So, these folks wanted to sell me a bagger for my 2024 Toro mower that they had to have delivered from Toro directly. The tatted gal behind the counter told me there was a $100 shipping fee that was charged my Toro and not them. When I questioned this charge, she reassured me that there was nothing she could do about it because it was a charge directly from Toro. So, I then filed a complaint with the Consumer Protection Agency because hidden shipping fees is a scam. So, Toro replied to the complaint by making it perfectly clear that this charge was being brought on by Southport Lawn Equipment themselves and Toro does not charge this added fee. I emailed Southport Lawn to Gert clarity on this charge and, as no surprise, they ignored my email. This gal straight up LIED to me just to rob me of $100! They will lie to your face too, even when you question them. So if this has happened to you, you'd best follow up and demand your money back. It's illegal to scam folks out of their hard earned money and these people have np problem doing so.

Bad. Mower returned with no key and a dead battery. After paying to charge battery ran mower for 15 minutes and mower belt was shredded. Brake did not work. I went back to shop and was told motor was tested before they returned it and the belt was not their problem. They would look at the brake but I would have to get mower back to shop or have it picked up by them. Another $55.

They estimated 3-4 weeks but it took over twice that amount of time. I had a difficult time getting them to call me back when I asked for progress reports. I kept having to call until someone live picked up. Finally when the mowers came back to me - the riding mower had the original issue (transmission) along with a new throttle problem that I'm still living with today. When I called to talk about next steps I was told the mower was older and that I should expect issues and there was nothing they could do.

They replaced my head gasket and performed the tune-up I requested in the time frame promised. Now my engine runs fine with no smoking and cuts better now that the blades are sharp.

Unfortunately, my visit to their store didn't go well. I understand there were only 2 employees working in the store on this Saturday, July 16, but I patiently waited my turn at the counter like other customers. So, when it was my turn to ask for help, I asked for my belt with the part number given to me by them the day before. I didn't know at the time I was given the part number, that there were 3 belts on the mower. So, I asked him if there was a difference between the 2 that weren't the cog belt. He said he didn't know because there's too many mowers to keep tracked of. I bought this mower in May of 2015 for $1000 which they took gladly then. I think he could have looked it up on his computer and been more helpful than that! I then asked him for the spark plug and he said what's my engine number and I told him I didn't have that number on me. Once again, he could have looked that up, too. Instead of treating me with any respect as a paying customer, he basically just stared at me. He then said that the engine could have been changed since last years model. I wanted to ask him another question about a different product but decided to leave well enough alone. What doesn't make sense to me is that on their website they take pride in saying that they are highly certified and are knowledgable about their products. To me, it doesn't show and they come off as being confrontational. As stated earlier, they sure didn't mind taking my money last year when they sold me my mower. Even when I bought the mower I asked what their return policy was. This was a different guy who I believe was one of the owners, (about 6' tall balding curly black hair), and told me they don't take returns! After reading other reviews with the same experience, I would warn others to be aware of their callous attitude and rude customer service. I, for one, will never be back and that's really too bad since they have a convenient location for me. I'll take my business to Home Depot or Henthorns. Henthorns is clearly out of my way but they provide much better customer service. I'm really surprised that they have been in business for as long as they have. I always like building a good relationship with a small business, but Dannemiller, you will not be seeing me again!

Their customer service is pretty good but there was a miscommunication on bringing the mower in. The prices were reasonable. Sales, service and location were great!

I took the mower in for the regular maintenance and they found there was a problem with the self-propelled mechanism. I was happy with everything except last year they seemed to have it for quite a long time. I understand that because I took it in later in the spring. I think, originally, they told me they would get it back to me in two weeks, but it took at least four to get it back. I was not happy with the fact that somebody did not call and say it was going to be longer and they were really backlogged. Other than that their pricing was consistent with a year later. They charge $50 to pick up and deliver and that did not change over the two years I have used them. I would recommend them for the pick up and delivery and because they do good work, but I would make sure I understood when they were going to pick up and deliver my mower. I would arrange to have my mower taken it early to get ahead of the spring rush. I think doing business with the company is fine. The pricing seems okay to me. The mower ran fine all year and their service was okay. They picked it up when they said they would.

I like their service because they pick up and deliver. The first year I used them I thought they were slow in getting them done but I understood. But I did not like that I did not get a call when it took longer, but I did not have problems with that this year.

Simple repair that took about 5 weeks. I was told about the long delay at the beginning because of a back-up in the shop. Didn't like it but the work was done and the price was fair so this is not really a complaint, just a statement of fact.

