+ 0 moreWorking with Sam and Skyline Construction was excellent. We're first-time homebuyers, and have heard horror stories about shoddy contractors doing sub-par work. This was not our experience at all with these guys. They were prompt, professional, and the work was done on time. I have already recommended them to a friend of mine, and we plan on working with them again in the future for some future projects.

Description of Work: My garage soffit and fascia had deteriorated over the winter of 2017. It was so bad squirrels made their way into garage without knocking on the door. I gave James a call and he gave me a Free estimate. I hired his Skyline crew to do the work.

My wife and I wanted our roof replaced, got 5 quotes and Skyline was the most competitive for the work that we wanted and shingles to use. They are a family run business and made sure that their work crew did a quality installation and was very courteous and friendly. The whole process from the initial quotation from James and the assurance that the work was done properly during the project from Jeff (owner) and Jason went really well. I would use them again and recommend them to others too.

Description of Work: In the past two years Skyline has put new roofing on my townhouse in Dyer and my home in St. John. Their cost were fair((very competitive); the work done was excellent- everything in the estimate was done as described. All details were explained clearly. They were punctual and finished each day cleaning or removing debris as needed. I could see they took pride in their work and finished the jobs pleasing me with the finished product. I'd hire them again in a heartbeat.

+ 1 moreJames was prompt and very professional. Provided an estimate onsite and included additional cost that we anticipate in the estimate - rotted fascia board. James also provided a solution to a customized drain system on a flat roof section of our home that was rotted. His cost included closure of underground water spouts which some of the other estimators did not include. The vendor which I selected included a 10% materials discount for military veterans and disclosed some important concerns with regards to lead paint and the age of our house.
Description of Work: Provided an estimate for total gutter replacement of our home and remediation for underground water system.

Description of Work: Repaired rubber garage roof that another contractor did not install correctly. Its hard to trust future work after being let down by shoddy past jobs. Skyline explained all damages done and what would be needed to restore roof to proper function. Their assessment evoked knowledge, professionalism, and a trust that I needed to hire them for this job. Costs were estimated on best and worst case scenarios, so that I would not be shocked with a large bill. The completed job illustrated the skill the prior contractor lacked. Working with Skyline restored my confidence that work can be completed as promised. |

+ 0 moreFrom the beginning with questions and the first handshake, it was excellent. Every interaction we had was pleasant, and James was very knowledgeable. He was quick to follow up when needed. When the work was in progress, they were good at cleaning up and did very well. James did a walk through with us and added extra caulk to an area we were concerned with. The staff was all very professional and nice. There was a follow up phone call a few days later to make sure that everything was still OK. We are planning to have our gutters redone soon, and I can say that we wouldn't even consider using anyone else! I have passed their information on to neighbors and friends.
Description of Work: They completely redid the roof, which included a complete tear off to the old roof. There was some metal work done around the chimney and gutters as well.

Description of Work: I had Skyline Construction do a complete tear-off of garage roof and install new tarpaper and shingles. The work was probably the best anyone could do under extreme circumstances: cold winter day, snow storm warning, limited daylight,etc. The main complaint was the damage to the existing gutters from the tear-off. The weather kept me from examining the gutters right away, but once on the ladder, I could see the gutters were badly punched out in so many places that the gutter screening no longer fit. Skyline Construction did come back after Angieslist contacted them and resolved the complaint. They installed new gutter apron and continuous heavy gauge gutters which were much, much better than the damaged original. There were a few other minor problems, but those were taken care of also to my satisfaction.

+ -1 moreThey were efficient, fast, courteous and cleaned up everything after complete. It was a complete tear off on my house which is a Bi-level (1,040 square foot), 2.5 car garage, and shed. I received 5 different estimates and theirs was the best and would definitely have them out again for other jobs. After my roof I also had them put baffles in my attic for proper ventilation as well as gutter screens on all my gutters, the total cost on that job was only $350.00.
Description of Work: A new roof was placed on my house, 2 car garage and shed, also added a ridge vent to my house for proper ventilation. Their estimate ended up slightly higher than originally estimated only because I chose a better shingle.
