I have been dealing with Jeff since he installed our irrigation system about 6 years back. Our immediate experience was pretty awful (as I described in an earlier (2005, I think) feedback). We had a significant leak right after the irrigation system installation. It took him several weeks to respond and fix it. We had chosen him because his cost was reasonable compared to others *and* because his initial ratings on Angie's List were good. He had recently started. Also, he was offering a good warranty. Well, this experience has turned out to be horrible. Looking at the slew of Fs he has gotten since my original (rather restrained) feedback I see that the experience of other customers has not been pleasant either. Irrigation systems need to be serviced twice a year. Our first few service years were going to be free (that was the added attraction). What I had not counted on was that the mere act of having to schedule and deal with this company was going to be such a hassle. No reliability whatsoever. Phone calls - 4 out of 5 times you will get the voicemail and then you have to pray for a response. There's always been an excuse why the response didn't happen or happened late. Spring start-ups: he suggested once that it was so simple I could do it myself. It sounded simple - just turn on the water. Perhaps it was only a coincidence. I released the water - a spray head went flying in the air. Winterization became an awfully stressful routine. The norm is to get it done by end of October. We routinely found ourselves chasing him into November. On one hand we found ourselves trusting that he knows what he is doing and that he will secure the system before it freezes; on the other hand, what is the credibility of a contracter that cost you hundreds of dollars in water leakage, and is so unresponsive to routine tasks? The five year warranty became more of a liability because now we were stuck with him. For a year or so, his brother took over the servicing. I will have to say that was a much more pleasant experience. Just when relief was setting in, the brother handed the routine back to Jeff. And the chasing and stress returned. We were stuck again because we had paid for the full year assuming we will be dealing with his brother. Just got done with the winter servicing, after more chasing. This has been a tremendous learning experience for us. We realize now that all of the things that seem advantageous in such a project (such as reasonable cost and warranty) can reverse into a big liability if post-implementation there is nothing in the name of customer service.

We have used them before & liked them. They have always done a good job. I have no complaints. They have been good in every area. We are hiring them to open the sprinkler system in the Spring and would recommend them to anyone who buys our home. They didn't charge an outrageous price and completed the work within a good time frame.

After it was installed, I developed a gigantic leak. It was not until the gentleman at Greenskeepers called him and had him come out. He eventually came out and took care of it, but if it wasn't for Greenskeepers it probably would not have gotten take care of since Greenskeeps were the ones that referred this company to me. He also never came out in the fall to shut down the system. I went ahead and shut it down myself in October.

"THE COST OF HER SPRINKLER SYSTEM WAS ONLY $2900.00. WHEN THE SYSTEM WAS INSTALLED, THERE WERE NO LEAKS. I PERSONALLY WALK EVERY YARD THAT I INSTALL NEW SYSTEMS ON. IT IS TRUE THAT I CAME RIGHT OUT AFTER I WAS NOTIFIED OF THE LEAK TO FIX IT. AS FAR AS WINTERIZING THE SYSTEM, I DID SHUT IT DOWN PROPERLY. THE CUSTOMER IS A SENIOR CITIZEN AND DOES NOT OWN A LARGE AIR COMPRESSOR THAT IS REQUIRED WHEN YOU WINTERIZE A SPRINKLER SYSTEM. IT WOULD HAVE BEEN IMPOSSIBLE FOR HER TO DO IT HERSELF. SHE PROBABLY THINKS SINCE SHE TURNED THE CONTROL PANEL IN THE GARAGE TO "OFF" THAT SHE WINTERIZED THE SYSTEM HERSELF."

JEFF BURHENN INSTALLED AN IRRIGATION SYSTEM FOR OUR ENTIRE LAWN AND LANDSCAPE. HIS PRICES WERE MUCH BETTER THAN ANY COMPETITOR. HE DID NOT GET OURS IN AS QUICKLY AS HE SAID HE WOULD BUT GAVE US A FREE SYSTEM FLUSH TO OFFSET THE WAIT. THE SYSTEM WORKED BEAUTIFULLY.

