He was excellent and only left a very small scar on my knee. He was very good at the surgery. The talked to me so that I understood everything. He was very good talking to me when I had any questions. I could call up there to have any questions answered. They also have a location in Carmel, Indiana, too.

I went to Dr. Berend initially for a second opinion and decided to have him do the surgery after talking to him.  He did not pressure me but clearly and patiently explained the situation and my options.  I have recommended him to others and they have told me they were very happy with their experiences as well.

He did an excellent job. He explained everything to me and did what he said he would do. He was spot on and I didn't have any surprises. He was very punctual and his staff was great.   I haven't had any problems since.

After calling and making an appointment in February, I finally saw him April.  The wait was sure worth it.  He took another ex ray of my knee and after showing me the xray said I only needed a partial right knee replacement.  He throoughly went over the procedure and answered quite a few questions my wife and I had.  June 13th was the day of surgery.  It was an hour surgery and after coming out of the anthestic, they made sure I was able to walk with the aid of a walker.  I was back home in 3 hours.  Went back for my 2 week check up and they were so pleased the progress I had made.  I'm doing just fine!
Dr. Berend is and outstanding physician who cares for his patients.  I would not hesitate to call him again if I had any problems with my left knee.  Anyone reading this, who made be hesitant about knee surgery and what all is involved, please call and make an appointment with Dr. Berends.  It will take some time to get in to see him because he is much in demand.
To Dr. Berend and his staff,  thank you very much.  You are the cream of the crop!  God bless all of you.

He is just a really cool doctor. He has the right personality for me. The hospital listened to what I wanted in a physician and recommend him to me. He has the right tough and can put you at ease. I really like him. My experiences have been excellent with the hospital and the doctor. The hospital billing and insurance was the only negative I had.

The clinic was wonderful, everything was mapped out for you when you leave the hospital, and when you are in the hospital everything was there just for the patient.  It was all fine tuned.   It runs like a well oil machine...everything is perfect and perfected because of the many patients that have gone before us.  If the need arises we would use the clinic again in the future. 

He is a very caring person, and very helpful too. He answers questions and discusses options. He is really nice to anybody who is not sure about the procedure, or whether they need it or not. He will be the first one to tell you who decides, because I saw him one time, and he said when the pain is bad enough you will call me, and when it was six months I called him. He is very thorough. I liked everything about him. He is absolutely wonderful.

I've had two hips replaced.  I couldn't ask for anybody better than this doctor.  Perhaps if I have to have anything replacing, he's definitely where I'm heading.

Admitted at the Joint Replacement Center, St. Francis Hospital, Mooresville, IN. the morning of 1/31/2011.  Surgery about 9:30 AM, out of recovery in time to eat lunch.  Hospital stay was comfortable with attentive staff.  Discharged on 2/3/2011.    Driving and walking unassisted by 3/1/2011.  Return to work on 4/5/2011.  Physical therapy twice weekly until 4/19/2011. 

It could not have been better- pretreatment, treatment and post treatment-all terrific!I had no pain after surgery.

The whole experience from day one to the day they released me was a top, excellent experience with everyone I dealt with that was involved. He took his time to explain everything to me - what he was going to do, how it was going, everything. I have recommended him to others who have also had a great experience with him.
