Larry Dorfman was excellent to work with. He is affable and easy to get in touch with. He was on the scene almost everyday overseeing that the work is progressing accordingly.He is attentive to the thoughts of the client and tries to keep his client happy. If somethings not going the way I want it to he immediately addresses the issue and takes corrective action. He develops an allegiance to his client and is truly the representative of his client in dealing with the various subcontractors. Overall, it was a pleasant and fulfilling experience and I am very proud of the results of the construction.

He gets decent pricing and then his price is a percentage over that. I am happy with him. He is very nice. He has got good people working for him. He did a great job for us.

Larry described in detail the procedures and what we could expect in terms of dust and noise. He constructed a "tunnel" from the nearest outside door to the rooms that needed work, so that entry into the rest of our house was at a minimum. The workers he sent were polite and punctual. They did the work they were assigned. In addition, there was a project manager on site at some point virtually every day. We were very satisfied with the process. A clean-up crew was provided at the end so that the affected rooms were thoroughly cleaned and we were not left with that job ourselves. The only "misstep" was that he failed to see 1 particular significant problem area the first time around, so the initial estimate had to be revised upwards. Larry came highly recommended by a reliable source. It was very important to us to use someone in whom we could have utter confidence. Therefore, we elected to use him and did not price the job with other providers.

"We were quite surprised to see this response from Member. We have not heard from them since our last dunn notice for $3,900 worth of concrete work, they did not pay for. We are very responsive to our clients and have not heard any complaints from the Members. Their project was a total two-story burn out and was started March 14, 2007 and completed May of 2008. We find it hard to believe that it has taken this long to find fault with our work. Had they contacted us regarding any items we would have taken care of them, regardless of whether they had paid their bill. Dorfman Design Builders stands behind their work and takes pride in our goodwill towards our clients."

This was about the 4th or 5th time we have had Dorfman Design Builder do work for us e.g they put in a gas fireplace in our previous house where no fireplace existed. That will tell you how we feel about the quality of work. They know what they are doing and do a very nice job. IF, however, you do a change order that will cause additional work (which usually is the case), be prepared to have your job take a little longer. You get "out of the que" because of all the scheduling that has to occur. But they do all the scheduling and it has always been very worth it. And if there is a problem, they will do what it takes to make it right. Also, I never felt uncomfortable with the lock box on my door. The staff are professional and people I trust to be in my house when I am not there. And they really know what they are doing.

We recently discovered all our windows needed to be replaced. Larry at Dorfman Design Builders provided us with estimates for different types of windows, explaining the benefits of each type. Once we made our selection and the windows arrived, they started the process of removing and replacing all the windows, one at a time. All the carpenters that participated in the project were more than pleasant, always professional, and dedicated to do a job they could be proud of. They provided site protection to limit the dust and debris during the process and were careful to take care of the furnishings in our home. Vern, the lead carpenter, kept in constant communication to be certain we were happy with the work. With all said and done, the windows and the new trim look beautiful! I absolutely would hire Dorfman Design Builders for future projects.

INITIAL WORK DONE WAS GREAT - THEN THERE WAS SIGNIFICANT DELAY IN COMPLETING DESIRED WORK OUTSIDE THE HOUSE.

"DORFMAN DESIGN BUILDERS MAKES EVERY ATTEMPT TO PROVIDE OUR SERVICES IN A TIMELY MANNER. THERE ARE OCCASIONS WHEN PREVIOUSLY SCHEDULED PROJECTS, CLIENTS AND/OR WEATHER PREVENT PROMPT RESPONSES. WE RESPONDED QUICKLY TO DIAGNOSE HIS PROBLEM WITH WATER IN HIS BASEMENT. WE MET WITH HIM ON JULY 10, 2004. HE WAS PROVIDED A PROPOSAL FOR WORK TO CORRECT THE CAUSE OF WATER IN HIS BASEMENT ON JULY 19, 2004. WE REMOVED ALL WET AND DAMAGED DRYWALL, THE BASEMENT SHOWER AND INSTALLED SITE PROTECTION TO PREVENT FURTHER DAMAGE ON JULY 26, 2004. OUR PROPOSAL WAS NOT ACCEPTED BY HIM UNTIL NOVEMBER 22, 2004 WHEN THE DOWN PAYMENT WAS RECEIVED BY OUR OFFICE. AT THIS TIME OF YEAR THE WEATHER WAS FAILING AND THE EXTERIOR WORK COULD NOT BE DONE. HIS PROJECT WAS PUT INTO OUR SCHEDULE FOR SPRING OF 2005. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED AND PAID FOR IN MAY 2005. HE SIGNED A NEW PROPOSAL IN JUNE 2005 TO HAVE ADDITIONAL WORK DONE BY OUR COMPANY. THE WORK WAS COMPLETED IN AUGUST 2005. TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE, HE AND HIS WIFE WERE VERY PLEASED WITH THE PROJECT OUTCOME. WE REGRET THAT HE FELT COMPELLED TO GIVE OUR COMPANY A NEGATIVE REPORT. DORFMAN DESIGN BUILDERS HAS ALWAYS AND WILL CONTINUE TO PUT OUR CLIENTS NEEDS FIRST."
