We were very pleased with the final results. Along the way there were a few minor issues during the process, however ErnieForster, our contact at Distinctive Kitchen and Bath, went out of his way to make sure the needed corrections were made to make things right. His input and suggestions were very helpful.

Great job, recommend this company and will use again. I replaced an existing electric range top with an induction. The cutout had to be enlarged by fractions of an inch. He and his coworker arrived on time, measured and cut. They took every precaution to keep dust contained and cleaned up afterwards. They were efficient and quick and cutout was perfect size and centered afterwards. They even reinstalled bit of crown molding that had fallen off which was not part of the job but done as a courtesy. The price quoted was slightly higher than was actually charged. This company actually provided accurate numbers and reduced when costs turned out to be less! Also, must mention that I called two other places to get estimate. Neither was professional enough to return my call as was promised, much less decline the work. Owner Chris communicated well and always returned my calls. I believe in baby steps. If a company will not do a small job so I can evaluate their work, no way they're gonna get my business for the big ones. Distinctive is now my preferred contractor.

We originally planned to use a well-known home improvement chain to do our remodel. We spent considerable time working with them but what they wanted and what we wanted were completely out of sink. They wanted to use a cabinet company different than our preference, they did not carry Cambria which we wanted, they wanted us to go with diiferent color appliances than we wanted,
they didn't carry the flooring type that we wanted, they couldn't get the type of light fixtures that we wanted. We felt like we needed to
settle for what they had available or what they pushed for as their preferred product. We had waited 40 years to finally get our dream kitchen and were getting very frustrated because they tried to talk us out of everything that we wanted. We decided to stop in the
Distinctive showroom just to look around. From the first visit, we saw the perfect cabinets on display and talked to Allison as to what they had to offer. Distinctive was exactly what we were looking for. They had everything available that we wanted including custom made cabinets (better made than the other store), Cambria countertops, and an excellent selection of lighting options. Everything that we wanted fell right into place and Allison was so supportive and easy to work with. All of the contractors from demolition to finish were excellent. Our new custom cabinets are beautiful and very well-made and less expensive than the lesser quality from the other company would have been. We could not have had a better experience than we did with that project and we do now have the "kitchen of our dreams".         

Ernie Forster, our adviser from Distinctive, was with us all the way.  He was very responsive to all our phone inquiries prior to our signing the contract and was there the morning of installation before the group of workers arrived.  He introduced them all to us and walked them to each area where there was work to be done.  The crew disconnected the existing plumbing in the three rooms and removed the existing counter-tops.  They cleaned up the areas afterward.
The Cambria installation crew arrived within a half-hour.  They installed the new counter-tops with the new undermount sinks, and drilled the holes for the faucets.  Because of a window directly above the sink and the difference in thickness of the old and new counter-tops, it was decided earlier that the back-splash for the kitchen would be cut after the counter-top was in place.  The two bath vanity counter-tops were correctly installed and were beautiful, as was the planning desk.
Before the crew left, however, we mentioned that the one seam (in a corner) on the kitchen counter was not aligned as well as it should have been.   We looked at it further after they left, and thought that the seam should have been less noticeable, also.  Ernie returned to check on the progress shortly after this crew left, and he agreed with us that they needed to make it right.  He called Cambria and set up an appointment for someone to come out and look at it.
The crew from Distinctive came back that afternoon and connected all the plumbing to the sinks and faucets.  The seam problem on the kitchen counter-top would not affect the kitchen sink plumbing, but would affect the back-splash installation.  There was a problem, however, in re-connecting the plumbing in one of the bathrooms.  Because of a slight difference in the two bath counters, there wasn't enough space to allow proper connection to the drain.  Ernie and his plumber worked until 6:00 that evening on a solution.  They came back the next day with the supplies they needed; and when they finished, you could not tell that there had been a problem.
A Cambria representative agreed that the counter-top needed to be separated and re-aligned and made arrangements with us to do so.  The counter-top was reset and the back-splash installed, resulting in a beautiful counter-top.  Ernie did a masterful job with the caulk, and Distinctive's carpenter did an equally good job on the molding for the planning desk.
We were very pleased with the end result and the attention given to our project by Ernie Forster from Distinctive Kitchen & Bath.  All the personnel in Distinctive have been most helpful in every step of our journey.

