and responsive.

The job went well. First was the installation of posts and then the fence was installed. We had delays on the gates as those parts were not in.

We recently had a garage built where our back fence once stood. We e-mailed several fence companies about rehanging our gate and bringing the fence closer to the garage on the other side. Duke Fence Co. was one of the first companies to respond, they had the lowest quote and they performed quality work, and quickly. We were very satisfied!

Arrived on time to set up posts as outlined in estimate. Was a day late in finishing job. After completion I found two small holes in the fence that were large enough for our new dog to squeeze through, I emailed Jeff at Duke Fencing to come and repair and they showed up to fix it the next day. The job was completed to my satisfaction at no additional charge. I can safely leave my new little dog in the backyard to play now. I am very pleased with the response.
