All aspects of the service went well.

Custom Colors Painting did an outstanding job painting the exterior of our home. They helped us with our color selections by painting several body and trim color samples on a small area of the house, which really helped us visualize what the house would look like when complete. Mark is very good with color and gave us some great suggestions on enhancing the look of our home. They thoroughly pressure washed the house and caulked all the joints before painting. The crew was very professional, polite, punctual and detail oriented. They kept the work areas clean and organized throughout the project. After the painting was completed, they even cleaned the outside of our windows and raked the footprints out of the mulch around the house. They were great to work with and we are very pleased with the results!

We are very happy with the job Custom Colors did for us. For us, the most commendable aspect of their service was their attention to detail. The interior of our house had not been painted for over 10 years, and as a result, the walls and ceilings had a lot of issues. None of these were major issues, but there were quite a lot of cracks, nail holes from wall hangings, a few minor water stains, etc. Now that Custom Colors is done, our house looks brand new. There is not a blemish to be seen. The edges are very sharp. There aren't any splotches, etc.
Beyond the attention to detail, the crew was very polite, asking permission for minor things, like using our kitchen table to eat their lunch. (Of course that was fine, it was below freezing outside!) It seems like they have been working together for a long time, as everyone seemed to know what their role was, and were very efficient.
They were willing to do a few little extras, like wiping some grime off the wallpaper up high. (This room we were just having the ceiling done. The wallpaper stayed. But since they were already up there on the ladders...)
Being able to work at home, we gave them an extremely flexible schedule. We said we didn't care on which date they started, or how long they worked. So, I feel we can't comment on things like punctuality. Nevertheless, they arrived promptly at 8:30 each morning and finished the job sooner than estimated (around 3 days).
At the end of each day, they put the house back together as much as possible, even though we said we were willing to live around any mess. They took pictures before starting the job, and used them to arrange the furniture as it was before they started.
Since we can't really find any thing to fault them on, we gave them an A in every category, and would use them again if/when we paint again.

We have hired Custom Colors for two different painting jobs in the past 7 years. They are very professional. They have a crew that arrived on time every day, worked surprisingly quickly, and kept the work areas clean. They kept us informed throughout the process. Their bid was very competitive, and there were no surprises on price or timeline...the job cost what they said it would cost, and they started and finished on time based on their original estimate. Overall - this company is very professional and does excellent work. Also, the owner (Mark) is very visible and accessible throughout the project. We will continue to hire them in the future.

This is the second time that I have used Custom Colors.  Hands down they do quality work.  They completed all four rooms in one day using a team of 5-6 painters that have been with the company for a while. I will bring them back for exterior painting to be scheduled for Spring 2016.

Mark, Bob, and their crew were exceptional professionals. At first we thought we wouldn't go with Mark. He was a bit more expensive than the other bids we got. But ultimately we decided it would be worth it. When we found out that we needed to get the job done sooner than anticipated, Mark got us set up for work to begin within the week. Ten days later the whole project was done, with the work taking only six days. 
The painting quality was excellent. And Mark recommended excellent colors for our house to go on the market. When they left, you could hardly tell a crew had been there. They cleaned up and even hand-wiped the windows. 
Great service, hands down.

I met with Mark and he gave me a fair quote and even suggested things I hadn't thought of, like refinishing our banister.  Bob and crew were always timely, polite and very respectful of us and our house.  The crew was with us a week and I couldn't be more pleased with their professionalism and the quality of the work.  They took pride in their work and honestly were just as careful as I would have been.
They consulted on color selection and were very helpful with that part of the job.
I had been clearing rooms, as best I could, before they painted and at the end of the week they were ahead of me.  My husband's office was the last room to be painted and every wall is covered with photos and shelves with trophies.  Bob and crew took pictures of all the items, removed them, painted the walls, and put everything back perfectly and finished ahead of schedule.  I could not be more pleased!
Following the whole-house paint job, we had all flooring in the house replaced.  Bob and a small crew came back after the January floor job and re-caulked and painted the shoe molding and touched up the walls and banister that were banged up when the carpet was installed.
Will definitely have them back - hopefully this summer to paint our exterior!!

