This company has great reviews so I'm not sure what the deal is...
Description of Work: Company visited house and emailed me a quote. I never received the email and they never followed up. About a week later, I called and they emailed (Oct 20th) the quote. I later responded (Oct 27th) to the email that I wanted to get on the list to get the work done. I never heard back. I called on Nov 1st and left a message and still haven't heard back.

The sales person was prompt and professional. The work crew showed up on time, and started working immediately. They were quick and effective, and we are very happy with our overall experience.
Description of Work: Tear off of existing roof (including gambrel). Suggested additional vents for type of roof. Installed new roof.
Quoting process (A-): I interviewed several companies for the work and ultimately decide to go with Bone Dry. My decision was based on Angies List ratings, Bone Dry's ability to do all these repairs in-house, and their price. Bone Dry's quotes for all of this work were fairly detailed and the sales people instilled confidence in their ability to get everything done properly. Chimney Rebuild (A-): - Overall this went well and I?m satisfied with the results - One subsequent visit was required towards the end of this project to repair some poor mortar joints exposed during the removal of my original gutters. These should have been found originally, but nobody took the time to remove the old gutters and look underneath. - Graciously fixed some bricks broken by the siding crew Roofing Replacement (D-) - These guys were quick, but their workmanship was very poor - Discarded my Dish Network satellite dish after I explicitly asked them to save it and set it aside - Broke my pool pump plumbing and chlorinator unit. What was most disturbing is that NOBODY told me this happened and I discovered it on my own. Furthermore, someone from Bone Dry tried to fix the broken parts (before I knew about it) with inappropriate plumbing items from a local hardware store. I was very disappointed. - Installed improper roof decking patches that straddled the trusses. This was after I explicitly asked for the old roof vent holes in the decking to be re-decked from rafter to rafter. Someone from the roofing crew apparently nearly stepped through one of these patches, as I could see the broken OSB from inside the attic. - Crew didn?t have enough foresight to remove my old gutters before installing new drip edge. This forced them to spend unnecessary time notching the drip edge to fit around old gutter supports and leaving me with drip edge with notched for nothing. - Crew also should have removed the rotted facia board we discussed early on in the project, because removing this rotted facia later (by siding crew) led to more damage on drip edge and more time wasted. - Crew left a lot of debris in my attic (shingles, nails, felt, cut OSB, old dryer vents). I had to remove all of this via one large lawn bag through my attic access hole - After I inspected the roofing job from the outside, I discovered several scuffed, torn, and patched areas. This, along with the fact that the roof decking needed replaced in 3-4 areas, forced the crew to come back and replace a large amount of my shingles and decking. Window Replacement (A-) - This went very well. Fit and finish was very good. - These two guys did a good job communicating with siding crew, as they were both working at the same time. - Just a couple spots where I had to add caulk to the outside Siding Replacement (D-) - These guys were also quick, but many oversights were made. Nobody checked material color/style before beginning job, which lead to a TON of wasted time/effort. - Wrong vinyl trim color - Wrong facia wrap color bent and partially installed - Wrong siding installed (dutch lap versus 5? overlap). Had to reside entire house with correct siding several days later - Left a couple areas where siding was bulged out due to underlying surface imperfections. Later resolved. - Ignored my initial request to replace some OSB near my chimney (where moisture was penetrating wall). If I hadn?t been on-site, this would have been overlooked. - Damaged a small bush by placing their scaffolding in center of bush - Broke a large paving stone near outside water faucet - Damage new shingles so severely that a large portion had to be replaced (for the 3rd time!!!!!!). - Broke several mortar joints and bricks at top row of my first story. They tried to hide damage by using nails to prop up bricks and cover suspect joints with bottom row of siding. Gutter Replacement (B+) - Install looks pretty good and they helped resolve the lingering drip edge issue created by the roofing and siding crews. - Some initial confusion on gutter color. This was frustrating to me because I was very specific about wanting ?white? when I communicated with Bone Dry. - Ran larger downspout through and existing hole in deck, without enlarging hole in deck properly. I later had to get out the sawzall and enlarge the hole to accommodate the larger downspout. Billing (C) - Overall this went well, but somewhat confusing due to all the different divisions and billing departments. - Siding bill did not initially include the 5% multi-trade discount shown on the original quote. Since this was my last invoice, I figured it would be pretty apparent that I qualified for the multi-trade discount. Project Management (D+) - Bone Dry is extremely good at addressing issues once they occur (which is often), but horrible at preventing mistakes in the first place. - Nobody was running my project overall. There were many job leaders for each trade and communication was somewhat hit-and-miss between the groups. I basically had to serve as general contractor to a certain extent to make sure everyone knew what was expected. - Not a lot of thought was put into the sequence of events and consider why it might be a good idea to do certain tasks before/after others. A customer paying Bone Dry for all this work shouldn?t have to worry about this. One of the aspects of Bone Dry that I initially found attractive is that they offer so many trades in one place. One would expect Bone Dry to be good at coordinating all these trades, but this is not true. The different crews seem to be motivated by getting a job done as quickly as possible. There needs to be some accountability instilled within the crews, as it relates to owners property, bringing issues to the attention of the owner, workmanship criteria, etc. All of the aforementioned items were issues that should have been found and resolved by the crew and/or crew leaders?not by me after looking over their work. I felt that everyone was just trying to get in and out as fast as possible, hoping I?d not notice the poor workmanship or damage they created or discovered. For this reason, I lost complete trust in your company during this project. There were a couple supervisors, however, that can be trusted and at least followed through on every commitment they made to me. For that I am grateful.
Description of Work: I hired Bone Dry to replace the roof, repair upper 1/3 of chimney, replace gutters, replace 11 windows, and replace siding (2nd story) on my home.

