I was heading out for work and found our garage door wouldn't open. The spring had broken and the cable had come loose on one side. I called them at 8:30am and they were at our house by 10:30am. They were in and out within 30mins and our door works again! YAY! Price was in the range I was expecting. Cameron and another gentleman did the inspection and repair and were both very nice and professional gentleman. Will definitely use them again for future work.

Called All-Star on basis of satisfactory work many years ago. First call, service guy determined it was the remote, which he replaced and commented that all rollers were in bad shape, making door noisy going up and down. Replaced all, life was good. 2 or 3 months later, one of the rollers went off the track, so door could not be raised. Called All-Star, prompt fix, no additional charge, life is good again!

Thanks again for great work. Door looks great and works outstanding. Also they installed an myQ modem so I can open garage door if I am not present for any service provider. Awesome!!!!

I am extremely happy with them and I would not use anybody else.  My son-in-law bought a part for his garage and when he got the part from them they charged him for what they told him.  The quality of service was the best.

BE AWARE OF THESE JOKERS...
I had used them for several years for my home and rental houses. They always had done a good job until today. The door on one of my rentals quit working so I called All Star to go take a look. They responded quickly which I appreciated.
I got a call from the tech that he was there and would call me when he figured out what was wrong. Literally 3 minutes later he called and said it was all fixed. The only thing wrong was one of the sensor brackets was bent. I was glad it was something simple.
He told me he would take my card number over the phone, but that he was charging me a 4% fee for using the card. He told me the bill would be $92.00!!  I told him to send a bill to my house and that I thought $92.00 for a five minute job was excessive. This is when he came unglued and started yelling at me. He said if I didn't pay he would cut my garage door cables!! I was pretty stunned at this point.
I called my workers at the house and told them to shut the door. They tried to do that but, the tech came running up and stuck his foot under the door and cut the cables. I called the manager at All Star and told him what had just transpired and thinking he would apologize profusely for his employess total lack of simple manners, but my shock and dismay he sided with his tech.
At that point I was done with them. I would have been happy to pay the bill (well not happy, but would have paid it) until he vandalized my property. Not only will they not get paid, but they will lose all future business and referrals. As someone stated earlier their customer service sucks and there are WAY too may other's in this area where one can get this type of work done without being abused.
Use this company at your own peril...

Response from A ALL STAR GARAGE DOOR, LLC
"A service charge of 89$ is standard and the going rate for majority of company’s here in town. Unfortunately even if the problem is a simple repair we still have to charge the service charge or we would simply not be able to stay in business. Residential work is not to be billed COD only. We responded promptly to you’re service request and our technician promptly fixed the issue and invoiced your the minimum service charge 89$ and upon trying to collect you decided that was too much money for what was done and decline paying for the service you requested correct? If our tech damaged you’re property why wasn’t a police report filed? We hope you have better luck with you’re business else where! God bless you."

They did a great job, working quickly and professionally.  I can really tell a difference in the garage temperature with the new doors - warmer in winter; cooler when hot out.  The installer also took time with me to discuss operation and maintenance.  One detail I would like to discuss:  The double garage floor wasn't level due to settling over the years, and the old door had been modified with wood shims at the bottom to make it seal better at the ends.  A All Star listened to me when I asked about the sealing with the new door and discussed options with me, and we ended up using a higher grade seal to better accommodate the end mismatch.  I felt that one of the other companies I talked to was dismissive of my concern and didn't seriously address it.  I am happy to report that the seal is working very well, and I am very glad we went with it.  Overall, I was extremely pleased with their service and will not hesitate to recommend them to others.

During installation a storm came, and some water started coming into the garage. They stopped working. They left the old door across the driveway, and left the tools in shambles. I was ok with them stopping with work during the storm. However, They did not return until the following afternoon. They originally told me that they would have been back first thing in the morning. They asked me to clean up the flood mess, this included bolts from their job. ?What ever you sweep up you can keep,? is what he told me. They finished the job, and left. They came back the next day to pick up a battery charger they had left in the garage; AND to leave a receipt because they never left one originally. Today my landscaper was cleaning up in the garage a little and found a pop-bottle full of urine. That is just disgusting! Before this I would've given them a C rating, but this is terrible.

The work done was fine, but the customer service was just atrocious.
Response from A ALL STAR GARAGE DOOR, LLC
"We are very sorry our services did not meet you’re expectations we do strive to complete every job with 100% customer satisfaction. With 2 of the 4 panels stacked in the opening the storm/rain worsened causing the garage to start flooding more than just a little water our installers took pictures of the work condition they were in and at that time it was decided to be unsafe and to secure opening and pull off job. (Sections had to be clamped down to keep from floating up in tracks) (tools, hardware, top section were covered in water) installers secured all 4 panels in the opening for security and pulled off the job to return the following day to finish. Our tools are always loaded up and never left behind on a job especially one with standing water in the garage. We would of took actions to resolve any issue you may have had promptly and accordingly when you called our office with what you’re claiming was left by an employee of ours until you became irate and cursing at us. In all we are sorry you were not satisfied with our service . I can assure you we greatly appreciate the business we received from you and wish you the best."

