On May 15, 2020, I contracted JBH Concrete to stamp our front porch and sidewalk with decorative concrete. Jonathan House, the owner of JBH Concrete, assured me the job would take 4-5 days; JBH actually took more than 6-weeks on the job and left us with a terrible eyesore. After numerous complaints, on September 8, 2020, Mr. House sent me an email stating JBH would complete the job. On September 14, 2020, a lone JBH employee showed to sand and patch our porch/sidewalk, nothing has happened since that date and our porch/sidewalk looks worse than when Mr. House claimed the job was completed on July 2, 2020. On September 17, 2020, Mr. House sent me the following text: "How about this if your project is not completed within 1 week from today I will refund your money. thats the best I can do." On the same day, Mr. House sent me a text stating, "I am sorry for not responding yesterday. I will not be showing up myself but will have someone from my company there to work today. Two of my employees and myself were exposed to someone who had Covid-19. We are quarantined for 14 days. I do not feel bad nor do I think I have it, but we were told to quarantine." Mr. House sent me an email on September 5, 2020, stating the following: "Mr. Qualls I will be tested again today for Covid-19. Assuming things are all well which I am confident they are I will be back at work by Wednesday or Thursday. I would like to complete your project as we had planned prior to my health issues. However your response to my project manager shown no interest of that. This pandemic has been brutal to my business to the point we will not be able to recover. I would like to complete your project before we shut down for good. I know you said you were going to let your attorney handle this, but we will be filing bankruptcy and I do not want our dealings to end this way. Please let me know your thoughts so I can make plans to finish up your job." Thanks Jon I have heard nothing from Mr. House since in spite of my sending emails and text messages.
