Emailed Bruce on Wednesday, he called me Thursday morning & suggested several things to check. None of them worked, so he suggested that I try buying new speakers since possibly the old ones had simply quit working. Bought new speakers & hooked them up, still no sound, so I contacted Bruce again & let him know we still had a problem. Friday morning we made contact again, & Bruce established remote access w/ my computer & was finally able to determine that I had a problem with windows, We used the restore function to restore windows to a point prior to the problem occurring. After doing this, he was able to rectify the sound problem and computer is working fine again.

Was on time. Come into the office and went right to work. made the repairs and migration of software, Answered questions in a professional manner and I was able to understand without lots of jargon.
Will have him back again for the wife's computer during summer break.

Bruce Stokes, owner,, contacted me within minutes by email after I 1st reached him thru Angie's List and asked my to call him. He answered right away and quickly diagnosed the probable problem as the failure of the Mother Board -  no worth fixing, but could he save my files and move them to my laptop? Yes, he scheduled a visit for 2 days later, and when he was able to physically look at the tower, confirmed it's demise - but yes he could move the files. Bruce spoke very good "Computer Language for Dummies" - many different dialects depending the customers's level of understading so I could keep up fairly well. We deterrmined which files to be saved and then after explaining them he installed a few free securiy and anti malware programs and set them up to ren and fix problems without much chance of my screwing it up! Brice is a great guy, knows what needs to be done with as little new software/hardware additions as possible - or in my case at no cost to me!

I have used Bruce before and have been very satisfied with his work.  I planned to get a new laptop to replace my desktop.  I did call him before I bought a new laptop and he gave me some very helpful suggestions before I went shopping.  He came on 8/18/14 to install my equipment listed above. He actually arrived early and everything went just fine.  His set up made it very easy to use Windows 8.  I will definitely use again and would recommend him to others.

I like him very much. He just comes to me and sometimes if it is a minor problem, he can fix it from his place of business through remote access. If he does it remotely, he does not even charge me. I have been a customer of his for several years.

"I do appreciate this client's honest review. After making sure that pc was not infected and was running as lean as possible, sporadic lock-ups were still occurring. Several hours were even spent via "remoting" into pc at no charge, attempting to determine the cause of the problem to no avail. Tests were run on overall system and hard drive, showing all normal readings. The only concern was the Internet Connection speed... very slow. Told client to follow-up on this with Provider to make sure client was getting the speed that they were paying for. Apologies for not meeting this client's needs 100%."

I called and left a message for Bruce on a Friday night. He called 2st thing on Saturday & we schedule the appt for Tuesday morning. Bruce called before he came and arrived on time. He did an excellent job and in a timely manner. He removed a virus from 2 computers & cleaned them up in an hour. He downloaded a couple of free programs so I can check the computers regularly. I highly recommend him.

Bruce was here when he said he would be; and stayed here until all the problems I was having were repaired.  He is extremely professional and I feel he is very honest.  I appreciate the tips he gave during the repair so if I have trouble again, I can try to fix the problem myself should one occur.  He is my go-to computer guy from now on - thank you Bruce!!

To my surprise Bruce said it wasn't a problem with the router, but more likely the distance to the particular computer (there are two in this house) and could also be affected by the home's construction.  He said there was no reason for me to pay for a service call when the "fix" was probably something I could do myself.  He recommended that I buy a "Powerline Networking" device made by a company called Net Gear.  He even told me which model to buy and suggested I purchase the kit from Amazon.com
Per his request, I emailed him after it arrived, and he walked me through the simple installation procedure.  Within a few minutes the adapters were up and running, and my downloads from the Internet seem to just "pop" onto the screen.  No more "loading" interruptions to music, YouTube, etc.  It's a huge difference.
I've use Bruce (Computer Housecalls) for several years, and the above is a good indication why.

We have used Bruce for several years and he has always been able to solve our computer problems.  We are not computer experts and need someone who understands how we can gum up a computer. He is patient and excellent at what he does.
We are in Florida 3 months a year and have used him on a remote basis down there. We trust him.

Virus Problems have been fixed, except the arrow jump movement has returned. Do not know why? Will require additional fixing.Still working on selection arrow that continues to jump around. The cause remains a mystery. I have replaced the mouse but problem remains.

Bruce arrived (right on time) with a written check-list of actions to take.  This included initial setup, transferring files, making sure my networked printer was OK, reinstalling any needed drivers, and connecting any accessories.  It took 2 hours because there was so much to transfer, but Bruce only spent the time that was needed.  When the job was done my "desktop" looked almost the same as before, and nothing was forgotten or lost.  He even installed some free anti-virus software to replace the brand that came installed on the computer...and I really like the way it works.  I don't think anyone could do any better, and I can see why he has the "Super Service" award.

Within a day of our service call, Bruce arrived to repair our computer. He made us feel as if fixing our machine was his top priority. It took less than an hour to clean the virus out of our system and load preventative software that would help to avoid the situation in the future. Couldn't be happier and wouldn't go anywhere else for our computer repair needs!

Bruce was here for over two hours, [plus the time he worked remotely] trying various programs and eventually replaced the one I had....actually, it is much better...and best of all...it works!   Bruce is someone you can rely on and trust.  I wouldn't go to anyone else.

I have utilized Bruce's services over the past few years and consider him "my computer guy". I decided it was time to buy a new computer so I contacted Bruce for some advice. His advice was very helpful and I felt confident in going to three different stores comparing prices, models and features. After making the purchase I had Bruce come out to set it up and transfer everything from my old computer. Later I was having some software issues with Excel. I called him after hours and left him a message. I wasn't expecting a return call until the next day, but he got back with me within a few minutes and then sent me via e-mails three different options to try. I wasn't able to fix the problem. I called him back and he then "remote accessed" my computer and within a few minutes he had my problem fixed. This was all "after hours and at no charge". I highly recommend "Computer Housecalls" for all your computer needs!

Bruce "remoted in" to 2 computers and diagnosed the communication/sharing problem between pc's on our Home Network.  When we recently switched to AT&T U-verse, they had failed to remove from the configuration a previously existing wireless router, which was interfering with the overall IP Address configuration.  This should have been taken care of by the AT&T technician.

I found my computer and monitor was inoperative this morning.   I knew it was early Sunday morning and that no one would be working, but I wanted to leave an email (using my ipad) so I could get on the repair list for the first of the week. 
Within an hour, I received a call from Computer Housecalls.  I was amazed.  Who returns calls on Sunday?  Within 30 minutes, Bruce had diagnosed the problem over the phone. 
I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone who needs work on their computer systems.
