JC PENNEY

I filled out a credit card so I got extra percent off and they had a sale. I'd definitely use them again. They really took their time. I called somebody local, I was going to have them come out. They were really really good. At first I was kind of skeptical, like oh my gosh, what if they go out of business and I gave them a chunk of money, but they were excellent, really really good. The lady that comes out, she's a local person and she was really good to deal with. The workers I came in contact with were pleasant.

We purchased two sets of Simmons mattresses the end of December (went to the show room and placed the order). We were scheduled to have one of the sets delivered on January 16th. We waited for someone to call that day to give us the two hour window for delivery. By 1:00 p.m. we called them just to find out our order had been cancelled. JC Penney's is no longer dealing with Simmons. We waited for a delivery that never happened. The bad part is JC Penney's had two weeks before the delivery to call and tell us the problem, but nobody ever called. When I finally spoke with a sales rep (after speaking with management) they offered to give us a $100 discount on another set, but they no longer carry the name brand we wanted. Not much of a consulation if someone took one day off of work to wait on a scheduled delivery that did not take place. The manager even agreed the communication was very poor. We were told the order had somehow been dropped between Penney's and the manufacturer. They did not receive the order. However, we made a change to one of the sets and our sales rep had to cancel out that particular order and make a new order. In doing that, she had to call the manufacturer to make the neccesary changes. So someone had to know the order had been placed. I would caution anyone purchasing furniture from the Greenwood Penney's Home Store to make sure you follow up before your order is due for delivery. You may be surprised on delivery day when you receive nothing.

The process from purchase to pickup was great. First of all, JC Penny had some of the best prices on and highest ratings for nursery furniture. A similar nursery set at another baby store would have cost us about $1500! My wife and I have also heard horror stories about waiting months for baby furniture at other stored to get in. But, JC Penny got our furniture in a week after we ordered it! We also saved about $200 in shipping by being able to pick everything up at the store. When I went a picked it up, the women who helped me were cheerful and courteous. I couldn't have asked for a better buying experience!

It went very well. One item was not in stock and we were given an available date. Got a call about a week earlier than expected that the item is available and the customer service person was very cordial and explained how the delivery, etc., would be set up. An overall good experience.

They were very professional and knowledgeable. They weren't pushy at all. We got a beautiful table and chairs at a reasonable price.
