CURT & JERRY SEWER SERVICE

I had Curt and Jerry come out about 4 times because the sewer would work for about a month and then it would back up again into the basement floor drain leaving sewage all over the floor. Instead of the large machines that need two people to haul downstairs, they were using a screw gun with a cable attached. That type of tool is not designed to clear out main sewer lines. The cutter is too small and the tool not powerful enough for clearing a 6" line. So they would poke a hole through the roots, clearing out enough that sewer would work for a month or two, and then the roots would fill back in. I learned that they are notorious for this. I was wasting my time and my money because although they guarantee their work for 3 months, after that they keep charging every time they come out. In addition, they were unreliable on time. They would give a window of time, but never stick to it, leading to me and my tenant wasting a whole day until they finally showed. Altogether a major rip-off.

Great! Curt and Jerry's is the only sewer service I could find that was willing to give me a price quote over the phone, and they stuck to it. They also give a one-year warranty if they need to come out again. They came out the same day, just took a few hours for them to show up. Had to go up exterior steps to get into the home, then downstairs to the basement. That's a lot of lugging of a 250 lb machine. They knew what they were doing and got it done quickly. They make their own flexible cutter heads which are larger than the pre-made ones and worked well. Very happy with them! Just wish they got paid better for the hard work they do.

Had a main sewer line blocked. Had one company out 2 days in a row, the guy finally gave up. A friend suggested Curt and Jerry Sewer Service. They showed up on time, worked about 2 1/2 hours and cleared the drain line all the way out to the sewer line in the middle of the street. They pulled the cover off and you could see the head of the blade swirling around out there, which showed they indeed had went all the way out. They were very professional and we would recommend them any time you have drain issues. We will definitely be using them again.

Let me preface this by saying this is a hard, nasty job.  The guys worked hard, so this review is not intended to denigrate their efforts. 

We had a basement floor drain that was backing up.  We had had a company previously snake out the smaller floor drain that runs to the main sewer drain with success but that person was not able to do the job, so we relied on Angie's List and found Curt & Jerry. 

 They arrived 1.5 hours late, due to a previous job taking longer than planned, which we understand. They did not feel we had good access to the two cleanouts we have in the basement.  One had a PVC pipe siliconed into the cleanout from a water softener install, the other trap behind the sink looked like it had never been removed and they were afraid to touch it initially.  So they spent about 2 hours trying to snake the line through the smaller drain, only to have to open up the trap behind the sink with hammer & chisel to get the lid off.  They worked for 2 more hours but had to call it quits about 5:30 saying someone would have to come back today.  The basement looked like a horror movie- one with sewer ick all over.....

I left a message on the answering machine last night and another this morning, asking when someone would be out.  Got a call back at 9am, and two new guys came out late this morning, and resolved the issue by removing the silicone caulk around the drain trap with the PVC, and going down that way.  They then cleaned out the smaller drain and trap and supposedly made sure everything was flowing good, and tried their best to clean up after the first guys.  But clean it was not.  When my son and I went down to scrub that night, the stuff on the walls wouldn't even come off, it had all dried overnight, and  then we noticed the floor drain was backing up again!!!  We were so over it,  we paid another company an emergency fee to come out and address it.  They said not enough water had been flushed down the J-trap to wash away the sediment they had broken loose.  We will never call these guys again.  They left a nasty mess.  Who do painters and other trades use drop cloths, but these guys act like they never heard of them???

Called them this A.M.  They were here by 3:00.  Always professional and do a good job.  Have used them off and on for years for the sewage lines.

they came out the same day i called.  person answering phone was helpful and followed thru until men arrived.  service men came within the time frame predicted but they took a little longer to get to my house than expected.  they tried over and over to unclog main drain.  worked really hard for a long time, and finally concluded -- based on condition of cable and whip which both got shiny from hitting something hard -- that there was a problem outside the house in the yard - likely collapsed or damaged clay tile.  instead of charging me the $200 that was quoted over the phone for cleaning out the main line, they only charged $85 because they weren't able to fix problem.  i had not expected that.  they also referred me to someone who could work on the outside line.  i was impressed with their honesty, effort and helpfulness, even when there was no benefit to them.

Outstanding results. Two drains totally cleaned and the men were very professional as they did their job.

They were very professional and they worked to squeeze us in in our time of need which we really appreciated. We had a tough clog and they didn't give up. The price was very affordable. Typically w a septic system if you get the wrong plumber and the wrong septic guy they will keep bouncing the problem back and forth on each other. We founds the right septic guy and Kurt and jerry are the right plumbers! Really greatful this wasn't a septic issue!!!

The technicians called when they were on their way and showed up in the specified time range. They cleaned up as they went along and were done quickly. I would definitely use them again.

It went well and hopefully there will be no more problems. They came out, used their equipment and then had to use extenders to clear the line. They explained what they had to do and gave me some useful information to keep in mind for the future. I would recommend them for their work.
