Terrible. Technician came out and I let him know I noticed it wasn't cooling when lowering the temperature. The first thing that was asked was how old is your system. Our system is 18 years old, he said you should look at replacing it before he even looked at it to see if there were any issues. I let him know that we are not trying to replace it unless we need to and I'd like him to look at it. He went outside and did find the compressor on the unit was fried. From there he went to try and sell me a yearly maintenance program for $100 saying it would help save money on any repairs. Quoted me $350 to change the part out but said there was no guarantee it would work and I'd have to pay for it that didn't fix the issue. He proceeded to give me pricing on new units $4,071, tried to get me to sign to get it installed the next day. then before he left said he spoke with his boss and they agreed to lower the price to $3,900. I called another company after he left and they came out and charged me $100 and fixed the part. Unit is running just fine now. Now I know who my main Heating and A/C guy will be from now on. Watch out for companies that all they want to do is sell you things you don't need.

Great experience! We had a bad backup late last year from our sewer and it was recommended we have it looked at in the spring. Jimmy the owner came out personally and snaked the line and identified two places with issues. Within a couple days they had dug up our sewer line and fixed the problem - getting the grading the way it needed to be - and apparently should have been built originally and the builder neglected to perform the job up to code! They are also set to replace our HVAC soon as it needed to be moved in part of the excavation process and our old one was ready to be replaced anyway. Highly recommend!

The job went very well. All of the employees were pleasant and helpful and took the time to explain what was happening and what my options were. They initially came to unclog a blockage ($99 charge) and attempted to unclog it for 2+ hours before they realized it might be a bigger issue. Because they did not solve the issue they did not charge me for that initial visit and came back with a camera to diagnose the issue, which was a collapsed sewer line. I was impressed and happy at the level of comittment to solving the problem they demonstrated to solving the problem. A special thanks to Chad, Travis, Jimmy, and Dave for being so trustworthy and hard working.

Pricing was way higher than others we were quoted, but gave not indication it would be that high until after completed. He kind of bait and switched quoted us. He gave my wife some nonsense explanation for why it was so expensive. Was not at all happy. Will never use this guy ever again. If you like paying for services where they quote one price and then claim it was too much work for a basic, yet simple service and then subjectively double the price. This is your guy!

"I am very sorry you were unhappy with cost, but customers honesty is falling short of the truth about the issue. We replaced an outdoor hose faucet which was buried behind a bush that was right against the structure which drew blood on hands and arms, and then old hose bibb was behind mortor so had to hammer and chisel to remove which was difficult in such tight area as I explained to homeowner. We had an appointment on Monday which customer cancelled so we rescheduled for 9 am which we did arrive on time. My son and I explained to homeowner abt the $50 extra charges due to the difficulty removing old hose bibb. We were never asked for a quote prior to arriving so I can't hardly believe homeowner had a previous estimate from any other plumbing service company. Not buying the quality of work performed either it was done in a quality & professional manner. If customer had another quote that should have been stated that upon our arrival then we would have had an opportunity to match cost or move on."

I spoke with Dan about the number of fixtures we needed replaced. Upon request, he visited and gave me a very detailed estimate which I requested to included options of purchasing fixtures ourselves in advance. The plumber was very easy to schedule and showed up on time. The work was great and everything looked and worked great. We felt the job and the price was a good value for very good expert work. We replace multiple sinks, faucets, and shower fixtures. We are very happy with the job.

At first the plumber tried to fix it but that didn't work. The part was too old and corroded. Se he went out to the truck for parts which he brought just in case, but as luck would have it, the parts he brought did not match the part in the faucet and he had to go to Lowe's, and Lowe's didn't have it so he had to go downtown. This fixture is over 18 years old. So what could have been a half-hour job turned into a two and a half-hour job, but he did get the part and it was easy to turn . However, all we checked for at that time was how easy it was to turn, but that night when we actually used the shower, we discovered that when we turned it to hot, cold water came out and on cold, hot water came out so it was backwards. Called them and they came out the next day and found the pipes behind the shower have the hot water running down the right side and the cold down the left. He resolved the situation by putting the cylinder in backward to match the pipes, and now it works the way it should. So, they didn't make out so good on this job. But that is one reason I selected Allen Plumbing. I noticed in reading reviews that the owner responded to every one and was dedicated to making sure the job was done right. In regard to price, I haven't used a plumber in 30 years, so yeah, there was some sticker shock since I've always done things myself and pay only for parts. The part, in this case, was $49. But unlike manufacturers, they can't outsource or automate, so I imagine putting an experienced plumber in the field is an expensive proposition what with trucks, fuel, inventory, insurance and so on. Also, I figure I am not just paying for labor, I am paying for knowledge and expertise, otherwise I would do it myself. But they have a jobs categorized from one to seven with standard prices for each category, so if you describe the job they can give you a good idea of what it will cost beforehand. As regards sticker shock, I get that every time I go to the dentist.