We love our beautiful new kitchen complete with soft close drawers, pull outs in all lower cabinets, under cabinet lighting, dividers in drawers. Quality is excellent. Ernie worked with us to get the design exactly the way we wanted. He managed all subcontractors efficiently and professionally.

The total project took four weeks, which is exactly what Ernie had told us.  Ernie did refer us to a subcontractor since our kitchen was totally gutted out, bulk heads and beams remove.  The subcontractor and Ernie worked great together, there was never a delay or issue during the entire project.  Cabinets and granite were on schedule and installed per the original schedule.  We are absolutley in love with our kitchen - it looks like something out of a magazine! 
We will use this company again when we remodel out bathrooms!!

The full bath was gutted on May 27 and everything was done by June 27, including my punch list follow ups. There was an intense week where a lot of subs were coming in & out of the house working on various pieces. Distinctive keep me informed at every step and accomodated my work schedule at every turn. My project manager, Allison, was great and very professional.
On Friday of the "intense week", I was told the vanity tops, sinks and plumbing would all be done in both the full and half baths. I was still waiting for the vanity guys to show up, when the plumber comes knocking on the door-- not the sequence of events that needed to happen. I called Allison, and she tracked the vanity guys down and smoothed things over with the plumber-- he did what he could and then waited until the vanity guys finished.
I had remodeled my master bath with Distinctive a couple years ago (new vanities, sinks, new shower). I had the same cultured marble installers as last time, a very hard-working and friendly couple. The thing that could have gone better was with the vanity guys. I didn't feel they were as diligent as before, and I have some caulking/gap filling that I've decided to take care of on my own. The quartz vanity product is great-- my installers, not so great this time around.
Additional kudos to the tile installers for talking me through ideas on how to do a great looking transition strip between the new tile and the existing hall carpeting.
Overall, I would recommend Distinctive, but watch the quality of the installers you get if you go with a quartz product.

The owner Chris was a joy to work with. Loved his sense of humor. His regular crew is wonderful. They know their craft well. Chris had a couple of sub contractors that he had to use due to illness with his regular guy. I didnt care for this sub contractor He made mistakes and was ok with it. Chris made it right. I don't think he will be using that sub contrator again. MY bathroom is beautiful. Called Chris about a month ago, approximatly six monhs after bathroom installation. Told him I was having a problem with the grout cracking. No problem, Chris came back with his tile crew and fixed the problem. I highly recommend this company. They were not the cheapest but they were not the highest. I payed for quality work and I got it. The only complaint I would have is sometimes when I was told workers were coming to work no one would show up and there was a confusion on who was suppose to call and tell they weren't coming. That didn't happen much but the couple of times it did was a couple of times to much. Even with that they were still worth hiring. Ask for Chris, he is easy to work with and very knowledgeable about his craft. You won't be sorry.

Gary is great to work with.  He stays on top of how the job is progressing and catches any detail they may overlook.  He is very professional and responsive.  He scheduled the various trades in and out in order to get the job done as quickly and efficiently as possible.  The cabinets are very high quality and beautiful!  We would recommend them to anyone.

The entire process with the sales team and installers was positive. The quality of the built-ins are excellent. I would recommend them highly.

From my first contact with Distinctive Kitchens and Bath to the last, it was a very good experience.  This was my first remodel and thanks to Distinctive Kitchens and Baths I won't hesitate to do it again.  At my first contact with Gary, he was  friendly and professional and immediately put me at ease.  He understood what I wanted and we came up with a perfect answer.  At all times from the tearing out of cabinets to replacing them, the men were punctual, professional, considerate and never left me with a mess to clean up.  I now have a kitchen I'm proud to show my friends and  enjoy cooking in.

