Bone Dry Roofing

I returned home to find two 10' aluminum roof vent caps on my front lawn, obviously blown off in a windstorm. Bone Dry came out in a day to give me an estimate to re-attach the old vent caps. Hector said he could do the work immediately, Instead I waited for a second estimate. I ended up choosing Bone Dry and they came out in a couple of days later even though their advertised response in 14-21 days. Their quick response was due to it being some-what of an emergency. Hector came out when he said he would, went right to work and brought new roof vent caps instead of using my old ones. While there I requested an estimated to repair a small area of damage to a few shingles. I accepted the estimate and he repaired the damage immediately. Hector did the estimate and the work.

When I made the appointment, they clearly asked for information on the # of floors in my home, structure type, etc... in order to be prepared to do the assessment, however when the gentleman showed up he didn't have a ladder tall enough. Since I had taken off work that morning to be there, I found that to be very frustrating. The representative promised to come back the next day with the proper equipment and said I didn't need to be home--great! That was on December 10th. As of today, I STILL haven't received the assessment. I contacted the office twice to ask for the information and both times I was told that they would send the assessor and "email" asking him to provide me with the information. Why couldn't they just call their employee?? It really didn't matter though because in my error in waiting for them to get back to me I've now had significant damage to my ceiling and walls because of that leak and the heavy storms that moved through Indy over the holidays. When I have a problem outside my scope of experience, I contact a professional. This company is obviously NOT professional. That was my mistake that I won't make again and I'm sharing this review so no one else makes an uninformed decision to use them going forward.

The work was covered under my insurance however bone dry decided to upgrade the materials without consulting anyone and over charged me. My insurance would not cover the full cost because of how much money bone dry was asking for and when I spoke with my insurance, they told me that bone dry over charges all of their customers. I spoke with bone dry and was told that they will use what materials they want and do not have to ask me for permission. I want a refund for the additional cost since I did not ask for the upgraded material and since it was not what was covered under my insurance.

Very impressed with the work done and materials used. They appear to use quality materials, take pride in their workmanship, and warrant their work. They found some wood siding that had water damage, replaced and painted it. They protected windows, doors, and landscaping from damage while they worked. They did a nice job of cleaning up after the job. Also, they noticed two bathroom vents vented only to the attic and installed roof vents for them at no additional charge. I do not believe I could have found a company that would have done a better job.

Bone Dry sent a guy who does good work with the stucco repair, he was punctual and communicative and generally nice to work with. However, the proposal and bidding process could be greatly improved. This was a very expensive job and was originally quoted at 9,000. Yet there were not enough details in the bid to truly understand what was going to be done and the photos and video detail were not made available as part of the bid. The lack of detail was apparent as even the guy doing the work appeared to be unsure exactly what was bid in some cases. To their credit, Bone Dry adjusted the bid lower when it was realized that the scope of work would not be as large as originally quoted. Part of the job included doing the fit and finish work to caulk and paint to match. Unfortunately, the guy caulked a window shut that was functional and while he agreed to prime before painting, only seemed to do that after I insisted. Luckily, we were around to watch the job being done and, as usual, overall supervision of the job was necessary to ensure the quality that we expected for the handsome price. Overall, work is good quality on stucco, bidding and proposal process needs to improve.

Worker arrived later than expected (9:30 - 9:40 vs. 9 AM) and completed the inspection as requested. He had to leave to pick up some shingles which further delayed the completion of the work. He provided photos and an inspection report. Overall service was completed as expected.