I wrote a wonderful review prematurely!  After the job was done I noticed that they forgot to paint the trim around the front door (interior).  Also on the banisters that they stained, I noticed a white film kept forming on them which never happened before.
I contacted, Mark several times and each time he told me he would call me in  a few weeks...he never did.  I would call him and got the same response..I will call you, we are in the middle of a big job. Really? That is what you tell customers?  I do not think they want to come back and take care of issues.  Also, I started looking more closely at their work and noticed they did not take handles off of cabinets and you can clearly see brush marks around the handles where the rest of the cabinet doors were rolled.
My take is they do not come back if there is a problem...which they will tell you they do.  Sorry I gave such a good report earlier.

They were really good value and they did a high quality paint job for the price. They were great on everything.

Carpet was installed a day early because painting finished so quickly and beautifully.  Painters were always timely and called me to let me know when they were arriving each day even though it was planned for.  Crew was professional, hard working and respectful of the rest of the house that was not being painted.  House locked each day as instructed whenever they left.  I like to pay a fair amount to someone for excellent quality and service and then want the work/repair to last a LONG time.  I do not like do-overs so pay extra for that piece of mind.  This crew knows old homes and Mark has had the same foreman for decades so crews function as a good team. 

Mark came in and gave me a speedy, fair quote. Gave me a start date that he stuck to and completed the project better than agreed. This happened as we were selling the home and the new buyers wanted some color changes and Mark got a crew back in and had the home ready for closing 18 days later. He also helped us with some other services such as cleaning, carpet, and light construction.

Mark was very particular in matching the original paint color and matching the exact kind of paint which no one ever did before. He did not oversell and was very honest about what needed to be done.
His crew led by Bob, were very punctual.  Clean up was excellent.

They told me that they had craft people that could match the ceiling and it ended up that they couldn't match it.  They were out here a total of 5 times trying to match it and they were never sucessful.

Mark, Bob, & Team are wonderful!!!  We have used Custom Colors several times and each time they have been great - from start to finish!!!!

Mark Mathis, the owner, and his crew run by Bob are "hands down" the best painters on the northside of Indpls. I've had a lot of painting done over the last 20 yrs, and I've never encountered a painting team w/more integrity, comprehensive eye for detail, and a "can do" attitude.
Their price is fair, Mark understood the nature and time frame for our project, and even though he's in the busiest time of the year for him, he was able to fit his crew in to our timeframe.
I will never utilize another painter again, I highly recommend others giving Custom Colors Painting Co., their projects !!

Mark Mathis is the owner of this company.  I was very pleased with the price and quality of the work.  They were punctual and they did what they promised.  The thing that I felt that was pretty amazing was that the quote they gave me originally was like $13000 but it cost less to do it than they expected in terms of just that, they had padded the estimate just to cover their butts in case they ran into issues.  Since they did not have problems, though it was a hard house to paint but they were able to do it and that is why they did not charge me that much.

They did a great job.

They were professional, timely and responsive.  His price was less than the other companies that we compared him to.  We were in need of some repair to our home.  Mark recommended a guy named Bobby Hooper.  Excellent work by Bobby too!

These folks are very professional.  I called Customer Colors Painting Company and spoke to Mark (I believe he is the owner) and he scheduled an appointment to give me an estimate.

The estimate was "per room"  and trim and ceilings were included in the quote but were optional.  Custom Colors did a very good job.  Crew showed up on time, was very meticulous about their work and did an excellent job cleaning up afterwards.  I would use this company again.

They are a very responsible group. They're competitive, friendly, and meticulous about how they go about their work. They are reasonably priced compared to anybody else and the quality is absolutely outstanding. I've recommended them even to a passed governor who I worked with at one time, but it was a bid situation and it did not go to them. Mark and his crew are just terrific skilled craftsman. He did work at my daughters house and at my parents house when they were alive. He came as a recommendation to us and we were very pleased and felt that he and his crew were very competent.
