Working with Deco Art was the worst experience of our entire remodeling project.  They were a disaster from start to finish.  Here's the list of all the things that were handled inappropriately/incorrectly on our project:  1.  I met with Jonathon and described in detail how I wanted the window sills finished - edging, trim, etc.  They were not fabricated correctly in their shop, and Jonathon's initial response to me was, "oh well, what's done is done."  They finally recut the sills to finish the edges correctly, but some are not deep enough, leaving a gap between the sill and the window.  2.  I told Jonathon how I wanted the edges of the counter tops finished.  He wrote it down - I watched him write it down - and they're not finished correctly.  3.  They left a 1 inch over hang in the area where the stove was supposed to be installed, so the stove wouldn't fit.  When we finally got them back to fix it, they cut the stone crooked and then didn't polish and finish the edges.  After 5 different calls asking them to come back and polish the edges, they did, but they didn't finish them evenly, so in areas, they are jagged and cut in too deeply and then cannot be repaired as they cut out too much stone.  4.  They drilled the holes for my sink faucet and filtered water dispenser too closely together (again, something that can't be undone or fixed - a permanent screw up) and as a result, the sink faucet had to be installed with the handle on the left instead of the right.  In order to fix it, I'm going to have to buy a new faucet that requires 2 holes instead of 1, pay a plumber to install it and then pay a fabricator to come out and drill a new hole for the filtered water dispenser.  5.  They cracked the countertop and knocked a chip out along the edges of the crack, and were never man enough to tell us they did it.  They put some epoxy in the chip and tried to pretend like it never happened. On top of all of this, as part of our agreement, they were supposed to fabricate a bathroom countertop for us out of marble we salvaged from the demolition of the original bathrooms.  After we agreed to work with them, they tried to say that old marble wasn't a viable option for the countertop.  Jonathon told me there wasn't enough marble, in the right widths, etc.  Ironically, we found a more proactive fabricator who was able to make a beautiful countertop that looks original the the house since it was made with marble that exactly matches the marble on the floors. Clearly, this entire project was a disaster, and it was like pulling teeth to get Deco Art to negotiate even $1,500 off our bill (which won't even cover the cost of hiring someone else to fabricate the bathroom counter top and paying to replace/move the kitchen faucet).  I wouldn't wish this experience on my worst enemy.

Alberto Bonvino arrived promptly at my home for detailed measurements, explanation of his process, comparisons with other material such as Corian and engineered stone and concrete.  His quote arrived the next day and was very competitive.  Alberto met us at the granite slab supplier to select the specific slab and agreed on installation date.  He and his crew showed up on time and efficiently removed the old countertops and sink and installed the new granite tops.  The crew was courteous and cleaned up after.  I would recommend and use Decoart again. Note Decoart now at new location 8120 Zionville Road, Indianapolis.

They were professional and they cleaned up after themselves. The price was very reasonable. It was a little hard for me to understand him because he was a native of another country.
