Stewart Dixon and his team did a great job remodeling a 20 year old in ground cement (gunite) swimming pool. Stewart and his team were good to work with and charged a fair price.

We had Stewart come out in the spring to get a quote for new pool tile and though we didn't hire him for the pool tile (yet) the experience was so pleasant we were happy to work with him to get our new winter cover installed and for our pool closing. I've found working with Stewart to be very professional, informative & detailed. It's very clear he has been in the industry for years and knows what he's talking about. We're 1st time inground pool owners and he was willing to take the time to educate us on our equipment and to give his suggestions on what we needed to do to improve the longevity of our pool. It's been a pleasure working with him and will continue to use him for all of our pool needs. I highly recommend.

Mr Dixon removed old pool heater and installed a new heater with new connections and I also had him replace some old return valves as well. He helped us understand what we were getting, installed it as well as how to use it. Very professional yet personable and very fair pricing. Good work. Highly recommended.

We've used Stewart and his team for several years now to service/repair our swimming pool and spa. Their professionalism, responsiveness, and quality are top notch. Excellent! Stewart Aquatic Services went the extra mile to come out & diagnose the problem the next day ordered the replacement part immediately & recommended the use of Measures to prevent freeze up of the hot tub plumbing. The replacement part arrived and was installed within a week. This resolved the problem in a very timely manner. The recommended freeze up preventative measures were successful in preventing freeze up while awaiting repair. -very professional service & a real pleasure to deal with-very trustworthy, knowledgeable & reliable.

Beware of deceptive pricing. I paid more than I have ever paid to have my pool closed. They advertise a deceptively low price for the pool closing and then charge exorbitant amounts for chemicals and what they called a "water feature". When I questioned the price, he sent me a new, HIGHER bill and said they had made a mistake on the first one.

We would of been more than happy to of quoted the pool closing line by line if you would of requested it. Looking at our records we had opened your pool several years ago and you had experienced freeze damage from the low priced service provider you had previously used to close the pool and where very happy with the pricing and service we provided. Your pool has additional equipment to run an in-pool, spa jet system ( water feature) which does require additional time and materials. It's unfortunate that you based your review and accusations of deceitful business practices without first discussing any problems with us. We have been using the same brochure for 4 years and are proud of our high level of integrity and would of been willing to work with you to resolve any misunderstanding ."

Sadly, Stewart and his crew left a mess around our pool equipment with mulch all over our equipment pad and chlorine tablets lying on the ground. This followed a much worse mess of 1 inch of mulch covering our equipment pad and old pool filter Zeobite "sand" that they put in the storm sewer when they opened the pool in Spring 2016. Additionally, Stewart's crew added chemicals to our pool without first asking us and without our approval. We were very clear in advance that we only needed a mechanical closing and would add the winterizing chemicals ourselves. Upon challenging Stewart about the added chemicals, he cited last spring when the pool was cloudy as his faulty logic for adding his own chemicals -- in addition to ours -- this fall. Stewart proposed that we still pay for his chemicals if the pool is clear in Spring 2017. His logic was that his -- and only his -- added chemicals -- and not the winterizing chemicals that we had already added -- would be responsible for a clear pool in Spring 2017. Huh?! Stewart became beligerent in his communications claiming that we should support local companies and their employees -- which we had already done for the last 4 years -- regardless of his team's ineptness, sloppiness, services and environmentally unfriendly practices that we had not ordered. His nasty communications were the final straw, and we will NOT be using Stewart Dixon Aquatic Services EVER AGAIN. Additionally, I will be sharing this same story with our homeowners association so our neighbors will not suffer similar poor service. There are many other local pool service companies with good pricing and far better customer service that we plan to use in the future. I encourage the reader to do the same.

It's unfortunate that you left the chlorine tablets in the chlorinator during the mechanical pool closing (Do it yourself option). Our team removed them to prevent heater damage that could have cost you thousands of dollars, and we are sorry we left some wood mulch on the equipment pad. If you recall in the spring I personally met with you and I had recommended, as a former manufacturers territory service manager for one of the largest equipment manufacturers in the world, that a crushed stone or pea gravel mixture is better than wood mulch to prevent water and moisture from accumulating around the pump, plumbing and heater and thus damaging it. I also recommended trimming the bushes around the equipment to allow more room so our service technicians could have clear access to the equipment. The quote for the sand change didn't include hauling the Zeo brite away as you have mentioned, and our crew was simply rinsing the shop vac off in the drain. I'm offended by your claim that I was belligerent. I was simply trying to prove to you that last season you used those same discount chemicals you purchased online and your pool was GREEN when we opened it up this spring. We added our chemicals this fall, and only requested that if the pool was clear in the spring and we have proven that a higher quality product worked, you would pay us for those chemicals at that time. Our communication with you has always been prompt, I have even answered your calls and messages after normal business hours and have gone out of our way to match your lower pricing that you get. We have even supplied you with part numbers so you could buy items online for some of your repairs. As with small business we regret that we get difficult customers that we just can't please. I apologize again and wish you all the best in the future."

Our pool lost all of the water over the winter in 2014. We contacted numerous pool companies to help us diagnose the problems and repair the cracks in the plaster bottom and fiberglass sides. Most were not optimistic about the job and several recommended tearing out the pool and replacing it. Estimates ranged up to $72,000. We contacted Stewart Dixon based on positive reports on Angie's List and he responded quickly. He was able to do the plaster work and found another contractor to repair the fiberglass. Stewart was very good about keeping in touch with us during the repair and has followed up with us to make sure that everything is working correctly. Our refurbished pool looks great and we anticipate being able to use it for several more years. Because of his excellent service we are now using Stewart Dixon Aquatic Services for opening and closing our pool.