Two issues - scheduling/coordination, and an error in the roofing quote that omitted gutters from the work order. They made it all good in the end, but it was frustrating. I had 4 companies come out to the house to quote the work. Only two ended up actually sending quotes. Bone Dry was the highest quote of the two I received, but their quote was the most thorough and the proposed work addressed all my concerns with what needed to be done. I received the quotes for the work from three different divisions of Bone Dry - roofing, masonry, and exteriors. Since I knew the three departments would need to coordinate schedules I submitted all three signed approvals as a single attachment in one email to all three sales guys. Masonry work would need to come first, then roofing, then exteriors was the plan. First I received a call to schedule the roofing. I said I was having masonry and exterior work done so all that would need to be coordinated and that masonry needed to schedule first. About a week later I got a call from the exterior folks - same story - I told them to coordinate with masonry and roofing. Finally got the call from masonry (said they were backed up when quoting, so the timing was as expected) and all seemed OK. Masonry work on the chimney looked great. A pretty good match on 40 year old brick and workmanship looks great to me. They worked well into the night in order to get it done on time. Roofing followed about a week later and then exterior for soffits and wrapping the trip, fascia, freeze boards, etc. Exterior crew was working around our old, dented, falling-down gutters. When I asked about guttering they said it was not listed for our house - so I a few emails and phone calls later I learned that it was an error in how the roofing quote was prepared and gutters were not in the queue. That meant that the trim work was being compromised by them working around the old gutters. Once all this was clarified the exterior crew pulled down the gutters and went back to replace the trim they had already installed under the old gutters. So in the end I was satisfied with the work done and don't feel any corners were cut and the error regarding the gutters was resolved to my satisfaction. The different departments of Bone Dry need to communicate/coordinate better, and the Bone Dry folks I talked to about this agreed that there is room for improvement.

The first available appointment was about a week out, and the company failed to show up for that appointment, which was then rescheduled for a few days later. Someone came out and we found what would seem to be the problem, which was a very rigid caulk on all the seams of the copper, which failed to flex with the weather and changing conditions. The solution would be to re-caulk with a more flexible and more appropriate product. The price verbally quoted was $425.00, to which I enthusiastically agreed and said I needed the work completed ASAP, as the roof is leaking. He assured me he would be on the case immediately. Several days went by with no phone call and no email. Over the next three weeks, I called and emailed several times with absolutely no response whatsoever. I assume Bone Dry isn't interested (although they never said as much), and now I've gone for another three weeks with a leaky roof when I could have been scheduling some other roofing company. Mainly, I resent having my time wasted. There are only so many remaining days before the winter sets in, and I'd like to get this issue resolved before then.

Purchased Angie's List Big Deal in preparation for winter weather, promptly scheduled, worked quickly, have used Bone Dry before, and as always, pleased with service.

Arrived on time and worked hard. Very respectable. Cleaned up debris. Done on time.

I didn't use them. It took them two weeks to even come out and look at the roof. I assumed that once they looked at the roof they would be able to do something. There was two loose shingles and I assumed that when they came out they would be able to do it and he said, no, I'm just out here for an estimate. He gave me the estimate for $250. I said, for two loose shingles? Was there something else wrong on the roof? He said, I didn't walk the roof, it's too windy. So, he gives me an estimate and doesn't even give me an estimate on full repairs because he didn't even walk the roof. I called the manager and I complained. I said, first of all, $250 is ridiculous for two loose shingles and then he didn't even walk the roof. He's like, well, that's our fee just to come out. I said, then you should have told me that when I first called. I had to wait two weeks just to get you out for the estimate and then you don't even repair it and then your estimate isn't even complete. They called me three times to make sure I was going to be home. It was beyond persistent, constantly calling to see if I was going to be home. I was like, why do I need to be home, you aren't even doing the work. I won't use them. I think they should explain their process when you call. They should say, we're coming out to do an estimate, we will not do the job that day. They should also say if we can't walk your whole roof we're going to reschedule with you, but they didn't. Obviously, I don't want them to be up there if it's dangerous. That would be no issue to me to reschedule but don't send somebody out and hold me up and not even inspect the roof because it's too windy out and then give an estimate without even walking the roof. You could have given me that estimate just not even coming out.

My house is only 8 years old but I read in a magazine that you should have your roof checked every 5 years. There was a little bit of hassle with the scheduling. Other than that, once they came out, the guys that came out were very professional, very helpful. I didn't need any roof repairs or anything so it was completely free. I just felt like they were very honest. I don't know anything about roofs. They could have gotten up there and said oh it needs all kinds of repair but they said my roof was in great shape. They were very professional. Once they made the final arrangements to come out they were very punctual.

Long wait for estimates, just disappointed with the customer service.