We had a on going problem with the safety switches on the mower. We first bought parts ,from Dannemillers. When I went there to purchase the switches I took the model and serial numbers only to be told our mower did not have a safety switch on the brake. It turned out it did and all switches have to be engaged. After purchasing the switches and at home looking up the service manual on the computer to get the part number of the brake switch and returning to get that switch was told that if it was not the switches it might be the and quot;moduleand quot; which is a 45 dollar part. The mower ran with the replacement of those parts. Then it started having a problem backfiring. Afraid I had done something in replacing the switches and module I took the mower to their shop. Where I was told that it not only had an electrical issue but had a cracked head from the backfiring. I found that hard to believe but was told they had torn it down enough to determine that was the problem. We were given numerous dates the head would be in. It ran into not only weeks but over a month and a half only to be called and told we now have another date when the head will arrive. When it did finally arrive they called and told us it was in and gave me a new date when mower would be done and that they made a mistake on the estimate that it would be about 300 dollars more than they quoted. I went there and discussed this with them which was a heated conversation with them lacking any understanding of my position. I would say very unprofessional. At that point I had no choice but have them continue. It took a few more weeks to get the mower repaired. When it was complete I asked for the old parts. I was given a head back that was NOT cracked but had a screw under the intake valve also I was told they had to replace the module again. I again had a discussion that was very frustrating. Telling us we could either pay the bill or give them the mower. It is a few thousand to replace the mower. They brought the mower back and it ran for 1 1/2 mowing of the yard when it again quit. I then I replaced the module with the old one that they said was bad. It ran for a short time and quit again. Rather than take it back to them we paid to have our lawn mowed. I then took it to Henthorn which was the exact opposite experience. I would never ever darken Dannemiller's shop again for any reason.and I would recommend Henthorn to anybody.

I took my walk behind power lawnmower to these people on 5/28/13 to have the single blade sharpened. I was told it would be ready by noon the following day 5/29/13. When I arrived they informed me that whomever took the original order had misfiled it and that the service had not been done. When I told them I expect things to be ready on time the salesman seemed more interested in arguing with me. and quot; You don't make mistakes?and quot; he said. Yes, in coming to this store. There are no excuses. Mistakes are made and they need to accept them including the anger of the customer without engaging in a debate.
I will never use this place of business again...not because they made a mistake...but because they argued basically saying I had no right to be upset.

I don't really know what the going rate should be but I was very very satisfied with them. They actually got it back to me prior to the date expected. I immediately took my edger in. I would buy here and I would take lawn or small engine equipment here. Currently there is about a month wait time but early Spring I would expect that.
They have my vote..
5/13/2013 Took it to their location.

8/122013 Okay one more update. The blower started shutting off after 7 -8 minutes unless the fuel tank was over flowing.
I took it to them once again and from the front repair desk the gentleman and lady looked at it and found it had a plugged vent hole on the gas cap. Once cleared, started right up.
They have been great!

They pick my lawn mower up service it and then deliver it back. I am using them a second time this year because they repaired the lawnmower and they did a good job with that but I have to say that they could have been better on communication last year. But because I thought it was partly caused by the original provider did not get a part to them, the delay in getting it back to me was not entirely their fault. But they could have communicated better. I think they charge $50 to pick it up and deliver it. I really like them and they do good work. The only thing that was wrong is that they told me that they were running about two weeks out and they would have it out in two weeks. Now I did send it in a little later. I think they had it about for 4 weeks. The problem was that they needed a part to repair the part the self propelled mechanism and they said that the original makers were not good at getting them the parts. That was after I had stopped by there once, called them once and finally stopped by because they were not calling me back. Then they gave me the reason which I don't doubt but they could have told me that. Apart from that they were always willing to answer my questions, and always polite.

I called to see if they fixed snow blowers and if they had pick-up and delivery service. The answer was yes to both. They were very punctual to the time I needed. They fixed it and returned it the next day.
The people were very nice to work with too on the phone and in person.

I purchased a mower from a large hardware store on 5/8/08 with a two year warranty on parts. The cable that is used to propel the mower broke on the end by the handle. Dannemiller is an "official Toro dealer", so i loaded the mower into the van with my proof of purchase receipt. When i presented it to the gentleman behind the counter he said he had "200 people ahead of me and it would take 30 days, but if i had bought my mower from them instead of this place [pointing to my receipt], it could be alot sooner". I said "you mean if i leave my mower here now you would fix it under warranty but in the mean time i would have to pay someone to cut my grass 4 times". He said "yes".I felt lucky to have had some experience in working on mowers that i believe i can install this cable, i dont know what someone that didnt would do. I purchased the cable and left..
