Know thy market! I have worked with the Hoagland Group both as a buyer and seller; receiving exceptional service on both sides of the real estate transaction. Seller Experience 1) Hoagland's provided cost-conscious guidance on where my budget dollars should be spent prior to selling my home - ditch the high-end countertops and locks on an entry level home; put $ towards the outdated fixtures - lights, knobs etc. that likely saved me thousands. 2) Absolutely outstanding market analysis. I would say that this is their greatest strength. They know the market! It helped me identify how I could be competitive in the market, how much I could spend on repairs, and what the list price should be. Their recommended list price made me uncomfortable - being 10K more than I expected. I worried about being the highest priced in the market. But they explained that my property was the only one for sale in the area and was move in ready. I took their advice and actually sold the house for 10K BEYOND the list price. 3) Response time was always within 24 hours Buyer Experience I was considering a lovely little fixer-upper that was slightly above my budget. They helped advise on ways that I could make the overall offer more attractive, even though it was slightly lower than the asking price. The offer was accepted the same day.

I cannot speak highly enough of my experience with Merissa Houston. She helped me sell my home and buy a new one and she was outstanding! Working with Steve and Tonda to find a home that would fit our family was a great experience. We described what we were looking for and the area we wanted to live. Tonda and Steve provided top-notch service. Their advice - from pricing our home correctly, staging and updates to enhance the appeal of our house, was most helpful. They always responded promptly with any questions or concerns we had. Also, the software tool they used - for logging all of the showings of our house, and being able to review the feedback from potential buyers, was excellent and very easy to use. Where do we begin? Was it the personal handing off of an information packet to our front door (and that is all he came to do initially) by Steve within hours of us requesting more information about their services? Was it the absolute no pressure to sign with them? Was it the incredible promptness of all the returned text messages, phone calls, and emails? Was it the accuracy of their whole team doing what they said they would when they said they would do it every single time? Was it the extreme professionalism, yet friendly attitude they had during the entire home selling process? Was it the extreme attention to detail that was unwavering, such as the free pie at Thanksgiving? Was it that their entire office support team that was in lock-step with us each time we contacted them? Was it the overall peace of mind knowing that we did not have to sweat the small details and that their guidance was right on the money with every suggestion they had? I could go on and on, but the bottom line is, if you are selling a home in the Indy metro area, particularly the south side, you would be doing yourself an incredible dis-service by not at least meeting with the Hoagland group!

It was fine. Since I was buying and selling a home, it didn't cost me anything. It was just a commission off the house. They are pretty standard compared to other real estate. There were certain things that I thought a Realtor should do better I guess.

"As you can see from other reviews, our goal is to be anything but “standard”! How disappointing! This was a very complex and challenging sale from the fence encroaching on another property to the buyer’s financing which threatened to fall apart right before closing. While always striving to keep our clients’ stress to a minimum, sometimes they may not realize everything we are doing on their behalf – like a duck gliding peacefully through the water while their feet are paddling like crazy! Throughout the sale our goal was to keep this deal together for you, our seller. The buyer’s lender would not return calls, and their agent had given up. Our team decided not to take “no” for an answer and camped out in the lobby of the bank until we could talk to the loan officer. We worked the issue up to a regional manager who eventually approved the buyer’s loan, enabling you to complete the sale and move to your beautiful new home. We hope you are enjoying the new place and that it’s a perfect fit for your family!"

Our experience with the Hoagland Group was superb. Their attention to customer service is unrivaled. I have dealt with many realtors over the years and have never seen the level of commitment and professionalism displayed by these folks. They made the whole experience as easy as possible. They used their many years of experience in marketing to connect us to the right buyers. The negotiations for the price were handled extremely well and the closing went very smoothly. I would suggest you at least give them a call and share your needs before you call another realtor. I'm sure you won't be disappointed.

Instead of just telling us the buyer was having second thoughts and asking us to move on, they continued to negotiate with the buyer and their agent to come up with terms acceptable to all parties. I don't think we could have found this commitment out of most other realtors. I believe many of them would have thrown their hands up in frustration and gone back to looking for easy deal. Not the Hoagland Group. We used them for our first flip also. We were extremely happy with that outcome, again thanks to their hard work and perseverance. I would recommend anyone looking for a realtor, contact them first and have a discussion about their needs. Their whole focus is to put people in a better position. We will definitely work with them in the future.
