Man these guys (and gals) are good. I was a little apprehensive since Britt's was not a big name national mover, and I was heading to Denver from Indy, and wasn't sure long hauls were there specialty. Michael said, don't worry, got you covered.. And did he ever. They were better than I could have imagined. They were flexible as we moved the move up a week or so, and then added a car for them to tow as well. All went in one truck, with just our stuff, which Michael drove out when we did. We left earlier in the day, and he had the place cleaned, and locked up for us. He kept in touch along the way, and delivered and set up the next morning after we arrived. Not one thing missing, not one thing broken. The packers were great as well. Efficient, friendly, and timely. Could not have been more pleased.

There were a few things that had a few scratches that they sent furniture repair people out to fix. Other than that I feel that things went very well.

It went very, very well. It was a long day. they were all very friendly and worked well together. The only caveat I have is if you give them furniture make sure they take it. We gave one young man a mattress and box spring which were upstairs and they did not bring down as he was going to come back and get them. He never came back, they are still upstairs and we are now going to have to move them to the garage ourselves. As far as the overall move it could not have gone any better. Mike, the head of the crew, was more than helpful. And his brother, Chris, worked hardest of all but they all contributed immensely. I would definitely recommend them and would also use them again.

They were to show up on Sunday at noon to do the move. My son was going to have to work so I was going to be there for the move instead. They called Saturday and said their Saturday move was running long and would carry over to Sunday, needed to reschedule. Ok. How about Weds morning first thing. She said first thing would be 9am. Great. My son took off work. No show at 9. Called and left several messages over the next hour. No call back. It's a cell phone. Not sure why they couldn't call back. They finally got in touch at 10, had a problem with their dog, would be there at 10:45. They showed up at 11:15. They couldn't disconnect the microwave or dishwasher. Hmmm. I was told they could. That's all we had hired them to do was to move appliances. Good thing my son was able to be there instead of me. He had to do the disconnects. They moved the them to old house, but couldn't hook anything up! They moved the other appliances to the new house. Couldn't hook up dishwasher or microwave. Hooked up the washer and dryer, turns out they hooked the cold water to the hot and visa-versa. That ruined a load of clothes till we found out. So except that we were able to take advantage of their doing the heavy lifting , the move was a disaster and not what we were TOLD we were getting. Will never use again! My daughter is moving next month. No way! Would highly NOT recommend them. Don't say you can do something you can't. The two guys who did the move were very nice, just not prepared for what they were hired for.

We hired Britt's to pack all of our personal /household items / furniture and move them. From the initial meeting they were very professional. Estimate came in right on target. We moved on a Friday, their packers arrived at our 4000 sq ft home on that Wednesday and began packing. My family didn't so much as pack a box of clothes...Britt's did everything! They were meticulous about ensure no items were broken. All of the boxes were thoroughly marked and easy for us to unpack at the new home. They broke down beds, dining room table and set all furniture up at new location. They put down materials to protect our flooring while they were moving us at each location. After we were finished unpacking they even came back and picked up all of the boxes/packing materials so that we did not have to worry about disposing of it. Lastly, they also completed a pre Move-In cleaning at our new home with only a 24 hr notice! I would highly recommend Britt's for any packing, moving or cleaning service you may need!

I am as impressed as I could be with the service I received today. Having recently sold my home in the Geist area, I needed furniture (including very delicate antiques - some quite large) moved to storage. Michael came to my home and looked at the pieces, assured me they would be moved in a timely manner and treated with great care. He more than delivered on his promise. They took absolutely meticulous care dismantling, wrapping, carrying and then unloading the pieces into storage. I paid under the estimated amount and was truly impressed with the skill they employed fitting the items carefully into a storage space I would have never have believed would be enough room. Not a mark on a wall. Not a ding in a door. They were courteous and efficient. Thanks to Britts for a job well done! You've earned a customer for life.

