Agape Painting

Replaced only some of the bad boards, did not replace the ones at top of the chimmy Specifically. We can see this from our upstairs window. Spray painted the interior of the garage, and had overspray all over. The drywall repair was terrible. We ended up hiring another contractor to redo the garage. Professional painters do not spray paint inside of a home, to include the garage, if the home is lived in! On the exterior, they painted all the PVC pipes, AND painted the handles on the garage doors. A professional would never paint the chrome handles on the garage doors! And I doubt that the paint will last on the PVC pipes! Used a cheap flat paint in the half bath to hide the poor drywall repair that he performed, and the ceiling stipple does not even come close to matching the rest of the ceiling. We tried to work with Mr. Smith and he refused to correct any of the issues or refund any of our payment. It is with "great" dissapointment that we see him continue to paint homes in the Grayeagle Subdivision, and I'm sure continues to provide his customers with something much less than a quality paint job. Would be more than happy to show Mr Tony Smiths completed work to anyone that would like to take a few minutes and review our home.

We hired Tony even though he was much more expensive because he was very personable and made us feel comfortable huge mistake!  The wood repair on the outside off our house was shaky at best.  There were several places not fixed at all.  One place they said they would go ahead and fix but we had to write a check immediately for $150.00 when all the wood repair was supposed to be included in the original quote.  When painting outside they forgot to paint the trim around our front door.  When they painted our garage door they actually painted over all our door handles and other hardware.  The bathroom ceiling repair is horrible we could have done better and we have no experience.  They painted out bathroom with flat paint because they said it wouldn't show the bad spots in the drywall.   Please keep in mind we paid them to repair and finish the drywall before painting.   This area was so bad they did credit us for this part of the bill.  They were supposed do finish the drywall in our garage, make any necessary repairs and paint.  It was not supposed to be a fine indoor finish but it wasn't supposed to look worse than when we hired them.  They were to repair a hole in our ceiling when they did this they damaged a water pipe and we had to hire a plumber to fix.  The paint was supposed to be off white and it is yellow no question.  There is overspray everywhere all the metal on our garage door has overspray on it.   The garage was supposed to be rolled not sprayed.  There are large areas with no paint at all.  We were supposed to move everything out of the garage but they got done with the outside work early and moved inside to the garage without us moving everything out of the garage.  They moderately covered what was in the garage and when the plastic was removed there was a fine mist over everything.  We had rakes and shovels in the corner and they actually painted around them.   We emailed Tony all the pictures and he called extremely upset at 10pm demanding final payment.  We are older and we were actually frightened he was screaming and yelling. He actually came banging on the door the same night.   He was very threatening and intimidating.  In hindsight we should have called the police.  I am almost 70 and was extremely surprised by his behavior.  Before you hire Agape please come see what they did to our house.  We also have a ton of pictures we can share. It is much worse then before they started.  We had estimates to repair the horrible work they did and all we wanted was for them to pay to have our house fixed.  Our garage and bathroom are still a horrible mess we have not had the money to have it repaired.  We contacted the BBB hoping they could help us resolve the issue.  All he did was respond saying we were trying to get out of paying.  This is absolutely not true we paid him all we want is for him to pay to have the damage his company caused repaired.  After he was screaming and yelling we were afraid to have him back in our home.  Please ask to see our photos or contact us and  you can see our home before hiring this contractor.  Please don't make the same mistake we did.

I was very happy with their painting. They did a wonderful job. They worked professionally, and they gave me an Angie's List price. He said that he would put his advertizement board in the yard, and he gave me a discount for that as well. His price was the lowest from all bids.

They have been good. They were professional, clean and gave good service.

Great company to work with.  Professional and friendly.  Prices are more reasonable than a lot of painters.  They do a good job of cleaning up before they leave.

The quality of the painting was good, better than I could have done. There are some spots that were missed but overall it was as good as other painters I've used for this house. Tony came recommended by a good friend of my wife and we felt comfortable bringing him into our house. He was professional and kind in communication.
We discussed the time frame for the job and Tony said the whole house would take 2 1/2 - 3 days. He came in with a crew of 5 and they were a bit rushed.
I'm sorry to say I can't recommend Agape Painting to my friends or others. There are some big problems that prevent my writing a positive review. I'll list them below.
1. Splatter - lots of spatter. Tony's crew did lay tarps over furniture when they move it, but did not do a good job. We just purchased new furniture for our daughter's rooms and there was paint on most of the pieces. There was/is additional spatter on the carpet and counters, etc. Two months later we are still finding spots and cleaning if possible. There was also a 2 inch chip out of our nightstand where it was hit.
2. Loose outlet/switch covers. In some areas the outlet covers were removed for painting. Almost all of these were loose and I've had to go throughout the house tightening up and replacing screws where needed.
3. Unexperienced crew. Tony's crew of guys were nice, but it became obvious early on that he was using our house as a training house. He told one of his crew "The downstairs bath is your test, do a good job and you'll graduate". I'm all for training, but it needs to be supervised by a senior if possible.
4. The quality of the paint. While I can attribute the above to the ability of his crew. Tony is the one who selected the paint quality. It looks nice, but cannot be wiped off or cleaned without coming off on the towel. I'm not scrubing the paint, simply squirting with water and wiping with a towel.
After the job was done we brought our concerns to Tony's attention. It took some arguing and a couple of visits to the house, but ultimately Tony gave us $400 back for our troubles. It would have been nice if he just would have made it right.
Finally, I noticed that the rear casters for our 100 year old player piano were missing and the piano now leans at about 10° toward the wall. I tried a couple of times to get in contact with Tony to see why his crew removed them and then (I assume) disposed of them, but he is not returning calls.
So in conclusion He's a great guy who does a good service hiring people in need to paint houses. Unfortunately the final product leaves a lot to be desired.