Ernie Forster is simply fantastic to work with.  He listened carefully to us and produced excellent CAD drawings with multiple configuration possibilities.  Once we finalized our design, floorings, fixtures, etc...we ended up putting ourselves on a tight timeline to be finished before we had out of town company in.  Every craftsman who worked on the project was professional, on time and great to work with.  Throughout the project, Ernie's communication was excellent, very detailed updates and what's coming next.  Ernie also went above and beyond to be sure the work was done on schedule and the house was professionally cleaned and ready for our company. The custom Cherry cabinets are wonderful and superb craftsmanship, with several pullouts that make things convenient.  Thew new shower and tub in the master are even more enjoyable than we imagined.  Now that we know the quality of their work and customer service, we have already recommended them to many of our friends and family.  Just a wonderful experience.

Ernie was awesome.  He started with a draft of what we wanted.  We went from there and designed exactly what I wanted including an odd piece that is now my husband's favorite.  I wanted a cabinet with baskets that pulled out, and a large drawer at the bottom.  I asked for a large bread and chip drawer made in the island.  We asked for two different types of finishes on cabinets, and a custom butcher-block top for our island.  We also asked for quartz countertops on the rest of the cabinets.
Ernie was very patient and never seemed to get bothered - even when I would call and ask dimensions for me to purchase a vent and sink.  He always responded and let me know what was going on during the whole process.  A couple little glitches were fixed without any hesitation.
The cabinets were expertly made and look fantastic.  Our island is almost 10 feet long and was a special request to be alternating light and darker colored hickory wood.  The quality and workmanship is very evident.
We couldn't be happier!  This is my dream kitchen come to life - with the help of Distinctive Kitchens and Bath - and Ernie.  Ernie went above and beyond,  You would have thought he was building his own kitchen!  No detail was left unattended to.
Will definitely recommend this company, and will look to them for my next project.

It went very well.  It took longer than we had planned but the delays were mostly due to our personal family issues.  We were very comfortable and pleases with all the workers who came into our home.  They were polite, courteous and did a great job cleaning up each day. We are very pleased with the end results.  We would definitely use him again!

THE OWNER CAME OUT TO MY HOUSE LAST WEEK TO REVIEW THESE PROBLEMS AND THEN DID NOTHING.  I SENT A COUPLE OF TEXT MESSAGES ASKING TO REVIEW THESE MISTAKES AND HE SENT A COUPLE OF EMAILS TO MY CONTRACTOR, NOT TO ME, INDICATING ACCORDING TO HIS PAPERWORK, I GOT WHAT I ORDERED, EVEN THOUGH HE CAN'T PROVE IT AND IT IS CONTRARY TO MY REVIEW WITH HIM IN MY CONTRACTOR'S PRESENCE.
IN ADDITION, THE OWNER MADE A DESIGN MISTAKE IN THE SIZE OF THE CARVED WOOD BRIDGE FOR THE UPPER CABINETS BY THE WINDOW.  HE ORDERED A PIECE THAT IS ACTUALLY TOO LARGE AND JUST TOLD MY CONTRACTOR TO CUT IT DOWN, EVEN THOUGH IT HAS TO BE CUT SO MUCH, THAT IT WILL CUT INTO THE CARVED WOOD DESIGN.
FINALLY, THE SECOND OF THE TWO EMAILS SENT BY THE OWNER TO MY CONTRACTOR STATED THAT HE COULD FIX EVERYTHING BUT BECAUSE HE TAKES NO BLAME FOR HIS MISTAKES AND VERY POOR PAPERWORK, I CAN PAY FOR THE ALL CHANGES WHICH IS SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS MORE.  AND, I END UP WITH RETROFITTED CABINETS BY SWITCHING OUT DOOR PANELS WHICH WILL NOT BE VERY ATTRACTIVE BASED ON THE COLORS, GLAZES AND RUBBINGS FOR THE PIECES INVOLVED.
THE OWNER SHOULD BEAR THE RESPONSBILITY OF IMMEDIATELY ORDERING EVERYTHING NEEDED AT NO COST TO MAKE MY KITCHEN RIGHT.
THIS IS A NIGHTMARE.
AND, BY THE WAY, I USED THIS COMPANY PREVIOUSLY AS A "REMODELER".  THE WORK WAS SO BAD, IT HAD TO BE DEMOLISHED.  WALLS WERE NOT PLUMB.  DRYWALL WAS VERY POOR.  TEXTURED CEILINGS DID NOT MATCH SURROUNDING AREAS.  SHOWER AND GAS PLUMBING WAS NOT DONE TO CODE.  AND, THE OWNER AUTHORIZED THE INSTALLATION OF CARPETING IN ROOMS WERE THERE WAS STILL SIGNIFCANT SANDING AND DRYWALL WORK TO BE DONE.
DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY FOR CABINETS OR REMODELING.  YOU WILL REGRET IT.

