It was hard work, but it gave him valuable hands-on experience in most of the trades such as framing, insulation, drywall, roofing and interior trim. It’s a little different today. Brian now sees his role as that of an organizer, delegating roles and responsibilities to the right people. He explains, “I don’t build homes, I supervise the building process. Because trades today are so specialized, one of the most important keys to running a successful home building business is having a good team of conscientious subcontractors. Mine are second to none. Brian met with us many times to draw up and go over plans for our new home. He listened to what we loved and drew up plans accordingly. He installed extra fire escape equipment and alarms, because he knew our concerns about fire. He would give his ideas and concerns based on our needs. Not only have we got a good builder but a good friend out of this. You keep a list for them and they will come out one month, six months, and one year after build to do any repairs that you have. His word is gold. He does what he says he will do when he says he will do it. They are amazing. Brian really works with you to make sure the entire experience is great.

I have been using them for the past five years.  They stood up against the insurance company who wanted to short me on things.  The workmen did the job very well. They have taken care of me very well.  I would use them again in the future.

That came right away. They gave me an estimate and they did the work. They had it done in a week. There were ten 10 inches of cement that they had to tear up. They cut one of the utility lines and they took care it. The project manager was out at leas once a day. It is a beautiful patio. We love it. My son was looking for a foreclosure house. Steve the PM went with us to look at and give us estimates to see how much we would have to do in order to make it liveable.

They gave us a written estimate and did the job when they said they were going to do it and they finished the job early. The workers were wonderful, polite and did not swear or throw cigarette butts in the yard. They were under constant supervision.

The insurance company will be paying for all or most it. We have known the company from other sources and he and his company have looked out for our interests. My experience is going very well. I would recommend people to call Van Deman Builders to use there services.
