Black Hawk Pest Control

Black Hawk Pest Control just removed a basketball sized wasp nest from a tree in my yard. They were fantastic to work with. The owner, Scott, promised to have someone here in a day, he explained who exactly would be showing up, and when I mentioned a smaller nest that I could probably handle myself this winter, he said they could just go ahead and handle it for no extra cost. The gentleman who showed up, Ryan, was very professional looking, explained exactly what he would be doing, and provided information about what to expect over the next couple of days based on the life cycle and behavior of hornets. Besides how great this company was in handling my problem, their price was much better than expected. Besides handling insects, they also are experienced in rodent control. Should another need arise in the future I will definitely be calling Black Hawk.

Scott & his daughter were wonderful to work with. They first removed all of the cobwebs to ensure their treatment was effective, answered all of my questions, and sprayed both inside and out. We no longer look like we're celebrating halloween in August! We'll definitely hire them again!

He was able to remove a large hornets nest from our rental property and sprayed additional areas for prevention. I have used Scott for many years and he’s always done such great work for me. He handles the mice right away and if there’s any sneaky little buggers that get back in he comes right over and takes care of it. The spiders are all dead too! He really cares about his customers and he knows his stuff! You’ll be very happy with him.

Scott and his daughter Maddie came and helped us with a deer mouse problem. They were thorough and thoughtful especially since we have a dog and 3 small children. They took the time to check everything and made us feel at ease about the issue. You feel gross and like you’ll be judged for issues like these in the home, but they made us feel better knowing that this could happen to any house hold and that they were there to help us get rid of the issue!

Punctual, courteous, professional, and my infestation went away virtually overnight. They even offered to come back if I did not see a solution the first go-round at no charge to me and we're very sensitive to my concerns about toxic chemicals around my fur babies.

Scott Black was excellent! Extremely professional and courteous. He asked us what the mouse looked like to identify the species it was and explained we were likely dealing with multiple mice. My wife was concerned with making sure our dogs couldn't find an eat the bait, or a mouse that had consumed it. Scott explained the bait he used would not cause a 'secondary kill' so we would not need to worry about the dogs if they did capture an ailing mouse. The bait that was placed in a spot the dogs could access was secured in a box maze that required a key to open. After a day or two there were no further signs of mice and haven't been since. Scott's price included the offer for him to come back out and place more bait the following week if we were still seeing mice or droppings.

I have used them consistently twice a year over the past 3 years. I would use them again. They talk and tell you exactly what is wrong. They don't do something that does not need to be done. Pretty honest, and pricing is excellent. He is self employed so it is just him.

I give them an A across the board.

He was extremely professional and came out when he said he would and gave me a reasonable quote and timeline to get rid of the yellow jackets and to do a perimeter spray of the house. It didn't quite take the first time, but he came back out to complete the job and I am happy to say that the issue was resolved and we felt safe walking around the front of our home. The only issue was that he didn't accept credit cards, so I had to get and mail a check- which he was more than accommodating to. Overall Scott was fantastic and I would highly recommend him to anyone who needs pest work.

We were replacing some rotten boards above the back door. When the contractor pulled off the board, dozens of ants fell on him and he uncovered a significant nest of carpenter ants. I immediately called exterminators, but it was a Friday afternoon. Mr. Black got back to me that day and scheduled to come by that Monday. He gave me his price up front and described a thorough plan of attack after a few quick questions about our home size and a few other things. On Monday, he arrived a few minutes early to get a look at the nest site (now empty). He covered the interior of the house thoroughly, made a perimeter around the house, saturated the nest area (even allowed me to tear off more wood to reveal active ants and larvae, which he then further sprayed). He answered my questions regarding the products' safety around my small kids and was careful about not spraying my vegetables planted close to the house. He is willing to return at no charge if our ants aren't gone in the next 30 days. His prompt and thorough service has helped us get back to finishing our construction project.

Very well. Black Hawk pest control came back another time within the 30 days when we thought the rodent problem was not resolved yet.