Tony does a great job from beginning to end. He tells you up front what to expect and follows through. Very professional!

Tony and his crew arrived on time and performed all of the work agreed upon.  The work was done with all of the professionalism that I expect.  The crew was courteous and cleaned up at the end of each day. The work was completed on time and for the price agreed upon in the contract.  I will use this company's services again and would recommend them to others.

They were very thorough with the work. They were very neat and cleaned up after themselves. They were prompt and polite, nice guys. A lot of our neighbors has also used Agape Painting so we knew the pricing and quality of work was good.

Tony, the owner, came out to give estimate and returned to do the job a week later.  He and his two sons did an excellent job of caulking, making minor repairs to drywall and painting.  They arrived on time, worked a full day, were detail oriented and clean.  Tony made sure everything met my expectations before asking to be paid.  Will definitely use them again for future projects.

Very well, on time, on budget and quality work was completed.

The job went great. They were very good at communicating and did what was asked. They were on time and got the job done on time. My son-in-law has given them a job now.

They did a wonderful job! They are a small company. They really work well with the homeowner. He is very nice and considerate on what your needs are. His pricing is also very reasonable. I have recommend them to others.

Tony is terrific. He is extremely knowledgeable. I've used him in three different houses over a period of 10 years, and I wouldn't hesitate to use him again. He is consistently on time and on budget, and his pricing is very competitive. Tony works extremely hard, and he does excellent work. There have been two occassions when something was not quite as perfect as I wanted it to be. On both occassions, Tony was very involved and courteous. He corrected both problems at no charge to me and was very very easy to deal with. Painting is a difficult job in an older home, and it is very difficult to get it "perfect." I think the quality of Tony's work is very very good, and his pricing is always the most reasonable of any of the painters I've used. I highly recommend Agape Painting.

Tony and his team did a great job. They were on-site start to finish and Tony was on-site most of the time working with team of 3 others. The quality of the work is excellent and he was conscientous to follow up to ensure our satisfaction. The team was punctual and professional and had a great attention to detail. Price was very competitive too. I will absolutely use Agape for any future painting

The person I thought was coming and who I contracted the work with did not show. Another person whom I had not met showed up with his 5 year old son, who I basically babysat and fed all day, while his dad painted. I thought this was very unprofessional and while the young man was a nice kid, I have decided not to use their service in the future although they have performed well for me in the past.

The price was right but they needed to be kept after a little bit. It wasn?t the sort of situation where you sit in the house and come out to find everything done. Instead, we kept asking if they remembered to do all of the little things, we had to talk about the contract a little bit, and we felt like we had to keep an eye on them.

Tony was a gentleman as was the entire crew. This is the best and most thorough paint job we have ever had. Very precise edges where required. Two coats. We tend to be very picky, and we could find absolutely nothing requiring attention.

No issues - received written quote, signed contract. provided colors for Agape to match, and job was completed within a matter of days.

I could not ask for anything more. We were a little skeptical because Tony's price was the most competitive. We took our realtors word and could not have been more happy. Tony was always very professional and helpful. What painter calls you just to see if you stopped by the house to see if you are happy with the work. The crew he had were very nice when we would visit the job site. He was there on time the day he was to start the project.

Tony of Agape Painting is a true professional. He came out within a day or two to give an estimate. The estimate was very reasonable (we thought). They began painting the following week. They always begin by powerwashing the exterior, then scraping. After an additional day of drying they begin painting. They were finished painting in two days. The crew were all very friendly, efficient and cleaned up as much as they could afterwards. They are truly amazing! I say this, because when the painting was almost 3/4 done...my husband and I looked at the color and didn't like it. OR, shall I say we were shocked at the difference of looking at a 2 inch swatch of paint, then seeing it on a whole house. We called Tony, he very calmly said that this does happen at times and gave us a VERY reasonable price to change it, if we so wished. He advised that we just take an additional day to get used to it and see if we still felt that way. Good advice, we actually grew to like it very much. All in all...a GREAT experience!

I had some difficult colors to work with. They were amazing. They were professional and conscientious Tony and his group were great! I will use them again.

They were reliable & the price was excellent. They are flexible in terms of scheduling. Overall quality of work was excellent.

THEY POWER WASHED ON ONE DAY, CAULKED ON ANOTHER, AND THEN PAINTED THE ENTIRE HOUSE THE NEXT DAY. TONY SMITH (OWNER) WAS VERY POLITE AND RESPONSIVE TO QUESTIONS AND PHONE CALLS. THEY ALSO PROVIDED THE LABOR FOR SEALING MY WOODEN PRIVACY FENCE (I PROVIDED SEALANT). IT'S BEAUTIFUL! YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH AGAPE!

WE HAD A VERY PLEASANT EXPERIENCE WITH TONY, AND HIS CREW OF FOUR. THE PAINTERS SHOWED UP EVERYDAY AT 8 A.M. FOR 1 1/2 WEEKS, ON TIME. THEY WERE VERY COURTEOUS, WITH NO SMOKING, OR LOUD MUSIC, OR ANY FOWL LANGUAGE. THEY WERE VERY KIND TO MY THREE KIDS. THEY ALWAYS CLEANED UP VERY NICELY AFTER THE DAY WAS FINISHED. HARD WORKERS WITH HARDLY ANY BREAKS!
