The job went well but service provider on writing up my bill forgot to deduct the Angies List 5% off coupon.and I forgot too. So, I called their office and the office staff gave me a hard time to get back the promised discount coupon. The office staff insisted I find that coupon, and mail it to them with a note. I did do this although it was time consuming and inconvenient. All for $12.50 was hardly worth the inconvenience.

The guy that came over was pretty good and we were happy with him. He came and he checked our roof and he did what he was supposed to do on time and everything looked okay. The job was small and their minimum was $250. This was the only thing we thought they probably could have given a better discount, but we needed to get that done anyway so we went ahead and paid it and we did use the 10% Angie's List discount on that. He did a pretty good job. I would go with them if they give price negotiation, as I think that they are pretty good.

On May 29, a large branch from the neighboring property fell onto our roof. The home, unoccupied for several years, was owned by HUD and managed by a company in Miami FL. A hole was gouged in the roof that let rain in during a storm on the 31st. All of this was reported and dealt with through the mgmt company. Bone Dry Roofing was one of the contractors who bid on making the repairs. John Frey and Chad Buck inspected the damage on July 11. They were the ONLY contractor who identified the need to fix the gutter. I was notified on August 8 that Bone Dry had been awarded the contract. They came on the 12th and completed the repairs which involved repairing the hole, several yards of industrial rubber roofing, and replacing nearly two dozen shingles, less than 5 years old. They matched the shingles with the exact ones we had put on a few short years ago. On the 15th, they came back and replace -- not repaired, 28ft of gutter and the downspouts. Nice looking repairs. I was not able to be home and there was not a bit of evidence that the work crew had been there -- all trash, old roofing and gutter, and everything was gone and tidy when I returned home both evenings.

Eric was fantastic. I was literally in tears as I saw what I thought was a small issue balloon into something much bigger. I certainly did not know that the wood under our shingles was rotted! Eric was thorough, detailed, and knowledgeable. I am so happy with his work.
Description of Work: Tony, a Bone Dry scheduler, sent out Eric Minton for an emergency repair. If it was a simple repair it would have cost a flat rate, but Eric discovered it was not simple...He ended up replacing rotten wood that was hiding under our shingles and then fixing the roof itself.

While the crew did a good job I must give this company an "F" because of their lackof honesty especially when insurance work is involved. They will give you a good story about how they have a section of their company that will deal with your insurance company so "you don't have to worry about it"; they will tell you they reached an agreement with the insurance company and give you an estimate that is to the penny what the insurance company agreed to and then -- boom when the work is to be done all of a sudden if you want the entire job done it will be xxxx number of dollars more. I would not recommend Bone Dry Roofing to anyone and would never consider using them again. The crew did a decent job except a horrible mess was left in my attic. They did do a great job cleaning up outside, however. We have been trying to talk with Bone Dry; however, calls placed to management are not returned even when they say they will get back to us. This is truly not an honest company. Be very careful before using them.

Bone Dry did a great job on the 2008 siding and roofing job. They recently bid on a job to replace more siding on our house and to paint it, but JD Hostetter and Associates put in a better bid and we had them do the project. JD Hostetter completed the work this past week and did a excellent job.

We had a hail claim for our roof, so we called Bone Dry for a quote, on recommendation of friends and neighbors. And at first, things went well. Bone Dry sent a representative to our house to meet with our insurance adjuster on short notice within days of filing our hail claim. Then things started going south quick when we couldn't get status updates from our Bone Dry rep in terms of the claim or even a quote. The rep was hard to reach and would return calls/e-mails only after we would call (a number of times) to the office and complain. (And Sheila, who took our calls in the office, is very patient and helpful.) Long story short, it took 10 weeks to even get our claim/supplement approved. To be fair, some of this delay was attributable to the insurance adjuster, but the Bone Dry rep was far from proactive and really didn't seem to care. Quote in hand, then we had to wait to see shingles. And then wait for additional info for a supplement. And then wait for another appointment. All the time, we are calling and prodding the rep or the Bone Dry office. In the meantime, our roof damage allowed water to leak through our kitchen ceiling when it rained. When we called to Bone Dry to apprise them, they did sent the rep to put up a patch. But, if the roof has been replaced in a timely manner -- if Bone Dry truly wanted our business -- we never would have had the internal leak, and damage, and yet another supplement. Given all this, at the time to sign a contract, we asked the Bone Dry rep for a price break on some upgrades we were paying for. We were denied any consideration. At that point (about 12 weeks after the hail incident), we gave up, called another company (on Angies' List, not some fly-by-night joint), who beat Bone Dry's price by hundreds of dollars, and had the job completed in less than 2 weeks.

