The owner Eugene, and a helper named Gino/Geno came to my home. They went over the history of the problem and the scenarios for what might be wrong and how they would need to fix it. They quickly diagnosed the problem and let me know how it would have to be fixed. Eugene also explained that he could tell based on the damage, or lack there of, to the flooring, and water marks on the pipes leading into my basement that the problem was fairly.
They replaced a portion of the waste pipe along with the flange (I have plastic waste pipes). They then installed my toilet and checked to make sure everything was functioning correctly. They did also discover a leak in the shut-off and repaired that.
It is now almost four months later and this problem appears to be completely fixed.