It was the move from h*ll. The packing was done only adequately. The biggest issue was that when they moved the boxes into my new place I would say one of every three boxes were put in the wrong room. I found boxes for every room in almost every other room in the house. I had boxes that were marked with large, red stars that were to be put in my front hall so that I could get to them immediately. I could find none of them when I moved until I got down two or three boxes deep. Boxes that had been labeled fragile or top load would be at the bottom of a pile. They stacked the boxes in front of the furniture to which I needed to put the items that were in the boxes so I could not put the items away until I unpacked the boxes. I had to get the boxes away from the cupboards or dressers or whatever that had to be moved. In my bedroom they put two dressers that I told them to put next to each other. They put them on the correct wall, but put 8 boxes stacked up between them. I will not be able to move the dressers where they need to be until I unpack the boxes.  I had boxes of items that were to be sold at an estate sale and they ended up bring at least eight of those boxes into the new house and they did not get put into the estate sale. Then I had to figure out something else to do with them. They stacked boxes on top of each other up to the ceiling so high that I could not even get the top boxes down. I had to bring somebody else in to get those boxes down so I could get them unpacked.

Did not go particularly well.
*rubber gloves from my garage which had only been used with toxic chemicals were packed with toiletries which I use on my skin or ingest
*fine crystal packed with pots and pans
*bars in wardrobe boxes failed, resulting in wrinkled clothes, including a good suit
*items that had been requested as easy to access were packed in 3 different boxes and hard to find
*cleaning solutions packed with toiletries
*multiple small bath items thrown loosely into a box
*shelves were moved to a storage unit vs. brought to new home
*implied that my wife had ignored a voicemail about where to pay bill. She received no such message.
*not told where, when, how bill was to be settled
*bill was settled in a public parking lot in full view of others
*estimate was $858, billed $1172 which I unfortunately paid. Estimate was given 7/1 and I had moved some of my own things prior to the move on 7/25-6---meaning that there was actually slightly less stuff to move than when estimate given

They have always been on time and courteous.  Under Mike's expert direction they packed everything into the truck carefully and wrapped furniture properly. They knew how to stack items properly when they put the items into storage so that the space was used efficiently. They did an excellent job.

I asked for Britt's to give us an estimate to move our household goods to our new home.  We received a fixed bid for moving which was different than the other bids we had received from two other moving services which was an estimate of the hours but were told we would pay for the other companies an hourly rate..  In addition Britt's also gave me gave valuable advice and tips on packing.  The day prior to moving they arrived and checked our packing.  We were not quite finished so they assisted us in finishing packing. They asked if I needed additional help with anything.  They cleaned our home after we moved out and clean our new home prior to moving in.  They stored our furnishings for 24 hours then delivered everything the next day as we had requested.  They were patient as we had to ask them to move some furnishings as our plans change when we discovered the first arrangement did not work.  Nothing was damaged and that was a miracle as our furnishing were very heavy. Lastly the Britt team checked with us to see if we needed any additional help unpacking.  They returned a few days later and removed all the boxes and packing .  I would definitely would recommend the Britt's Team. The cost of our move totaled $3100 ( 2 large trucks of furnishings, storage, additional help packing, and cleaning) which was less than the cost of the other companies hourly rate.  Also no other company offered the addition services that Britt offered.

We were disappointed in the cleaning services provided by Britt.  We had our new house and old house (rental home) cleaned.  For the amount of money we spent for cleaning on both homes, my expectations were high.  Unfortunately, this company did not come through for us.  In cleaning our new house before we moved in, there were definitely things missed such as cobwebs, our stovetop and oven, drawers in the bathrooms.  When we had our other house cleaned in preparation for new renters, the
Britt's cleaning service was over an hour late, took numerous smoking breaks, and missed cleaning a bedroom and bathroom drawers.  They did do a great job on our master bathroom; however, that doesn't justify the $300 spent for our 1800 square foot house.

I called Debbie for an estimate on packing based on a recommendation by Norm (of Norm's Moving and Hauling). She was very pleasant and came to the house to give an estimate on a total house packing job.  The quote was for just over a thousand dollars.
Debbie made it clear that the price is per box so that if we packed things ourselves before hand that the actual price would be lower as her team would be doing less work.  My husband and I took this to heart and packed about a third of our possessions ourselves.
The day of packing Deb's sister and mother (I think-- this is a family owned and operated business) arrived right on time with supplies.  From the beginning they commented that we had done a lot on our own. They were very professional and pleasant and did a tremendous job of packing and marking our boxes.  We had no damage to any article during the move and they didn't miss a thing.  They were at our home for approximately 6 hours.
When it came time to pay they counted boxes and the price came out to $920 (not much less than the original estimate). This was disappointing since we had done so much ourselves (and they even commented to that degree).  I'm not sure if they just used more packing supplies (paper) than Debbie thought they would or if the estimate was just off but I was expecting about a third less on the price.
In the end they did a very nice job of packing and things arrived safely and securely.  I would probably use them again but would get a couple other quotes first as this seemed high based on what they actually did in the end.