I was very pleased with what they did. They were great and their follow up was great. They were a little stuffy on communication but other than that the product was excellent. I've actually recommended them already. Obviously with roofing rain days matter and when we called them the timing was summer. They did not call me when they were coming out but called me the day after and told me they were going to be out the day before. They didn't call me to tell me that they had to reschedule and work out a new time. The sad part about it was that everybody I dealt with onsite was great; it's only with the office that seemed to drop that ball. They were very apologetic for it.

We recently had Bone Dry Roofing install a new roof and gutters. They did an excellent job for us and we wouldn't hesitate to use them again. When removing the original roof, damage was noticed and they took pictures of the damage to show us before the went further. Some new sheeting was needed and authorized at that time. The roof was completed in one day and then the gutter crew followed up and they were done in a day as well. Everything, from start to finish was done effeciently and professionally.

After we had hail damage in April of this year, we contacted Bone Dry about getting an estimate. After we received there's we had our insurance adjuster come out to provide his assessment. There were some sizable differences between the two. Our insurance reached out to Bone Dry and they were to review the estimates to see if they could close the gap. After months of my insurance trying to work things out with them and a lack of communication on Bone Dry's part, I attempted to contact the individual from Bone Dry who gave the original estimate. He never returned my call. We went with Universal Home Improvement and got the work done well, quickly, and for the price insurance quoted.

My recent experience has been a total nightmare. Like a train wreck. I am a property manager and I stick to a schedule for getting things done on the properties I manage. I block out time when I make appointments, and I expect my contractors to be diligent and keep their appointments, too. I called and spoke with Tracy, who originally set up an appointment for July 26th. She said the contractor would call when he headed over. I called her around 11:00 am and asked where he was. She checked and said SOMEHOW we didn't get put on the schedule. I had blocked out the day because this was going to be what I thought was a lengthly job. Got transferred to Toni, who apologized all over the place and is supposed to be some sort of "manager." She re-set the appointment for TODAY, August 8th (2013) -- I called at 8:00 am and spoke with a lady named Iesha who said I was on the schedule today. I then listened to my voice messages and there was one from the day before (August 7th) from a guy named Mike who said he was on his way out there. So, I called back, ended up talking with Toni AGAIN who checked the appointment and said it was done yesterday. I said I was supposed to be present for this so I could take before, during and after pictures to send to my owner. I don't know if the work was done or not since I wasn't there to see it. Imagine how I am going to feel when I tell the owner about this mess because it was I who recommended them in the first place! I can't even recommend to the owner that he pay for this because if it was done correctly, it should not be able to detect anything, since the siding was put back. That is why, as a property manager, I always show up for the appointments I make -- I want to report firsthand what transpires to the owner, most of whom live out-of-state. The reason I would doubt that this was even done was that years ago, I called Bone Dry to check my roof. They sent a man out and found a hole in the roof. He said they would be in touch with me for an estimate. After a month, I called Universal and they came out and fixed the hole. THEN, a few weeks later, I received an invoice from Bone Dry. I called them and told them that I never received their estimate so I had Universal do the work and it was already taken care of. Lesson Learned: As a property manager and realtor, I won't use Bone Dry ever again.

I contacted Bone Dry Roofing to do the replacement of my gutters that were damaged by an April hail storm. Bone Dry replaced my roof last year and did a tremendous job. The gutters turned out to be different. The finished work was fine. I had a problem because the contractors hired by Bone Dry showed up late and then left early. The downspouts where not connected yet and I had to wait until the next afternoon before they came back. The contractors told me one story on why they were leaving early and told the Bone Dry manager another one. The other problem was the clean up from tearing the old gutters down was horrible. I am still finding screws and bits of aluminum in my garden and landscaping weeks after they were done. bottom line: Love their roofing people. Do not like the gutter people.

Bone Dry's crew showed up on time and the quality of their work was very good. I think with any contractor, sometimes communication could be a bit better between the company and the crew. But overall I am extremely happy with them. The biggest issue we had was with the sliding patio door. We had signed up for one brand of door, and Bone Dry tried to switch to a different manufacturer because of lead time, but we stood our ground on it and they were fine with that. When we voiced our concerns, they were very professional in handling those things. Bone Dry helped me find solutions for multiple things going on with our home.