JOB 1: JEFF IS AN EXCELLENT PERSON TO WORK WITH. HE KEPT ME INFORMED ABOUT DELAYS DUE TO WEATHER. HIS PRICE WAS COMPETITIVE. HE HAS HAD TO COME BACK TWICE TO MOVE SPRINKLER HEADS DUE TO NEW DECK CONSTRUCTION AND WAS VERY RESPONSIVE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND BURHENN IRRIGATION. I DON'T BELIEVE THERE IS A BETTER COMPANY OUT THERE INSTALLING IRRIGATION SYSTEMS. JOB 2: JEFF CARES ABOUT GIVING GOOD SERVICE. HE WANTS TO MAKE SURE HIS CUSTOMER IS SATISFIED. JEFF WAS PROMPT ON THE DAY WE AGREED HE WOULD PERFORM THE WORK, CLEANED EVERYTHING UP WHEN DONE, AND ALL HEADS WORK AS EXPECTED. JEFF IS ALWAYS VERY PROFESSIONAL AND ALWAYS SEEMS TO BE IN A VERY GOOD MOOD. A GREAT PERSON TO DO BUSINESS WITH. IT'S NO WONDER HIS MARKS ARE SO HIGH ON ANGIE'S LIST. FRANKLY, I DON'T KNOW WHERE YOU FIND PEOPLE LIKE JEFF ANYMORE THAT WILL STAND BEHIND THEIR WORK EVEN BEYOND WHAT THE HOMEOWNER EXPECTS. HE WAS LATE IN ARRIVING AND HE DID APOLOGIZE, THE DUE DATE FOR THE TEST REPORT IS JUNE 16 AND I HAVE NOT RECEIVED ANYTHING AND NEITHER HAS THE CITY OF CARMEL. ON THE 26TH OF MAY HE HAD LEFT US A VOICE MAIL THAT HE WAS GOING TO BE WORKING ON HUNDREDS OF REPORTS AND WOULD BE SENDING THEM OUT. UNFORTUNATELY HE WAS PRE PAID FOR THIS VISIT AND THE WINTERIZATION.

PRICE WAS BY FAR THE BEST. THE OFFERED WARRANTY PERIOD IS VERY ATTRACTIVE. COMPENSATED THE DELAY IN GETTING STARTED BY OFFERING ADDITIONAL SEMI-ANNUAL MAINTENANCE. BIGGEST PROBLEM WAS A SIGNIFICANT LEAK IN THE SYSTEM THAT TOOK MORE THAN A MONTH TO ADDRESS. THE PROBLEM SEEMS TO HAVE BEEN SOLVED. WATER USAGE HAS IMPROVED QUITE A BIT. WILL CONFIRM THOUGH, NEXT SPRING. JEFF DID OFFER TO PAY FOR PART OF OUR WATER BILL FOR THAT PERIOD.

JEFF DID NOT EVEN WANT TO CHARGE ME TO MAKE THE REPAIR, SINCE IT WAS SO SMALL A JOB. HE DID HAVE TO COME OUT TWICE THOUGH, AND I FELT COMPELLED TO PAY SOMETHING. HE ASKED ONLY FOR THE COST OF MATERIALS THEN. JEFF DID A GREAT JOB REPAIRING THE LEAK AND CLEANING UP THE AREA AND SMOOTHING OUT THE DIRT AFTER HE WAS DONE. HE EVEN OFFERED TO BRING OUT GRASS SEED AND PLANT IT WHERE SOME WAS LOST - I DON'T BELIEVE HE WAS GOING TO CHARGE ANYTHING ADDITIONAL TO DO THAT. JEFF IS A GREAT GUY, VERY PROFESSIONAL AND COURTEOUS. NO HASSLE! I WOULDN'T HESITATE TO CALL ON HIM AGAIN!
