BOB'S CONSTRUCTION

Came to work first day with a whole crew. Everyone went to work at their specified jobs. Work was finished a week earlier than time quoted. Replaced Clean-out in crawl space and cleaned the main drain.

Responded quickly to call and completed the repairs fast. Good communication ; kept me informed on a daily basis. Cleaned up work site. Did not stop until repairs were completed to my satisfaction.

The services provided were top-notch. We wanted this issue addressed immediately. Bob himself was at our house the evening we called to assess and give us an estimate, and he had his technician back at our home first thing the next morning- right on time. We will not hesitate to use him again for any issue with our home.

Overall, it was a good experience despite a couple of issues. Specifically, our project was pushed to the back of the line, and the workers didn't show on several occasions which delayed the project's completion for many weeks. This meant that the patio was finished in August rather than in April. Furthermore, the owner only stopped by a couple of times during the entire length of the project. Ultimately, it seemed as though the project was poorly managed and lacked a clear line of communication between the workers, the owner, and ourselves.

I had 4 estimates for the work and had to secure HOA approval before beginning. That took several weeks and in the meantime concrete workers were starting to get extremely busy because of everybody trying to get things done before the cold weather sets in and the co. I wanted to do the work would not call me back and when they did, they put me off again. I called Bob's my lowest estimate and they said they could do it tomorrow. :) They had truck problems and showed up the following day but did keep me informed. It appeared everybody knew each other but they wasn't like a a well oiled machine. I got the estimate from Bob's and they give it to another who puts together a team. From the start I asked that they try to keep the yard damage to a minimum with the bobcat that they used for hauling material and removing dirt for the forms. Its a new house with fresh sod. I said I had 4x8 boards I could put down and they said it wasn't needed. After the job was done I noticed the bobcat tears the sod from the roots so I got damage to repair. I was told to expect some but I didn't expect this much. They did do some work by hand after ripping up part of the yard 6 inches deep. The job required running 4" gutter tubbing in the ground under the sidewalk out 14ft.I offered to supply it but a worker who was giving orders said he had a man coming with it. But he had 2 oddball cut pieces and no adapters that look nice and function better. The men complained about having to dig by hand in the hard clay soil & rock and done a poor job. One longer than the other and one not deep enough so I have a 3" hill above it now. They had to replace the forms 3 times because of not getting the work done in proper order. I asked that the steps be 16-18 inches deep. They made it 15 3/4" - 16". They had a flat tire on the bobcat and I helped supply some tools to fix it so they could get it done. I had to ask that they remove the excess sod and dirt taken out to make the forms for the walk. When they did they used the bobcat to load it and tore up more yard. They spilled diesel fuel in my yard transferring fuel from one container to another I guess for the bobcat. They splashed concrete on my vinyl and never cleaned it up. The steps are very rough looking around the sides but outside of that look good and we like the design they made in it. . It seemed no one was taking charge of making sure the job site was cleaned up and cared for properly. I know now why some companies charged extra to use a cart or buggy to haul the material in, cause the bobcat had to make a lot of trips and done a lot of damage to get the material in place and now I'm working hard repairing my yard.

Bob met with my insurance adjuster and worked with him to explain the nature of the roof damage. The adjuster agreed with Bob's assessment and the insurance covered the repairs. Bob's team was professional and efficient. We needed the repairs to be complete in order to close on the sale of our home and Bob's guys worked late the night before closing and early the next morning to finish the last details. We closed as planned.

The contractor came out to do an estimate and never returned the call nor provided a written estimate.

These guys are storm chasers we found them because they had came to the house after a storm to offer their service. They had to come out and fix my siding multiple times and were not very professional. It took them awhile to fix the screens as they said it was not part of the work order with the insurance company and we had to call and argue with them to get the screens fixed as well.

The overall job started later than planned and it took more time than forecasted. The delay was due to wet weather early in the week. The + 1/2 day was not really an issue but the contractor could have communicated the issue sooner than they did. The project took longer due to a few delays in getting materials plus the removal process was more involved than anticipated. With regards to the overall execution of the work, the crew was friendly and they worked hard. The concrete to be removed was thicker than normal in some areas. This caused delays, concrete handling/storage issues on site and resulted in damage to my yard plus the street. The contractor was not prepared to handle and store the removed concrete it appeared. Big piles of removed concrete was placed directly in the street and its removal was not timely. One big surprise when the work was completed was a request for more $$. I felt this was not appropriate and the method to do so was not professional. I did in the end agree to pay a portion of the $$ requested. Additonally, there was significant damage to my yard plus some damage to the street payment. The crew lead did agree to come back and repair these areas. The crew lead did come back to attempt to repair the lawn but not to my expectations. I had to call to get the street looked at plus there were issues with the concrete regrding spots, concrete sealing, etc. The street asphalt was partially addressed but no real follow-up was provided with regards to my concrete appearance issues. I called again but there was no contact made by the contractor to address my concerns. Overall, I have a driveway that is acceptable but not meeting my expectations due to spots and it appears poor application of the concrete sealer. Ironically, several of my neighbors completed similar projects with another Angie's list member. It appears their projects were completed without and in a more professional manner.

