D & M Concrete

The crew that worked to prepare and pour the patio was polite and friendly. The work was done expeditiously and looks great! I have had neighbors ask for their contact info because they also like the results. I would definitely hire them again for future needs and highly recommend them.

D&M arrived on time. Removed all concrete took care to not damage existing structure of house or building. Mated with current sidewalks and door stoops and thresholds. No complaints will hire again and or recommend, to family and friends.

Everything went very well. Doug was on the job at all times, working. His attention to detail is impressive, a perfectionist. Kept us informed as things progressed and answered any questions we had. Issues came up that he had not planned for but he dealt with them and worked them in at no extra charge. From dealing with Janet in the office to Doug and his crew, fantastic experience, we hired the right company. We absolutely love our new steps/walkway/driveway and would hire them again for any concrete work we need done.

I am glad I Contacted D&M Concrete . They tore out my old patio and installed a new one without damaging my neighbors fence. D &M was working a very tight space. They laid a new sidewalk and helped me to design the layout and I have had many comments from passers by. I had a good recommendation from a friend and my expectation were met. I will recommend D&D Concrete to everyone who needs their services.

Doug and his crew went above and beyond anything I expected. Their attention to detail and the quality of their work is the best I've ever seen and I've seen a lot of concrete work in my 36 years around construction sites. This is the only concrete company I would recommend without any reservations.

The entire job was professional. Doug knew his job and did it in time frame that worked out best for all of us. I would rehire this company in any concrete work I needed.when they were done they cleaned up after themselves. When Doug cleaned the cement truck into his front loader rather than wash it in the street as others do leaving a mess in the street for a long time, I really appreciated that consideration.

I have a very long driveway and upper parking area by the house, they did a superb job and were easy to work with. The driveway looks great and I will definitely use D&M again next time I have another concrete project.

Each day they were on time they cleaned up the area at the end of the days work and would let me know what was done for that day and what was going to happen the next day. They finished on time. The quality of work was outstanding.

These guys were friendly, fast and helped me out a lot. They not only laid new concrete around my pool area but also helped out with some leveling of the area around the pool. I highly recommend and will be using them once I can get around to my drive way being done.

The new pool deck looks wonderful. We love it. Get compliments from everyone who sees it.

D&M has performed 2 previous projects for me. One was a sidewalk replacement and the other was a foundation and slab for a patio. Both positive experiences. So, they were an easy choice for the drive. They were lowest quote as well. (Just remember you can't drive on for 2 weeks. Plan accordingly.)

Very good. They showed up when they said, tore out and removed the old driveway the first day, poured and finish the new drive the next. Excellent workmanship. We are very satisfied.

This review is a follow up to the original review of August 2016. As stated in the original review, Doug and the crew did a very good job on removing the old concrete and pouring the new. However, in March of this year, I noticed that the soil was wet in an area on the outside of the sidewalk when the rest of the area was dry and it hadn't rained for a few days. The moistened soil persisted and in a few days developed a pencil size hole. Since our sidewalk has a sump drain line running right underneath it, my first thought was that the line was damaged when the old concrete was removed. Doug and I agreed that he might not be able to avoid damaging the line when he removed the old concrete so I accepted that that is what happened and I contracted with the company who installed the line to repair it. When they came out to repair the line, they discovered the source of the wet soil and hole was not a damaged line underneath the sidewalk but, instead, a hole in the drain line about 2 inches from the edge of the sidewalk. When I saw the hole, I knew immediately that it was from a stake used in the form for the sidewalk. I had pointed out the drain line to Doug three times during the project: first when he came out to do the estimate, again when they started to tear out the old concrete and last when they started to put the forms in for all the new concrete. Each time Doug said his crew would put the stakes one to two feet from either edge of the line. When I first contacted Doug about this issue, he came out to look at the piece of line that was repaired as well as a photo that I had taken that shows a stake right in the area where the hole in the soil and the drain line were. He said his guys didn't cause the damage but would talk to Janet about it. Their email response was truly incredulous. They first claimed that they put the stake 1 to 2 feet from where I told them the line was so I must have told them the wrong location. I know exactly where the line runs and did not tell them the wrong location. Next they said well someone else must have caused the damage but that, too, is not true. No one has dug, pounded or worked in any way in that area since the concrete was poured. And last, to cap everything off, they referred me back to the contract which states that the customer is responsible for all underground systems. I accept that responsibility and feel that I met that responsibility by pointing out 3 times where the drain line runs; hence, where NOT to put the stakes. I don't think the crew intentionally put a stake there but when I reminded them 3 times where not to put a stake, they are responsible for the damage and I should be reimbursed the $145 it cost to repair the line. The true measure of a company is how it treats it's customers and their response to this issue, which they caused, more than negates the original review that I submitted on them.

This job was done in July of 2014. To this day, 2 years later, the concrete still looks great. No cracking in undesired areas (small cracks in joints where it is supposed to crack) and no flaking. These guys do good work. They are not designers, but know concrete and will give you what you ask for.

The job went very well.  They were hampered by rain this summer but were still able to work my job in within 10 days of their original estimate.  They were efficient on breaking up and removing the old patio and left nothing of the old concrete mess behind.  They moved all the old material out and brought the new concrete in with small equipment and by hand to avoid driving over the grassy areas and put down boards so the wheels of  the equipment didn't sink in.  They cleaned up every bit of the old concrete.  I wanted a dark brown stain and they did a great job of picking the color, staining the concrete and sealing it.

Dougg and I talked before the job and both agreed to a price and work. It worked out very good and I am most pleased with everything.

Doug and Janet and their crew were very professional and easy to work with throughout our project. D&M was one of three Angies List providers from which we obtained quotes. Their quote was just a little higher than the other two but, after we looked at their own house and two other references we obtained from them, we felt they would provide the best quality for the price. And we were not disappointed. Janet notified us two weeks before they started so we could get everything out of the garage. Doug and the crew showed up right when they said they would and even helped move a heavy work bench, tool chest and table saw for us. All but a little bit of the old concrete was removed the first day which was when they discovered an anomaly in how the garage floor was originally poured. They took extra precaution in removing the remainder of the floor and determined how best to pour the new floor in that area. Doug and each of his crew were very experienced in doing garage floors, driveways and sidewalks. They put a weather lip on the garage floor and put a sufficient number of expansion joints and control joints on the driveway and sidewalk. They then completed it with very professional looking edging and broom finish. In addition to the crew's skill and experience, the other thing that made our project go so smoothly was the coordination of the support work. Doug scheduled the dump trucks to haul away the old concrete and deliver the gravel at just the right time as he also did with the concrete trucks. The crew did not mind us standing around watching them work and were really a fun group to talk with. An A+ experience for us and we will definitely use them again if we need concrete work and we have already recommended them to some of our neighbors.
