Mike was contacted by us back in April to do a job on the house due to concern for insect damage to a wall. He was very kind explaining everything at first. However, Mike was very slow in completing the work promised. He left the side of the home exposed to the elements while he worked on other people's homes. We gave him the benefit of the doubt as we know contractors tend to do many projects at the same time. We had cement work we wanted completed before we finished our siding. Mike came into our home, tore out a window frame in our kitchen to get a size for a replacement window. He said when it came in he would be back to complete the siding gutters and window install. This happened beginning of August and the window came in and texts and calls were not answered by Mike when we attempted to reach him. When we finally got to talk with him weeks ago he told us he would be out end of that week or beginning of the next week at the latest. By the end of the following week we called and texted him. He responded finally via an email stating he would be out Sept 26. At that point we decided to refuse his services. A text was sent to him in which it was clearly pointed out what he did wrong. Instead of being a proper business man and acknowledging his wrong he stated he did nothing wrong and that oh by the way we owe more for the first job he did. He left a wall unfinished but claims he just stated he would put up drywall not finish it. So now we have a garage with an unmudded portion of a wall and a kitchen window with no frame around it. We also had been promised he would be out after the cement guys completed their job beginning of July so a portion of the old siding is off as well due to us awaiting his completion of the project. So we have three areas that are unfinished and will now have to remain that way until next spring. His workmanship was ok. We had to point out some areas in the siding that needed better put together to prevent water damage with the original work. We highly recommend steering completely clear from him. He has left his original project unfinished and a project that was started in May still was not going to be completed by mid to late September?? Unacceptable!

"This was an unfortunate situation with this member. This job would have been completed long ago if the final invoice for the original job had been paid in full and they had patiently waited until my other projects were completed, before starting their new project. I even suggested that they find a different contractor, due to how busy we were at the time. The many, many text messages I received from this member were very rude and unacceptable. I think that there are times that text messages are good to use, but not when you want to have a professional conversation with someone. Warner Remodeling Solutions is a professional company, works on one job at a time and completes each job with excellent quality and workmanship. I invite you to call and schedule a free estimate for your next home improvement and see what Warner Remodeling can do for you."

The project was contracted to start end of Jan and be completed by April 25th, 2008. By July 4th weekend we still were not able to use our deck, there were no handles on the doors to go in or out onto the deck. There were no major order changes or weather related delays, as a matter of fact we did not have him do a couple of big things due to time issues, if we had him complete the job I can not imagine how much longer it would have taken. We did not have him finish the bottom exterior of the house, no retaining wall and we shortened up the deck considerably. We decided not to put the stairs on the deck because we just wanted the job to be done and thought it would help him if he did not have to do it. Contractor was supposed to be at the property every morning by 8:30 AM, but most mornings it was after 10:30 before he arrived and most days he left by 4pm. When the owner could not come to work neither could the assistant so the job stopped. There was a problem with communication and timeliness. In the end we agreed to disagree, I do not think either party was too happy. This was not a good experience. It was a learning experience. Some of the work is very nice. We are very happy with. He actually put new trim in living room and kitchen, and did not charge us for it. That was nice. I think it is very important to read the contract and ask questions, if your gut tells you that you may not be understanding something then you probably don't! Do not sign unless you understand!
Response from Warner Remodeling Solutions, Inc
"Warner Remodeling works as many hours necessary to complete the project on time and within budget, but when this member made over $6,000.00 in changes, it isn't possible to complete a job on time with that many changes. Warner Remodeling appreciates it when members submit reviews after we complete a project, but only if the submitted comments are accurate. Unfortunately, not all these comments are accurate. Yes, there was week of vacation taken during this project, it was to go to Camp with the Boy Scouts."

The gentleman who came out to give the estimate was thorough and gave me a list of options. It was the dead of winter and they fit me into an already busy schedule. They were the only ones who returned my call in time and understood the timely nature of the problem. My only complaint is that they left some caulking scraps in my yard and on my porch, but other than that, it was great!

Everything was excellent. He did what he said he was going to do. He was reasonably priced. All of the subcontractors were just as outstanding as he was. I hate to give out his name.

MIKE & THE WESTWOOD HOMES TEAM PERFORMED EXCELLENT WORK ... THE QUALITY WAS SECOND TO NONE. THE COMPANY IS VERY BUSY WITH SEVERAL JOBS AT A TIME AND COULD HAVE WORKED MORE DAYS TO COMPLETE MY PROJECT & THEY COULD HAVE COMMUNICATED ON THE PROGRESS BETTER ... ESPECIALLY WITH CHANGE ORDERS & THE ''COSTS'' OF SUCH ITEMS GENERATED BY ME (THE CUSTOMER). OVER ALL SATISFACTION OF THE WORK PERFORMED WAS EXCEPTIONAL!

MIKE WAS VERY PROFESSIONAL. I WAS HAVING DIFFICULTY GETTING MY WINDOWS REPAIRED AND HE CAME OUT WHEN HE SAID AND WAS ABLE TO LOCATE THE PARTS NEEDED AND GET THEM ORDERED. VERY RESPONSIVE. I WAS VERY IMPRESSED.

TRUTH IS I MIGHT USE THIS SERVICE AGAIN. I WOULD ADVISE ALL FUTURE BUYERS TO REVIEW THEIR CONTRACT CAREFULLY AND BE SURE THAT THE CONTRACTOR DOES NOT TRY TO EXCUSE NON PERFORMANCE IF THEIR ''SUBCONTRACTORS'' ARE LATE, OR IF ''LABOR OR MATERIALS'' ARE UNAVAILABLE. BOTH OF THESE THINGS OUGHT TO BE RISKS ASSUMED BY THE CONTRACTOR, NOT THE BUYER. THE CONTRACTOR OUGHT TO BE VERY SURE THAT HIS/HER LABOR AND MATERIAL WILL BE AVAILABLE BEFORE AGREEING TO A PROJECT END DATE. WESTWOOD WAS SEVERAL DAYS LATE COMPLETING THE PROJECT. AS A RESULT, THE FINAL TOUCH UP STUFF WAS BEING DONE WHILE MOVERS (WITH ALL OUR STUFF) WERE WALKING THROUGH OUR NEW HOME. MOVERS PUT FLOOR PROTECTION DOWN SO THERE WAS NO WAY THE WESTWOOD COULD REMOVE ALL OF THE DRIPPED PAINT FROM THE FLOOR. IF THEY HAD COMPLETED THE PROJECT WITHIN THE TIME FRAME THAT WAS PROMISED THIS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN AN ISSUE. ALSO ON ONE SAT MORNING, MIKE HAD PROMISED TO ARRIVE AROUND 8:30AM, BUT DID NOT SHOW UNTIL 11:00ISH WITH NO APOLOGY.