We went with a different provider.

Several things went wrong... Had a severe leak in my great room...Bob insisted it was due to the skylights and would not work with me on a price to replace the skylights...they said they were old and needed to be replaced. MY ROOF HAD NEVER LEAKED BEFORE THE ROOF REPLACEMENT! I was so upset after the encounter with Bob that I contacted another contractor on Angiei's List and had the skylights replaced...still had leaks...this same company worked with me for several months trying to figure out where the actual problem was...as it turns out the flashing and roofing material around the chimney had not been done properly by "Bob's" people and that is where the water was coming in...the wood at the roofline was damaged and stained. The 2nd company then repaired this with new flashing and reroofed the chimney area then also, repaired several other areas that had not been done correctly on the roof by Bob's crew. Because of the above I will NEVER have "Bob" do other work for me and would not recommended him to anyone.

They did a great job and did a good job of cleaning up afterwards. Their price was much better than other bids we had gotten.

They did a quality job. They helped us to get the best deal we could on materials to help manage the cost of the project. When we had a question, they responded quickly. I recommend them!

The workers were very professional. They worked hard the whole time they were here. Our crawlspace is entered via our utility room; they even cleaned up the floor before leaving. Upon my calling the company, Bob was very prompt in surveying the jobs beforehand. I have several other projects needing repairs which I have requested this company to do for me.

I called Bob's Construction because I was referred to them by a friend. They were very punctual. An appointment was scheduled for the following day after I had called. The price was very fair, and the salesman was very friendly and honest. We signed the contract and the work was completed within a couple of days. I would use Bob's Construction again,and recommend them.

-No time set. -Came and went whenever, not when they said they would come. (said they be there at 8:30 and did not show up till noon). -Does not call to say they will not be there. -Workers were unreliable. -Made the customer feel the need to keep doors locked all the time. -Did not go over any visual paperwork. -Smelled of cigarette smoke all the time. -Left trash everywhere. -Contacted them months before and gave a start date but did not start until weeks later. -Gave an estimate and still went $3,000 over budget. -Was told we could use two coupons at the beginning, but during payment they only took one.

Bob's construction replaced our entire roof approximately 5 years ago. We were so happy we referred them to many friends - 2 of which also used Bob's for roof replacement. Recently we experienced a leak which was obvious because thankfully it was directly above our whole house fan. Looking up through the fan it appeared the leak was coming from the roof vent. A representative from Bob's was able to respond quickly for a bid. They told me the 2 roof vents were reaching the end of their useful life and quoted us $350 to replace them, which felt a little high. I got a second opinion and that company showed me that a shingle had been cut all the way through (we have big trees and branches do fall somewhat regularly), and it was the cause of the leak. Obviously hired the second company for the job. No leaks after several rains since.

He is very prompt. He gets back to you right away and really takes care of you. He is a very busy man but he really takes the time to talk to you and address any issues you have. He is very professional. The quality of work is great, all the sub-contractors are great people also. I am very glad I found him.

It was a 12 on a 10 point scale! I would highly recommend him!

He does all sorts of things including decks. When I spoke with him on the phone, he was pleasant and very nice. He had a pleasant speaking voice.

The men that worked for Bob's Construction were all very professional and did an excellent job for us.. Some of the work was completed while my family was out of town. They were punctual, completed the work and cleaned up the area they worked on that day, and if necessary, returned and completed the balance of that particular part of the job the next day. The work was started upon agreement date. The carpentry work was started first and completed. The interior was completed before the roof was started. The roof was put on in one day using at least 11 workers. They began at 8.00am and completed the roof at 7:00PM. All the workers were very efficient, professional and did their job in a professional manner. If I had any concerns on any of the on going work, Bob would return my call in a timely manner or come out to see what concerns I had. He was always cooperative and displayed high ethical work methods. He always made sure I was satisfied with the job and respected me in a professional way. I would like to acknowledge some of his outstanding crew members who did a wonderful job and were very responsible and knowledgeable in their job they performed. Matt, Adrian, Gary Jody and Juan. From the secretary to the workers and Bob the owner I thank them all for a job well done. I was very satisfied with the overall experience.

Worker arrived at scheduled time. He worked in a professional manner. He completed the work in a timely manner. He was very respectful and friendly. I was very pleased with the job and told him so. I would hire him again for future window replacement.
