We carry a full line of instruments, bows, gifts, player accessories, instrument maintenance & care products, and sheet music. We specialize in the sale, consignment, repair, restoration, and appraisal of Violins, Violas, Cellos, Basses and Bows. We also do custom builds and have our very own professional line of Master Luthier and Shop-made Violins, Violas and Cellos. We believe in growing with our customers, whether young or old. We offer an excellent and extremely competitive Instrument Lease-to-Own Program, as well as great Trial & Layaway Programs and Trade-In Discounts. We have Central Indiana's best deal in String Instrument Rental, Purchase AND Trade-In. At Violins 4U, the customer always come first, and we pride ourselves in spending every effort to make sure our clientele are happy each and every time they leave us. We are here to help and enable student, amateur, and professional musicians achieve their musical goals. We also have a Contact List of Qualified Teachers available for potential Students, and we offer Studio Space for potential teachers who meet industry quality standards. All of our studios are equipped with a tuned piano or a digital keyboard (good for smaller hands), a music stand, seating, good lighting & a power supply, bathroom access, and at least one door for privacy. After-hours access is available. We maintain strong ties with professional players to be able to enrich events in need of Live String Music. We are able to bring musicians closer access to the community and the community closer access to music. "The customer did rent from our shop from 12/9/2010 through 12/9/2012 with no known problems. While the complaint suggests the problems occurred with our business on 12/9/2011, we were unaware of any issue until after her rental was due for return or purchase on 12/9/12. It is no longer our active policy to make reminder calls when rentals are overdue for return or purchase. However we still attempt to do so immediately following a customer's first one week grace period of late rental payment or return, prior to charging the customer's preferred payment method. Initial contact was made to the customer within the first seven days of her late rental grace period. The customer made arrangements to be in to Violins 4U to make a purchase on 12/29/12. We did not charge her the additional rental for this extra time she had the instrument nor for any time after. We understand the customer's concerns and realize this whole ordeal has been very inconvenient for her. We do want to note that efforts were taken to remain in contact prior to and after this complaint was filed. There were several unanswered telephone messages and emails made to the customer. We left unreturned phone messages for the customer attempting to notify her of future open hours or delays as well as apologies that we missed her. We also tried to inform the customer that there were other, more convenient payment methods or return options available for rental/purchase/return of her instrument that did not involve travel to either of our store locations. We emailed her in response to emails she made to our Carmel location, which are not generally seen by our Violins 4U staff. We made an attempt to inform her of the extraneous circumstances regarding our store's past open hours, as problems occured due to a staff shortage. The customer made final arrangements to return the instrument during the week of 1/15/13 to our Carmel location. It is our policy to allow the transfer of up to one year of paid rental to apply as credit towards the purchase of an instrument, and for this credit to be applicable for up to a year after the final rental date. In this case, while we are unable to offer a refund for used services, we are happy to make both years of rental credit ($367.20) available towards purchase of an instrument. We will also extend our year offer to cover two years, so rather than expiring on 12/9/2013, this offer will not expire until 12/9/2014. We hope that this, along with our sincere apologies towards the customer and her hardship, will satisfy her grievances."
