Joann Fabric is NOT ADA compliant. Trying to maneuver a motorized scooter in this store is a nightmare. There are so many displays in the aisles and endcaps I could not move through the store without gouging a large, long scratch in the side of my one-year-old, very expensive scooter. (I have been using mobility scooters for over 20 years and have been complimented hundreds of times on how well I move about in confined spaces.) When I showed it to the manager she turned into a broken record, repeating again that they are ADA compliant, that the aisles are three feet wide, and they are checked regularly for compliance. The aisles may be three feet wide, however, they put so much stuff in the aisles and endcaps so that is not actually compliant. I had to maneuver past a tall rolling staircase at least three feet wide itself. There were empty shopping carts in the aisles with no shopper that could have been using it in sight. There are displays, such as chests of drawers and bins, on the ends of the aisles making it impossible at times to go to the next aisle. With shoppers behind me, there was no way to back out. There is merchandise sticking out of the display racks well into the three feet minimum. The manager told me their only mobility scooter is in the shop. She did not say how many years it may have been there. This store is VERY UNWELCOME to handicapped individuals that require mobility scooters. The manager made no offer to repair the gouge in my nearly-new scooter.

The overall cost was very reasonable, and they accept competitor coupons if they don't happen to be having a sale. They took care of my artwork and it came back in perfect shape and in less time than they quoted. The staff was friendly and helpful.