Returned our call promptly. Showed up on time. The plumber was polite and professional. Satisfied with the installation. The charge was $149 per toilet which I didn't think was a bad price. Surprised by the $49 "service fee." That was my only negative. Other than that, it was a good experience.

It lasted 2 weeks, and then the fitting ruptured and flooded our basement. It took two more fittings to get it right. Company has been in business a long time, but they sent 2 younger plumbers who didn't know what they were doing. We will never use them again!!

"Allen Plumbing has admitted guilt on this issue months ago in which we covered her over priced damage of old and useless items thru an insurance claim. I also gave them $100 in dinner gift certificates for their troubles, so for what reason this complaint months after is about baffles me, we are all human and sometimes we all make mistakes and it was actually the same method that existing tank was connected with except 30 yrs ago product was more durable. Both so called young plumbers are in mid to upper 30'[Member Information Removed] and have 40 yrs experience between them. So for are F grade they accepted the price given which was very fair, quality same as existing piping, we responded within an 1-2 hrs to the issue, punctual same as responsiveness, and professional between getting insurance involved, buying several dinners for their inconvenience, answered questions when addressed, we did what is expected of a professional service provider. Companies like Allen Plumbing are exactly why I use Angie's List. Found an odd puddle of water on the kitchen floor coming from under the kitchen sink cabinet. Didnt see any obvious leaks. Based on Angies list reviews, I contacted Allen Plumbing. Got a return call within a couple hours. David showed up the next day exactly on time, assessed the problem and had it fixed within an hour or so. He explained exactly what he believed the issue was, what he was doing to address it and why. Even gave me some tips on what to watch for in the future. Price was certainly fair and charges were reviewed. When David said as he left to call if I saw any issues, and that they stand behind their work, I believed him. I absolutely will use Allen Plumbing in the future for any of my plumbing needs.

The faucet that I had them fix, was still leaking and causing issues after we had them come out and perform service. I'm trying to fix it myself from time to time. He's a good fellow, just feels like the job wasn't complete. He also replaced a new heater. I was hoping that it would be less expensive.

Can't say enough good things about Allen plumbing, returned my calls quickly and showed up on time every time. Very nice people and did a great job !!! They were careful not to make a mess and even came back a few days later to put the carpet back down and hang the closet door up at a time convenient for us. They came in lower than the original estimate for the job. We will be using them for all of our future plumbing needs.

Didn't like that the technician showed up before our agreed time. I'm sure customers typically appreciate an earlier service time but when your wife is running a daycare out of the house and is there by herself with a bunch of other people's kids, it's important to keep scheduled times. I had made arrangements for my father to be at the house during the scheduled service time but he couldn't make it when the tech shows up 4 hours early. Outside of that, the service was satisfactory.

Great! The workers arrived promptly and were done about two hours ahead of estimate. They even offered to take the box the water softener came in to their dumpster for me. I was particularly impressed by something that might seem odd to be impressed by. My husband was the one who got the estimate from the owner, who quoted $450. After the service was done (by two other employees) and with me there, I was presented an invoice for $450 plus a $49 charge for a service call. I paid it, thinking my husband must have not told me that part. When I found out it was supposed to only be $450 total, I messaged the owner on here and asked just to be sure. He immediately issued a refund check for the $49, confirming that he did quote $450. While it was perhaps inconvenient to be charged incorrectly to begin with, I understand mistakes happen, and in times like that, I particularly appreciate prompt fixing of the problem. Would recommend this company for sure.

Fine except the pricing. I was quoted $450 for a 3 1/2 hour job. The job took at most an hour. They wanted $450 for the 1 hour & wrote on the bill as quoted, conveniently excluding the part about 3 1/2 hours estimate. They said that's standard practice. They also on the Angies list printout offered a membership discount of 25% which was never shown on the bill despite several mentions of Angie as a member. A phone conversation led to an additional sink job to offset this overcharge. They billed me for $143 for that job with no discount or offset price for the 1st job. I'm paying it but will never use them again. Dishonest & deceptive quote practice with double talk to justify. Conflicts with the quote practice they use on their Web Site. Too bad, they seem like good guys.
