ANDREA'S GARDEN CENTER INC

We have purchased firewood three separate time from Andrea’s, for about $100 when you pick up and haul away. We have purchased annuals, vegetables, fruits and herbs there at least three years. We have been sorry when we purchased elsewhere, as we get a great volume and quality of harvest with their plants. Sometimes, their perennials are out later than other nurseries, and the perennial prices are a little higher than other garden centers for the size of the plants. All in all I would recommend!

This copy of one of our many emails tells the story of our ongoing struggle to even get a response from the new manager or owner of Andrea's Garden. We have multiple other letters requesting that they contact us and we stopped by and talked with the new manager multiple times with the expectation that the owner would respond and never got any response. Dear Billy and manager, Linda and I have stopped by numerous times and written emails for over a year now with promises from your previous manager Mandy that our issues would be resolved and promises by your current manager that we would be contacted after each of our visits to the shop. Our time and willingness to be good sports and continue to wait for contact is now gone. You can see by my previous letters that the work was never done correctly or satisfactorily and we were charged for rolls of grass that not only did we not need but that died anyway. We continue to have weeds throughout the new grass and the mulch where we had asked that rolls of ground cloth be put under the mulch to stop weeds and you and the fellows did not do that so we have lots of weeds so the project did not help us by limiting the weeding we do as was intended. At this point, we would settle for $1000.00 return to pay for instillation of the drain that was never installed in the low spot and to return for the 5 rolls of unneeded grass that died anyway. We will still be left with a poor job of prepping the area because of the weeds that grew through the supposedly cleaned up area. We are tired of trying to relax about the timing of getting something done but it is unacceptable to simply ignore our requests to resolve the incomplete work.

The three loads and short trips home with mulch went great! On my third trip after being loaded up I got the unpleasant surprise that my old pickup would not start. It would just not turn over at all. The young lady working inside offered me her keys to her SUV, and let me give my truck a jump start off of hers. Cannot get any nicer than that! Thank you!

The young lady was very knowledgeable and made good suggestions. We purchased 4 items and received a 20% discount as they were having a sale.

We chose several bushes and trees from the sketch, with intentions to complete remainder in the future. The crew that came were industrious , followed the instructions we left at the center and cleaned up well. Very satisfied with the job.

All transactions went smoothly. They showed up when they said they would and did a quality job. I buy all my plants and seasonal flowers there.

I had bought a pair of arborvitae trees from them in the past, they died and I had them replaced with insurance. I then bought twelve new trees recently and they also died. When I called to get them replaced with the insurance, the company said they would not replace them and claimed I had not watered the trees. I had been watering the trees according to the companies instructions but they still refuse to replace them.


I had somebody else come out to plant new trees and the contractor found that the initial trees were planted in mulch and not in dirt. 

The company is still not taking responsibility and saying that it's my fault.

An estimate was done on May 6, 2014 for the needed back yard work. Once we accepted the quote, we were put on the work schedule. Work began on May 27, 2014 and was completed in one day. Work was completed by their crew and involved tilling, grade work and debris removal. Five cubic yards of a topsoil compost mix was brought in to fill in some of the areas where the backhoe and tractor tire tracks from the prior sewer work had left almost one foot deep impressions in the yard all the way from the side yard around to the back yard. At the same time a trench was dug for the plastic drain tile and drain box from the back of the house and heading out to an easement area at a lower elevation.  Grass seed, fertilizer and straw were then spread over the area that had been prepared. Mother Nature took care of the rest with some nice rains over the summer, and we now have nice green grass once again where there had been mostly broken up clay soil.
Only a couple of issues occurred with the job. Both were taken care of promptly by Andrea's Garden Center. The first minor issue was a glass tube rain gauge that was broken somehow during the yard work. I was allowed to deduct the cost of the rain gauge from the original invoice bringing the completed job down to $1139.61. The second issue was with the drain line where we found it not working properly after a heavy rain soon after the installation. Andrea's Garden Center promptly took care of the issue by adding several more feet of drain line to reach beyond a rise in the yard making the drain exit closer to the area of the easement which was at the lower elevation. They did this at no added cost to us which we really appreciated. It has worked fine since then and have not had any more standing water close to our foundation.

We built our home in 1982 and have been adding/subtracting trees and plants along the way. Our landscaping was beginning to look very overgrown and not at all coordinated. Sean at Andrea's Garden Center came out and put together a comprehensive plan for us. They were able to use a lot of what we already had so we were able to get a great result for a reasonable price.  A few days ago they installed everytihing and we are thrilled.  My husband is SUPER PICKY and he was extremely happy with the result!

I like the way the company operates.  The owner assesses the state of the yard each year and provides me with a detailed written estimate before doing any work.  Once I agree to the estimate, he sends a crew of 5 to 6 men who are always professional and hard-working.  Furthermore, they never leave any messes, and they always do a great job with the yard.

They were excellent. They transformed my landscape and it looks beautiful. The crew was the hardest working group of individuals that I have ever seen. They had 6 or 7 people working on it at one time and got the job done in 2 days. It was well worth the money.

They did an excellent job. They showed up on time and quickly performed all of the work. I was really impressed by how quickly they were able to complet the job. I will definitely use them in the future for my landscaping needs.

We had Andreas some out remove sod from an area in our yard, then dig in new soil and compost so we could plant a flower bed. They also dug out an old tree stump. The workers did a good job, just as we had discussed, came on time and cleaned up well. The problem came a few months later after I had planted perennials in the new bed. Thousands upon thousands of little weeds, which looked to me like marigolds, began coming up. These were specific to the new bed, not in any of our other garden beds so I knew they had to have come from the new soil or compost. I spoke with Amy and she wanted to do whatever it took to make us happy. The same day she sent out two guys to completely pull out all the "weeds" and to spread something so more would not come up.

The wood was aged, of exactly the right size for buring in the stove, and provided a variety of types (oak, ash, etc.). The day the wood was promised, my husband found out Andrea's was closed, so he called to leave a message to remind them to deliver it as soon as they opened again. However, as soon as he got off the phone, the truck pulled up, the wood was unloaded and stacked for us neatly exactly where we wanted it. We were delighted they kept the appointment even on a day they were closed. We've done business with Andrea's before (previous wood deliveries, flowers and plants) and always been very pleased with their professionalism, friendliness, and helpfulness. They encourage us to bring our dog (leashed) when we browse in the summer plant selection. Would highly recommend Andrea's to ANYONE!it
