Danny Dunn's Drywall and Plaster Repairs

I initially Danny was very friendly and professional. I hired him to repair plaster damage on ceiling, then a few weeks later, repair damaged plaster walls. He completed the work and I primed all areas only to discover 100s and 100s of tiny air bubbles everywhere. He had stated that all areas would be ready to paint within 1-2 days. I read on line some articles about how air bubbles occur and one stated that if sanded prior to completely dry, some of the dust settles back into the surface, creating bubbles. I called him and told him of the air bubbles everywhere. He came back, on 2 consecutive days to skim more "mud" over all of the areas of bubbles on the ceiling and walls. The next day he was here for only about 40-45 minutes to re-sand all areas (4 walls and ceiling). I called him a few days later with a question about the ceiling and he was short and defensive in his response. I then spent about 40 hours total repainting the ceiling (required 5 coats...2 coats of primer, 3 of ceiling paint) and the walls had 2 coats of primer and 2 top coats of quality paint that had primer in it...A few weeks later, in an area that had extensive plaster damage, I noticed the paint was VERY rough, bubbled and poorly sanded. I texted Danny several pictures (see attached photos below) and asked if he would call me, to discuss and/or make recommendations. No response from Danny. I sent him the photos again and again and asked him to contact me. I told him that I thought it was rude and unprofessional to not respond. Again, no response. Overall, I would say his work was "Fair" but due to his lack of response, I would now rate his services as POOR. He initially was pleasant and nice, but when recurrent problems occurred, he was no longer responsive, nor professional. He took the money and ran. Very disappointing! Would not recommend him and I will not be using him again.

Danny was punctual and called to let me know he was in route. He worked efficiently and effectively, was careful about protecting adjacent areas and cleaned the work area up very well. He completed the work very professionally in minimal time and for a reasonable price. I would highly recommend him.

Very well. Danny was on time, his charge was reasonable and the work was professional.

We hired Danny. He did a wonderful job repairing the ceilings. He removed the damaged areas and replastered them and then textured them to match the rest of the ceilings. After the ceilings were painted, you cannot even tell there had been any repair ever. Danny was extremely professional. He was prompt and he called one day when he was going to be a few minutes late. He finished the job as scheduled. He put up partitions to enclose the areas he was working on to minimize the dust and mess. He went above and beyond. He was personable and polite and truly a joy to deal with. We recommend him highly.

We had taken the wallpaper down in one of the rooms just to find out that what what underneath was horrible! Drywall had holes and was damaged in many place and just uneven all around, and had glue stuck to it on top of it all. Danny was fantastic! A couple of big (6 inch wide) holes were repaired so that I couldn't even tell there were there before. The walls were skimmed and were smooth to touch and ready to paint. We've painted since and the room looks wonderful! Very pleased!

Great job and a great experience with this provider. Danny was easy to work with and arrived at the scheduled time. His drywall and plaster skills are amazing, he was able to match ceiling texture perfectly. It's impossible now to tell where the repairs were made, he did such a good job. When finished he cleaned everything up and left everything in order. Price was very reasonable for the work performed. Would highly recommend this provider and would definitely work with him again.

Dan is an excellent provider of professional, and quality work. Upon arrival at the scheduled time, he began work immediately. He first set up a protective wall surrounding the area to be repaired. This kept all the dust and such confined to the small area. He removed the damaged drywall, added a section of wall stud, replaced the drywall, mudded the repaired area, cleaned up, and went to another job. Total time was 31/2 hours...GREAT!!!! Next day in early morning (8:45) he arrived, put up the wall again, sanded the repaired section, cleaned up, and left. Total time was 1 hour.

All I can say is...., if you NEED and expect great work at a very reasonable cost, then Mr. Dunn is the man to contact. If I ever need drywall repair again, I will definitely contact him again

I'm also planning on seeing if he can do some interior remodeling for me very soon.

He is fantastic. He is truly an artist. It takes a certain type of skill to match the ceiling pattern and he was able to totally match it. I wouldn't have cared if he was 4 days late, I would have still used him for the job.

He's an all around handyman and he is an A big time he is just great. We sometimes have to wait on him but thats the nature of the construction business. He is truly an artist. He had to do our ceilings and he totally matched it perfectly.