The all-women team actually came over the night prior to packing day in order to deliver all the flattened boxes, tape, and packing paper.  The next morning they showed up right on time and got to work.  As I recall there were five workers.  By about 3 in the afternoon they were nearly done but asked if I would mind if they finished the following morning.  Frankly I was surprised at how much they got done on the first day - there were 30 cartons of books alone.

The next day they finished in just a few hours.  The contents were carefully wrapped and packed, and boxes neatly marked to indicate what was inside and what room they were from.

I did not utilize their optional unpacking service...wanting to take my time and put things away myself.  I'm happy to say that there was absolutely zero damage....and this job included packing lots of small decorative items and other breakables.  Not a chipped plate, broken glass, scuffed lamp....nothing.

In 13 moves this is the first time I've used professional packers.  It was worth every penny.

SENT TO OWNER - NEVER REPLIED: I was going to post this to Angie's List, but thought I would just send it to you for now. I own my own business and appreciate feedback about others in my company. The guys you sent were nice enough/personable; however, they scratched the wood on the shuffleboard table in numerous places immediately when they started trying to move it. Only two guys were lifting, they should have had three and when they couldn't handle the weight they set it on the edge of the table to rest it and the metal supports under the boards scratched the railing in 6 or 8 different spots. See the example table below and envision lifting the center part of the table out (it is all one piece) with one guy on each end. The weight being too much and then they rest it on the edge of the table scratching it badly. That is what happened. When I pointed it out, the lead guy ignored it as if it wasn't an issue, and then when I pointed it out again he said he would come back out and touch it up so the scratches weren't so obvious. That was Monday, I have yet to hear from him and suspect I won't. The reason I suspect I won't is that I question his ethics. This is because, when you called back and said instead of being there at 1:30 plan on 2:00 to be safe. I appreciated the heads up and was there at 2:00. I waited until 2:35 when they finally arrived. I understand they can't be precise about times, but when he presented me with the bill showing they started at 2:15 I felt insulted. The sheepish look on his face said it all. He knew when they started and yet he put down an earlier time which obviously influences the bill. I wouldn't have felt so cheated if we were moving countless items where they were active for two hours straight. It was one heavy item, with limited disassembly (although we thought there could be a lot, there were about 4 bolts) and one tricky stairwell to maneuver. One guy spent most of his time with his hands in his pockets. At this point, here is what I am thinking: 1. Send someone out (not the same guy) to fix the scratches or send me the supplies to do it. 2. Address the issue with your employee(s), reduce my invoice to $250 which it should have been instead of $310 (I paid $320 because I didn't have change) and give the $60/$70 I overpaid to your best employee, your favorite charity or keep it yourself. I can respect any of the three. If you need to fire a few people, it is a great time to be hiring. There are a lot of good, ethical people out there in need of work who would be glad to earn an income like this. I like your concept and I want to see you do well, but I think you have to nip this rounding up of the time spent in the bud to avoid it blooming into a real problem for you. It is also a problem when someone tells you they will do something (repair scratches) and then you never hear from them. Please reply and let me know what you think. I hope to hear from you."

The owner of the company was 45 minutes late to the estimate appointment and didn't call to let me know she was going to be late. I was moving into a home where I had taken great strides to get the cigarette smoke odor out. The ladies that came to pack up my items all smoked in the van where the boxes and paper were that were used. I got to the new home the next day, started to unpack things and wondered, what in the world was that horrible smell...only to realize what had taken place. Everything was smoke filled! The day they came to pack, I asked about packing the items in the filing cabinet. I was told the file folders and contents did not have to be packed as the men would move it intact the next day. The next day came, the men went to get the filing cabinet and asked me why the contents had not been packed. I told them what I had been told. The man called the owner of the company and then ended up packing the contents. I am now paying a higher fee for packing since the job was not done the day before. The day they came to pack, I asked if one of the ladies could come and run the sweeper in the garage where I was moving. One lady said she could come. The job took less than 30 minutes. She charged me for 4 hours saying that was the minimum charge! Wow, was that a surprise to me! After the move, I found three of my plastic storage containers had been damaged, all of which had to be discarded. I was very disappointed with this company and would never use them or recommend them to anyone!