Bone Dry responded to a Sunday e-mail for an appointment the next morning (Monday) and the estimate was completed Tuesday afternoon. The roof repair was done the following Monday. The work was done expertly and thoroughly in very short time. The following week the gutter was repaired and gutter cover installed. The workers also took the initiative to repair and rescrew 4 other gutters not requested!

I had a representative come out to give me a quote. I had trouble reaching him a few times during the process of getting the contract signed. It was a great experience from the very start to the completion of the job! Our sales Rep. Danny Owens was very personable and knowledgeable when he gave the quote and immediately called us back with the answers to any questions we had all along the way. Our roofing crew with Gary Harper as the foreman worked very hard all day long on the hottest day recorded this year! Gary went above and beyond in making sure everything was done correctly and Bone Dry even re-roofed our storage building at no extra charge! The crew worked until about 7pm to finish up the job and completed everything in 1 day. Everything was done very efficiently and our yard was left immaculate. We couldn't have been more pleased with everyone involved and will recommend Bone Dry to everyone! The skylights are fantastic and we love the natural light we now have in our den! Thank you Bone Dry for a fantastic new roof and skylights we will enjoy for years to come!

It went very well. I met with Cody once but he had gone to look at it before our meeting. He thought it was 1 issue but after a through inspection the second time he felt it was another issue. He decided to put up a temporary fix and wait and see if that was indeed the issue. After a good rain and now standing water we scheduled the job. His guys came out while I was at work, fixed my issue and cleaned out a few gutters.
Description of Work: My gutter and my roof didn't meet up and when it rained the water just poured off the roof and onto the ground leaving standing water. I was unaware of what the issue was but I needed the roof fixed.

The projects went well. The work was done on schedule and for the prices quoted in advance. The quality of the work appears to be excellent. Although the price appears to have been slightly higher than competitors quoted, the quality of work, service, and responsiveness made for good value. We would use Bone Dry again, but we don't expect to have to replace our roof during our lifetime.

The estimator arrived on time and had a rough bid worked up by the time I arrived. He was not particularly helpful in recommending potential cures for exisiting ventilation problems of which I was aware. Decided to go a head with their proposal based on company's reputation and work I had observed in the neighborhood. Scheduler was very helpful and flexible in setting up appointment to do work so that I could be present. The work crew showed up on time, and the supervisor gave a courtesy call beforehand to make me aware that they were in route. Upon arrival, they immediately started working while protecting windows, shrubs, and doors with tarps and OSB sheeting. They appeared to be well organized and efficient The supervisor and I looked at the problem area together. He recommended tearing off a small section of decking to view the insulation/ventilation setup. Upon doing this we recognized their was no allowance made in the original design for ventilation of the area. The supervisor recommended decking tear off, installation of air baffles in the area, and replacement with new decking. He provided me an estimate of the additional work, and I gave permission to proceed. Tear off of the old shingles and decking repairs were completed before noon because they used a large crew (approximately 16 people). Roof (48 squares) was completed by approximately 3:30 pm, and I judged the roofing job overall was very good. The supervisor himself added some additional soffit vents and came back the next day to install insulated ducting for bathroom fans. Things that could have been better included the following: 1. The crew took their lunch under some trees in our front yard which was not a problem, but what I later found or rather our dog found in the shrubs underneath our evergreen tree were bones that they discarded. They should have done a better job of clean up after their lunch. One of my neighbors commented that they were also kind of loud while working on the roof. Professionalism could be improved in this area. 2. In my opinion they did not do a particularly good job of cleaning up dropped nails despite using a magnet and people working on the ground to constantly clean up. We found numerous nails during the ensuing week (estimate >30) in our yard and driveway. I know it's tough to get them all, but this number seems excessive. We are still watching for them while outside. 3. Finally the supervisor I thought was a skilled carpenter and gave good advice or at least I hope good advice (time will tell) on how to correct the insulation problem, but he behaved more like one of the workers and less like a supervisor. He was gone a good part of the day picking up additional supplies and hauling away the tear off debris. It would seem these tasks could have been delegated so that he could stay on the job and actually supervise the work. The company provided warranty documentation with a free 5 years inspection provided I remember to contact them to request it.
Description of Work: Replaced existing roof with 30 years warrantied dimensional shingles. In addition, removed part of decking to install air baffles over cathedral ceiling plus added some soffit vents to alleviate existing roof ventilation problems. Also replaced some faulty decking (23 sheets total).

Basically after our 2nd meeting we needed more questions answered. Next thing, they "respectfully" withdrew their bid. 2 emails/phone calls asking why went unanswered. Bone Dry Roofing came to give us an estimate on repairing some storm damage. After giving us a "more than reasonable " quote they also pointed out what work they thought we should address in the future. They told us when they would return to do the repairs. The men showed up when they said they would, did the work that was quoted and also replaced a few missing shingles at no additional charge. Everyone was extremely friendly, very professional and took extra care in cleaning up after they were done. I wil be very happy to recommend them to anyone and will definitely be using them in the future.
Description of Work: Came to repair a hole in the roof caused by storm damage. Replaced a few missing shingles at no extra charge.
