Called and talked to a woman who said an estimater would call me to set up a date for him to come out and look at my yard. Over 3 weeks later someone called back and told me we weren't in their service area. They say on Angie's List their service area is Lake County, which is where I live. If they only service part of Lake County they should state that in their service. Maybe it should read North Lake County instead. After reading such good reviews, I was very disappointed.

Out of 4 estimates Meier was the lowest. Scheduled the job for approximately 4 weeks out. Job was on time. 2 days start to finish. Mr. Meier has followed up 4 times since installation to go over watering schedule and to insure my complete satisfaction. He even stopped a couple of times while I was on the road to move the sprinkler and check for pooling.

I decided to go with another company. It went pretty well overall. They were courteous and professional. The only reason I didn't go with them was because I received a lower bid from someone else.

They are a good service. They removed leaves for me last week. One time, they were mowing my lawn and they chipped one of my pavers but that was corrected immediately. I don?t have any problems with that. Their prices are more economical than some other providers. The price for the snow removal is going to be $43 this year. It is $22.54 for the mowing and I think it?s less than $60 for the leaves. They are careful and professional, and if you do encounter problems, they are quickly resolved. They do have the necessary equipment to do the work. My only issue with them is that they provide services to commercial establishments first and then do individual contracts, and I didn?t know that initially. I would probably use them in the future.

I was not able to get to first base. I called Meier's because they had a good rating in Angie's List but when I requested landscaping for a 4 unit building being constructed in Gary, Indiana, I was promptly told "We do not work out that far." This company is located less than 10 miles from the building site and I believe what was meant was "We do not do work in Gary." I would not have wasted my time if they had been honest and put a red warning flasher on their Angie's info page which indicated they do not do work in this area. I had initially attempted to call another landscaping business listed in Angie's but when the red warning flasher stated "service not available in this area", I did not waste my time even calling them. I would have appreciated the same candor from Meier's. The company has an ad in the Yellow Pages indicating they do industrial, commercial, and residential work. My thought is that Gary, Indiana is an area excluded from being served by their company, not that the distance is too far.

I called the company Tuesday morning for some landscaping to be done. I was told that someone would come and give me an estimate for the work. I waited and no one ever came. I called the company and never talked to anyone, the machine was on.

This was over a year ago so the price we paid them evades me. I do remember that it was very reasonable thought. Their ideas were excellent and the lawn and all the landscaping that they did were perfect. They came when they said they would and the quality of the products they used is still in perfect condition as I write this today. One thing I really liked about their work was that they guaranteed it for a set time after it was planted or used. We had one tree that didn't take correctly for some reason, and all we had to do was call them and they came right out and replaced it, free of charge. I highly recommend them and will use them again.