They all did an excellent job. The packers did a great job labeling the boxes and the movers did not complain about the many flights of stairs at the new home....even when we had to have them re-move a heavy piece of furniture that they had just moved to the top floor. We decided it would be better in the basement and they did the work. They also came back on another day and helped me move around some other heavy items that we had later decided what their final position ought to be. I love that they come back and pick up the boxes after we have unpacked them and I love that they recycle the boxes. Deb Brit is a hard working professional.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY. Company does excellent job and goes beyond typical services to ensure items are all packed and then placed where you want them to be. Without knowing where I wanted everything and without, therefore, being able to provide specific directions, unpackers still made best guesses and put everything away in a timely manner. Company handles all aspects of move if you want them to, from arranging for and moving appliances to disassembling and setting up bed in desired location. GREAT JOB! Price mentioned above is for packing/moving/unpacking. Cleaning price was slightly excessive due to mis-communication of charges as total versus per person. Note: a 4-hour minimum for "unpacking" as well as for moving not known in advance, but the unpacking required all four hours, so it was fine. So, I made a couple of communication mistakes. However, everything overall was fabulous and well priced UNDER AMOUNT QUOTED. Once again, I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS COMPANY.

Debbie was very professional and provided useful advice for moving. I enjoyed working with her. Unfortunately, I had several problems with the packing which resulted in a stressful move. An entire four drawer file cabinet was not packed. On my moving day, which was already stressful, I had to scurry around and pack these files myself. An entire 5 shelf wardrobe of sweaters was not packed. Again, on the moving day, I had to rush and pack these myself. Many of the boxes that were packed (at least 30%) were packed so poorly that they were crushed or open by the time they reached the destination. The movers specifically commented to me on the poor packing job. One reason is that the tape across the top of the box, the packers only extended to a couple of inches down the sides of the boxes, instead of further down for strength. This was especially true for packing done by the older packer who packed my kitchen. Other things were packed well. Not sure if would hire again.
Response from BRITTS PROFESSIONAL PACKING & MOVING
"THE REASON WE DID NOT PACK THE FOUR DRAWER FILING CABINET IS 3 REASONS: 1. THE CABINET WAS IN EXCELLENT SHAPE, AND I DID NOT SEE A NEED TO PACK ITEMS OUT OF THIS CABINET, I HAVE WORKED WITH MOVERS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY AND AS LONG AS THE CABINET IS IN GOOD SHAPE WE LEAVE THE CONTENTS INSIDE. 2. I WAS ALSO TRYING TO SAVE THE MEMBER A LOT OF HEADACHES BY NOT HAVING TO PUT ALL THOSE FILES BACK WHEN SHE GOT TO HER DESTINATION, AND SINCE I CHARGE ONLY BY THE CARTON, SAVE HER SOME MONEY TOO. 3. A 5 SHELF WARDROBE WITH JUST SWEATERS IN THERE, THE SAME IS TRUE FOR THIS: SAVE TIME AND MONEY FOR THE MEMBER. AS FOR THE BOXES ONLY BEING PACKED AT 30%, THIS HOLDS TRUE FOR DRIED FLOWERS, LAMP SHADES, HAND BLOWN GLASS, HATS, TIFFANY SHADES, ETC. WE CAN NOT PUT ANYTHING AROUND THESE ITEMS OR ON TOP OF THEM. WE DO HOWEVER PUT ARROWS ON 3 DIFFERENT SIDES OF THE BOX AND TOP LOAD ON THE TOP OF THE BOX. AS FOR THE TAPE, WHEN WE ORDER OUR MATERIAL FROM OUR BOX COMPANY I DO HAVE TO ADMIT THAT WE SOMETIME GET A BOX OF TAPE THAT SEEMS NOT A GOOD AS THE REST AND MAYBE THAT WAS IT. USUALLY WE DON'T NEED TO TAPE BUT A COUPLE INCHES DOWN. I AM VERY SORRY THAT THE MEMBER HAD TO DO ANYTHING MORE THAN SHE ALREADY HAD ON HER PLATE. I KNOW THAT RELOCATING IS CHAOS I AM HERE TO TAKE THAT AWAY FROM MY CLIENT NOT ADD TO IT. THANK YOU. DEBBIE BRITT"
