Brick & Ember was very responsive. There were some complications with the job that required a return by the service person and they were very quick to schedule that. The result was what we wanted, it was professionally done, and the cost was very reasonable. I highly recommend Brick & Ember Outfitters.

We contacted them through Angi. We wanted to automate our gas fireplace so we could use a remote or a switch. The salesman came in and said it'd be easy and we could keep her same setup. Total cost was $1600. We paid for it and two months later they came and installed it. The starter box, though was too big and stuck out of our insert so the doors wouldn't close. The flu had to be left open the entire time losing heat when we weren't using the fireplace. There was a very strong and loud pilot light that had be constantly lit with nothing between the light and our living room (no enclosure) and since the starter was too big, we couldn't close our screen. We called them and they said we should have known those things. We got no instructions on how to use the device. We wanted them to come and uninstall it because we really felt like we went from a beautiful fireplace to this complete mess of a fireplace with starter hanging out of the insert and a loud blue flame you could hear even upstairs. Plus the loss of heat from the flue open all the time (!!) After talking to the installer he said he could remove it but since it wasn't their fault we'd get no money back. They'd give us $200 back for not leaving any directions and not telling us how to use it. My wife really wanted the eye sore removed so we just agreed to it. So they then came and un-installed it and we've seen no money back. My guess is they will be able to use the starter or send it back to the company. Overall this cost us $1600 to be back where we started. Very unhappy. If you plan to use this company ask a lot of questions.

They did a great job replacing our fireplace doors and doing some other minor work. The doors (which they ordered for us) had a manufacturing defect that we did not notice until after the installation was complete. They were great about ordering replacement parts from the manufacturer and returned quickly to fix the issue. We were very pleased with the work and their customer service,

The company was outstanding! The guys had to work in horrible weather but they got the new chimney done as quickly as they could and it looks amazing! Everyone involved was honest and professional and communicated every step of the way.

They came and gave me an estimate which I accepted. They tented my chimney, removed the old brick and wood mantel. Sheldon was the person who did the demo and rebuild of stacked. He also attached a new mantel and laid an Indiana limestone hearth. His work was excellent and meticulous. He was ably assisted by Chandler. I would highly recommend this company to do this work. I wanted to attach pictures but cannot figure out how to do that. Cost was $6,600. Well worth it.

David was very professional. We had to cancel at the last minute, and he took the initiative to reschedule for the following week. When he recommended a product that we needed to use, he did not have it, and it was not available in his warehouse. He drove over 30 mins away to get this product and bring it back for me to use today. Much appreciated.

Excellent work with professional service.

The sales process was fantastic. The salesperson thoroughly looked all over the house to find areas of issue with the brick and photographed them so we could see. He also photographed the chimney so we could see the damage there. We decided to go with them and put down the deposit. Only after we put down the deposit did they tell us that they were a couple of months out, which would have been nice to know ahead of time. We would have probably still gone with them but it would have better set our expectations. Once scheduled the initial work done on the tuckpointing was sloppy. Additionally, the company set the expectations via email and text that they would do a walkthrough at the beginning and end of the project. The team that came to our house did neither. They told the main office that we weren't home when in fact my husband and I both work from home and they could see me in my office as I'm on the first floor. We called the company to come back out and take a look which they did promptly. They sent a crew to tidy up the tuckpointing and did a walkthrough afterwards. We were then pleased with the work. Their willingness to fix the small issues quickly and the overall work that they did is the reason that we would use them again and also recommend them to others.

I would NEVER hire CMO again. Why? On day 3 of my project (the start of which was delayed by CMO by over a week after I had already waited several weeks to get on their project schedule), I was told that all of the parts for my wood burning stove were not in stock. The poor construction had to tell me this....not the account manager, not management, not the sales person, who sold the project to me. They didn't tell me before they started the job, or I would have asked them to wait. I was then pressured to make a final payment (I had to pay 50% up front to even get the job scheduled...which is normal...but the delays that ensued and the partially completed work was not), and while I withheld 10% of the total job to ensure that they in fact would come back and complete the job...I should NOT have made a second payment at all. After day 4 of my project (originally, I was told it would take all of 2 days btw)...the company has not been able to give me an ETA on when my parts will be in. They only blame things on Covid. While that may be partially true, they should have been upfront and honest before they started the project. They should have at least called me AFTER they were last here to apologize for the delay and to assure me that my project would be done in a timely matter. They did neither. The last communication 3 weeks ago was an automated system email that says I have an appointment to complete the job in August 2021. That's right...2021!!! So, I have a partially operating wood burning stove, and the first day of winter is in just 11 days. The company's complete disregard to details, quality, communication, customer care and professionalism tells me that I should have never hired them, and I STRONGLY discourage anyone else from wasting you money on them. BTW, my job came it at around $19,000, so this was a VERY expensive lesson learned. Oh, and to add insult to injury...before the job was even partially completed...while their construction crew was still on site, their inside sales team called and sold me on doing a chimney cleaning next summer. I WILL be canceling that cleaning. And by doing that, I will no longer have a guarantee on this wood stove or their work. They only guarantee their work if they continue to maintain the fireplace. WHAT A SCAM!
