Horrible experience! I thought it was just terrible communication but $109k into the project and they ghosted all their customers early/mid September 2025. So much work to be done and many supplies not provided, including the cover. DO NOT hire Justin Carter to do your pool!

I hired Justin Carter & Smarter pools on 6/14 & paid a $5,000 deposit. Justin said they had a pool in stock someone had decided against so they could have it installed in about 6 weeks since we wouldn't have to order. I understand things happen, so I wasn?t holding them to that specific date. The contract said payment of $46,000 was due when the pool was ordered. Since he said he had the pool in stock, he asked for that payment on 6/20. I wrote a check & he cashed it the next day. No work was done from 6/21-8/13. He was very slow to respond to our questions during that time. They dug the pool and filled with water 8/15. He said a payment of $24,513 was due when water was filled. I wrote a check & he cashed same day. It's been 5 weeks since he cashed that check. I have paid him $75,513 and I have a pool filled with algae and scum, incomplete plumbing, no coping, no concrete, no equipment and no timeline for completion from him.

Avoid at all costs!!! Do your homework and google the company, notice all their reviews are the same few people. Also google the company and the word ?lawsuit?. They will not stand behind their work because they cannot afford to financially. We waited 12 weeks from giving our pool order money before pool was delivered. All the while being told it was a vendor delay. But actually the owner Justin did not order the pool for 6 weeks. Then I paid Justin for concrete and then a few months later the concrete guys asks me when I am going to pay for the concrete. The owner is telling him he is waiting on us to pay which was a lie. Make sure you ask for a Certificate of Insurance, no matter who you use. Decided to walk away and leave us with an unfinished yard and a pool that needs $10,000 in repair to fix the void under our sundeck.

There are not enough good things I can possibly say about Smarter Pools. Working with Justin was a n absolute pleasure from our first consultation until we were swimming in our very own backyard. Incredibly professional, polite, and kind staff. Impeccable craftsmanship. Justin gave us a timeline of 6 weeks and they got it done even with some rain and parts delays. I cannot sing their praises loud enough and I absolutely recommend Smarter Pools to anyone who is thinking about putting a pool in.

Professional builder who makes sure everything was done right. Would recommend this company to anyone looking to install an in-ground pool.

I would recommend to anyone looking to have a inground pool installed. Great communication, easy to work with, very trustworthy, and the pool is amazing!
