DANNEMILLER TRUE VALUE HARDWARE

If I could give this establishment a negative rating, I most certainly would. This business lacks integrity, customer service, and professionalism. I had a lawnmower in their shop for repair and maintenance. I was explained that the lawnmower would be examined inside and out and anything that was not functioning would be replaced up to the agreed upon dollar amount. This amount was $250. If the lawnmower required more than $250 worth of work they were to call me and indicate how much more would be required to get the lawn mower in working condition. The bill came to $249; therefore, I received no phone call and paid the $249. Before the lawnmower was delivered, I asked the maintenance technician to ensure that all parts that required repair were adequately handled since the bill came so close to that $250 mark. I was assured the lawn mower had been inspected and was in working condition. I received the lawnmower and immediately began to mow my lawn. I was not even able to mow a full strip of grass before the lawnmower broke due to a belt that was clearly worn and in dire need of repair. I contacted Dannemiller's because they had not fulfilled their end of the agreement. They indicated I would need to pay an additional $187 for the repair of my lawnmower. I respectfully disagreed due to the fact the original job was not completed to my satisfaction due to the fact that if the original job had been thoroughly completed I would have had a working lawnmower. When the belt was removed it was glaringly obvious that the break did not happen simply by mowing that single, solitary strip of grass. The owner stated that I simply did not know what I was talking about and I should stop asking for handouts. In addition when speaking with him I felt verbally berated and insulted simply because I am female. He was not willing to acknowledge the negligence of his employees and in addition he stated that he would hold my lawnmower until the additional $187 was paid in full. I do not enjoy the implications that I am uneducated or that I ask for work to be completed for free. What I asked for was for the work to be completed that was agreed upon. I work very hard for my money and I will never utilize either this Dannemiller or the business located in Southport. In addition, any chance I have to let hard working people know about the type of 'customer service' or lack thereof that is offered here I will gladly do so.
