I was referred to CMH Builders/Cherished Woodcraft from another company I was doing business with in the area as I am new to Indiana from moving from out of state recently. Initially, my contact with the representative Todd Lipking was great and the communication was quick and responsive. Upon signing a Letter of Engagement and giving a deposit, stories changed, communication became spotty at best, and multiple dates of promise for scope of work and contracts being provided were broken. The date promised in the Letter of Engagement was broken by the company by almost 2.5 weeks or 11 business days. Multiple attempts at communication were not returned and finally was reached out to after being ‘forgotten about.’ The reviews and pictures of the work do look good and hopefully this is a one off for the company but I would highly advise caution in dealing with a company that practices business like this especially when projects are of the magnitude and cost they are for custom built-ins and the like.

The team at Cherished Woodcraft did a wonderful job with the new media center. I found them very professional and friendly. The finished product was incredible and they imbedded it in the corner of my den and got it squared and even. Yes it can be somewhat expensive, but the finished item or project their craftsmen turn out is worth every penny.

Unfortunately, this was not a pleasant experience. I understand we signed onto this during a pandemic, but the work date was pushed back three times, I believe. We were plagued with issues once the work began. Details were skipped. Our countertop for our office desk was cut wrong to start with-that pushed back completion of the project. The wood top also had several nicks after installation (before we were using it). Nails were exposed throughout the builtins including the trim along the floor (shoe mould). The shoe mould was not done well and had to be fixed. On top of that when they came at one point part of the shoe mould was missing. Also, there is a removable shelf that I put in a cabinet above the printer-after the project was completed I discovered that the holes to put the pins in to set the shelf on were not even, Dave (the guy who did all of the work) had to come back out and drill more holes in order for the shelf to sit balanced. Also, they hired out an electrician and I realized later that not all of the outlets that we had agreed upon were installed, the electrician had to come back a second time and wasn't able to put one of the outlets where we wanted it. Communication was poor and fairly slow throughout the process with Craig (the owner). We had puck lights "installed" with double sided tape (I could have done that myself and ordered puck lights online), neither light works now (It's been about a month and a half-we had not even used them yet) and one already fell off and was stuck to the top shelf that it fell on top of. Of the two guys who came out to install the project one quit mid-project and apparently caused a lot of the problems with installation. I was told he quit and that a lot of issues he caused are because he didn't know what he was doing (that's very clear)! I could go on with other examples, but at the end of the day it's been a very disappointing and frustrating experience.

The project turned out beyond our imagination. They took a picture that I gave them and brought it to life. The craftsmanship is stunning and the customer service is superior. They promised and delivered! If you need any wood work done you would be foolish to use anyone else.

Everyone was very helpful and we love our units around the fireplace. The paint goes perfectly with our fireplace and the molding is beautiful. The room smelled of fresh wood after they left and it has enhanced the room so much. Thanks for everything!

I had two in-house visits by the Cherished Woodcraft team before the build began - 1) for an initial estimate and 2) for a review and final plan. Craig (the owner) and Todd were extremely thorough and very professional. The quoted prices were reasonable and fair and surprisingly less than I expected. There weren't hidden fees either. On the third visit, my wall bookcases and cabinet were installed in about 3 hours, and it truly looks like it came with the house due to the matching paint color, trim used, etc. Their attention to detail and quality of their workmanship in the final product has left me with an amazing "piece of art" that I plan to enjoy for years to come. It is truly a focal point of the room now. I'm already contemplating other potential projects that their business might be able to help me with in the future. I would highly recommend Craig Huckstep and his Cherished Woodcraft team.

We could not be more pleased with the work that was done from Cherished Woodcraft. We had signed a deal to begin the project and had an initial payment paid. During that time my company filed for bankruptcy and Craig was gracious enough to put the project on hold for us as long as we needed. Several months later I was employed and we got back to working. The entire staff was very professional and all work done met or exceeded our expectations. The next project we have that we can utilize them we will without hesitation.

My experience with Cherished Woodcraft was amazing from when I first met them to the final installment. They were able to take all the measurements and then show me a picture of what my built ins would look like around my fireplace. They were very helpful picking out the hardware and matching the paint to the color of our fireplace mantel. When they came to install they did it with no issues and they look amazing! They look like they were built with the house! I highly recommend Cherished Woodcraft!

Cherished Woodcraft did an outstanding job building and installing our custom bookshelves. Everyone we worked with were knowledgeable and professional and I could not have been happier with the result. I had specifically requested the bookshelves be installed prior to Thanksgiving and Craig and his team did everything they could to make sure that happened. Cherished Woodcraft provided the custom cabinets for our newly finished basement in the bar area and full bathroom. The cabinets are absolutely beautiful, made with such high quality, and provide the "no slam" feature that will not allow the doors to be slammed even when forcefully shut! We love the cabinets and would recommend them to anyone building a home, finishing an unfinished area of their home, or simply looking to upgrade their existing cabinets. You will not be disappointed if you choose to do business with Cherished Woodcraft.

In June 2019 we contacted CMH Builders about possibly doing some built-in shelving in our dining room, with the intention of converting it to a library. They referred us to a sister company, Cherished Woodcraft. We worked with Todd Lipking, project consultant, on the design. Then we visited their showroom to finalize the details. In August, they came out and did the installation of the units which they had pre-constructed and finished in their facility. The installers were very attentive to detail, including making sure the units were even and balanced (especially since our floor was off over 1" from one side of the room to the other). The room had wainscotting prior to this change, and the designer and installers were helpful on what to keep and what to remove. Some of the unique aspects of this project were beadboard on the backs of open shelves, corner units facing the doorways, soft close doors on the cabinet sections, and grommets through some of the shelving to allow access to electric outlets behind the units. We were extremely pleased with the end result and our guests have been very complimentary of our new library.