Crew arrived at 8 AM, started removing old roofing. By early afternoon, they were prepared to start installing the new shingles. Workers were friendly but worked nonstop. I received a phone call at about 7 PM that said the roof was done and would return the next morning for clean-up, which they did a good job of. Received everything as promised.

Very satisfied, but initially set up for 10 / 13. I took day off from work and then they cancelled. They did a good job of cleaning up but could have been better. They cut off number of branches and were going to let us get rid of them, they ended up taking them. They moved stuff out of their way and never put anything back. *BIG plus: no cig butts ! In the yard.

The work was done very well. I was at Fort Rucker, Alabama when the inspection was being performed. I was made aware of the work that needed to be done and the overall condition of my roof by phone calls and pictures. I was made aware of the problem at the vent pipe and this was corrected the next day. Have not had a problem since. I would definitely use this provider again.

I got 3 estimates from grade A Angie's List roofers. I picked Bone Dry - have used before. They called with date & time when rain delayed start. Arrived on time and started immediately - they didn't stop until the job was done - clean up was careful and the crew was polite, respectful, careful of all grounds. Great new look. I expect the new roof to last a long time - so I won't see them again soon (I hope). I will recommend them to anyone who needs roofing work - or siding - great job - great crew. Oh - one more thing - the sales people were straightforward - no "pushy" sales - and they delivered 100%.

Bone dry never responded to e mail sent via Angie's list - Ended up calling for an appointment - but they never followed up with an estimate, despite 2 phone calls. Gentleman who came to give estimate on roof repair was prompt and professional but the follow up from this company has been very poor. Would not recommend this company.

It took a little over a week after the initial call and estimate for the job to be completed. They initially had been set to come at 8:30 in the morning, but had to call and reschedule due to another job that ran overtime. Fortunately, we met Dustin as he was coming to the house and as we were leaving to make an airport pick-up. The job was completed while we were gone. Looking from the ground up, the shingle replacement meets my husbands expectations. Dustin left a note saying he had walked the roof and sealed a couple spots around a couple other vents and said we needn't have future roof worries.

The company quoted me 890 dollars. When the work was done they charge me 300 dollars more than what we had agreed to. On top of that there needed to be repair done soon after they had done the work. They sent someone out to try and fix it and it still had issue even now. I wouldn't recommend them.

I interviewed 6 companies to solicit bids for replacing the roof on my house and all that's involved in that service. Bone Dry Roofing stood out head and shoulders from the rest who of the competition who were meant to be good. I met with Tom Whitford who inspected my roof and attic spaces throughly and then presented his conclusions. Tom was professional, super knowledgable and great to talk with to fully understand what process I was letting myself in for. His technical insight into the product was exactly what I wanted, brilliant. While Bone Dry were not the cheapest, nor the most expensive, they were the ones who gave me the most confidence that I was getting the best service at a great price. The other companies didn't even check my attic space, and one didn't even really walk the roof, just threw out a number! I have already recommended Bone Dry to several friends and neighbors and will continue to sing their praises. Tom was great to work with throughout the process and Kevin the supervisor who installed the roof with his excellent crew was again superb. No question was to much trouble and he updated me throughout the day as to how the job was progressing and a finish time. The clean up afterwards was amazing. I was concerned about the nails which may fall on the ground ( 2 young children and a dog) and the landscaping getting destroyed, but everything was immaculate after the clean up. Not a single rose broken. I love Bone Dry Roofing. Great company, great morals and ethics, but more importantly great workmanship and value for money. A+++++ is my rating.

They were fine. They were also easy to deal with throughout the process. The only issue I had was that I wanted a paper copy of the warranty, but they wouldn't give me one.

It took 2 weeks to get a response from them about my job. It has now been 3 weeks but they still have yet to still anyone out. They finally called on the 3rd week but advised it would be another 10 days before someone could actually come out to complete the job. I understand busy, but that is extreme!

Hector was on time. Very polite. Very knowledgeable. He was careful around shrubs. The process was quick. I was satisfied with the work. I has since seen a similar package offered by other companies for about half the price. I paid for the deal when it was booked, but got an invoice requesting payment. It was $10 less than I actually paid. When i called about the invoice, customer service said invoice should not have been sent and to disregard. This service possibly could be obtained directly with the company instead of through Angie's Deals