I was leaving for work early AM and had to air up a couple of tires first.  I  moved a trash can to get to our air compressor and aired up my tires while getting pelted by hail and heavy rain.
After airing tires, I put back compressor, dried off in the garage, and got in my car to leave. The garage door wouldn't go down initially, and then it came off track, because I forgot to move the trash can out of the path of door....   This caused a couple of the wheel pins and one of the tension cables to come off - rendering our door un-level and unable to close...  I was able to fix the pins, but not the cable.  Being outside of my level of expertise at this point, I needed assistance fast...

Not wanting to leave wife and baby home all day with a wide open garage, I called Royce at A All Star Garage Door, informed him of my dilemma, and he said he'd be right over to fix the door so I could get to work.  I found him on Angie's List under "garage doors" and sorted by miles to home.  I went with him because he was close and answered right away on my first call.
He was there within 15 minutes.  He and an assistant were able to fix the door and make all adjustments so I could get to work quickly.  The repair only took about 10 minutes.

They were truly life-savers and I will call them for any future garage door repair/replacement needs.

Thanks for your help, Royce!

Eric Martin was finishing up his work week on the Friday afternoon when I called.  I explained that we needed an estimate to repair or replace our double door immediately.  He arrived on time, gave me the estimate.  We scheduled the work for the next week.  Everything went great!  This is a fantastic company to work with.  They are not a large corporation, but a small company that cares about what they do!

They did a good job. They were very cooperative. They did everything that I asked them to do. I probably am going to ask them to come back and do maintenance on the door. They responded well and I have no problems with the door. I will use them again in the future.

Our previous garage door spring snapped free and the door partially collapsed.  The folks at All Star helped us diagnose it as a sagging series of joists and a missing header in our garage due to a prior renovation.  We ordered a new garage door w/ trim that matched our home and historic neighborhood and had the header installed and the joists sistered and redistributed storage weight while waiting for it to arrive.  Within two weeks we had our other contractor completed with the support work and All Star installed and tested the new unit. They came out and made minor adjustments to the layout afterward due to some settling/binding and everything has been fine since. When dealing with historic and older homes it is important to have a group that is flexible and willing to work with you on "the unexpected".  All Star did a great job in helping diagnose the cause of our prior door failure and recommending minor changes to the configuration including trim and rail placement to help avoid trouble in the future.

When they came out, they complained they haven?t received very many calls lately through the yellow pages. When they came out they didn't state what they were going to do, just that they were going to get it taken care of. They simply had to tighten the chain, which took around 5 minutes. I watched what they were doing, and it was something I could have done myself. It continues to loosen even after they came out. I priced out the labor for installing a brand new one, and it was only $100.00 and in total only around $250.00 for complete replacement. It just isn't cost effective. They didn't give any suggestions on a more effective way of handling the situation, just handed me a bill. I think that they are pricing themselves out of business. They were relatively quick and prompt in handling my call, but I would not call them back due to the cost. For what they did, they did it well.

On Friday night, the spring broke (loudly!), so my wife's car was stuck in the garage. I called All Star around noon on Saturday, and Jeff and his assistant were here within 2 hours. Unfortunately, my door is an "off brand," so they did not have the needed parts on hand. But they were able to get the car out of the garage for the weekend, and promised to find the parts and return on Monday to finish the job. On Monday (a holiday, plus a day when many people were home because of heavy snow), Jeff returned by himself to finish the job. He replaced the spring, adjusted and lubricated the tracks, and fixed another part that had been installed incorrectly. The opener (installed by a previous homeowner) is very old, but now it runs much smoother and quieter! Jeff was very courteous, polite, and professional. He freely gave advice, but did not pressure or try to "up sell," even though it was obvious I could use a newer opener. But if/when this one breaks, they'll get my business.

It went very well. The estimator was clear and accurate. The installers arrived on time, were efficient and accurate in their work, and cleaned up at the end. The bill was for the amount of the estimate. We have no complaints and can recommend this firm to others without reservation.

I left a voicemail with three garage door repair companies in the evening (around 7 PM), and All Star promptly called me first thing the next morning. I didn't answer the first call, and they called back again later that day. (I did not hear from either of the other two companies until two days later.) The man from All Star with whom I spoke began by apologizing for not being available the previous night and was genuinely concerned about the status of my garage door. I explained that my car was not parked inside the garage, so it was not an emergency, but because the garage door was not operable, I still wanted to repair it as quickly as possible. We set up an appointment for two days later at 9 AM. Two men arrived promptly at 9 AM. I was not there, but my mother was able to let them into the garage. They immediately figured out the problem and had the garage door repaired and working in less than an hour. Citing the age of my garage door, they left some brochures for new garage doors but did not pressure me at all to buy one that day. They simply gave me information about the garage doors they offered for when I felt it was time to replace the garage door in the future. The workers were extremely professional and conscientious, and they worked quickly and efficiently. They completed the job in about an hour and charged me a very reasonable fee of $85.00.