It was a major job.  I liked the job they did very well.  They did the whole thing in about 60 days.  They were very well organized.  They started at 8:00 and worked until 4:30.  They didn't come and go often.  Chris, the owner, came by everyday.  The man who sold the cabinets to us was here a significant amount of time everyday.  They were on budget and finished on time.  They came back 3 or more time to correct smaller problems or fix something that has happened since they were here.  We were extremely happy with them.  The cabinets are extremely good.  We got a very nice deal.  We did some price checking and they weren't the cheapest, but they weren't the most expensive.  The quality was excellent!  They had some sub-contractors that were not quite as professoinal, but they came and stayed everyday.

Does good work, just a little slow.

We gutted our entire kitchen and Distinctive took care of the custom cabinets, plumbing, electrical, painting, tile backsplash and trimwork. Gary was so helpful and patient with the design and has been present every step of the way. Tony did fabulous work with plumbing, electrical, and other essential jobs and was also very patient with some of the things I changed my mind about. Leo did superb work installing the cabinets and trimming everything out. Bill and his helper repaired drywall and painted and did a good job. Their sub Dave and his son installed a gorgeous backsplash with expertise. When the cabinets arrived and the person who was supposed to haul them in and stage them couldn't make it to our home as scheduled, the owner, Chris, Gary, and Tony came over, hauled all the base cabinets inside, and set them up so that installation would not be delayed. Everything has been pretty much on schedule and now the kitchen is nearly complete. Gary has been so patient and prompt with responding to any questions. We trusted all the workers to be in our home while we were at work. Also, they put up with our dog hanging out with them, which made it easier on us to not have to kennel him or board him temporarily. I HIGHLY recommend this company to anyone looking to do any project, whether it is major or minor.

Excellent  We have an old, small, house with a small kitchen and dining area and sitting area.  We were installing new floor,all new kitchen, an island and ujpdating the electrial. 
This started as a DIY project, except for the countertops.  My wife and I stopped at their store and told the reception lady we were looking for a countertop.  She showed us around and introduced us to Ernie Forster.  I think Ernie would have been considered  the contractor.  The countertop is all I wanted, but he said if we needed help with anything else to give him a call.  No obligations on our part.  We knew what countertop material we wanted, we told them, and they did not pressure us to change materials.  Cost was not the issue regarding the material we selected.
I hit a point where my body was not as strong as my ideas.  So my wife talked  with Ernie about getting some help, I agreed with her about this.  We talked with Ernie about our plans and he proceeded to introduce us to the electrician and the plumbers.  I then looked at all the cabinets and called Ernie again for a cabinet guy.
They were all very professional and will be addressed in individaul entries to Angies list.
What impressed me most was the interaction of the subcontractors and Ernie.
Ernie also had a keen eye for anything which would look o.k. to me but looked better after he and the tradesmen tweaked them or adjusted something to avoid a potential  problem. 
Most of all, Ernie and the other workers were nice and considerate of my wife and mother and myself.
I would gladly employ Ernie any of the professionals he brought into my home.

They did an excellent job. Thy guys that did the work were polite. They came here to work and they got the job done. I was really happy with how they did it.
