The first 90 days went well. The majority of the work was done. It was after they gained my trust that they stopped performing the work; they just kept lying to me over a period of 90 days that the work was being completed. When I showed up from California to review the work it was then that they did not show up to our scheduled meeting to review all the projects that I realized I had been conned. Thereafter I hired a professional Inspection company to review all the repairs and the rehabs of various properties to confirm what was done based on our agreed contracted list of items; 99% was not completed. Presently I am suing them for all of the damages we have incurred for civil and then I will go after them for criminal prosecution. My advice to anyone who is considering doing business with Jason or Shawnna Engle is to run the opposite direction. They present themselves as a husband and wife team, he is the supposed General Contractor, and she is the supposed Property Manager. Neither, I now know they have no licenses. Addendum: We won a judgement for $579,000. They never showed to any of the court hearings except for the last one. A trial is scheduled for March 2010 and they were told that if they did not show up a warrant for their arrest would be issued and they would be picked up. On the only occasion that they did show up to court they committed perjury and were caught in five different lies. Their excuses were that they were broke and unemployed. On 12/29/09 I received an email from an Angie's List member stating he wished he would have read my report because he had a similar situation. He will also be testifying in the March 2010 hearing.
